    I am after your help and guidance please. Next year our current internet feed is up for renewal and I have to go out to tender for a new provider So I have to prepare a "Tender" to email out Do any of you have a document that they have used for this type of thing or some notes/guidance on how I can prepare one. I am going to be asking for Broadband Filtering Telephone system What type of information should I provide on the document etc Your wisdom and advice would be most gratefully received (I will even put a good word in for you with Santa) Regards Stuart Purvis Network Manager

    Hi all, Having moved to Netsweeper with schools broadband, I need to redo our Pac file for our ipads etc. I have tried several pac files but all ways with errors, Can any help with simple guide or how to make pac file. This is giving me a real headache and I am running out of time. I can provide the file I have so far and take any pointers. please. Thanks in advance Stuart Purvis

    I am having trouble access any of the office 365 web sites and Microsoft sites on Edge and IE 11 If I try and go to our office 365 I get INET Timeout error ONLY in ie11 and edge on chrome it is okay. I can ping the the address with no problem I can access them all in chrome I had to do a reset IE settings early on today and it not working since then It is a windows 10 non domain machine I went on another windows 10 machine i have and it is all working, which makes me think some thing is not right on the first windows 10 machine. I have reset network settings and checked all entrys and they are all the same as other machine except for IP address THe only thing i hav enot played around with is the machines firewall but as it is working on chrome i would not suspect firewall I am really getting frustrated with this and before anyone says it I like IE over chrome. I have no proxy set on machine and also i have not get "Detect Automatic settings" ticked Any thing else I can try please

    I need to buy some new POE switchs in readness to power the Harmony Public address/Lockdown/Class change https://www.autotimesystems.co.uk/shop/public-address-systems/ All the Speakers POE devices They are rated at 10-18watts I am looking at having upto 5 per switch in the first phase THe switch are not going to be rackmounted but fastend/secured above ceilings in corridors So i am looking switch with 8 to 12 POE/POE+ switchs that have all the ports are POE To allow for expansion in phase 2 and 3 next year Anyone know any good deals/offers I am looking for advice guidance I am not brand loyal Thanks Stuart

    Hi, I have been asked to look into change all our users permissions on sims at moment we are using default permission in sims for Teachers TA's admin etc I know how to customise and create new permission groups I just do not look forward to trawl thru the sims spread sheet Does any one have any permissions templates that they use that i can have a look at and then do some small tweaks to fit our needs Right that is Job 34 of 1000..... done next GDPR job......     Because it is for Exam Documents that need to be used on Laptops for SEN pupils and they must not have access to shared areas or internet.

    Hi I am looking for somewhere i can buy 2gb Usb Pens 20-30. We do not want big pens it is just to put a few PDF's on for pupils Every where has 8gb plus and it would be such a waste. Need someway that takes PO orders or a good realiable ebay seller. Anyone help please Stuart

    HI we are looking at getting a new local sims server (NOt interested in SIMS 8) I have a couple of server specs in mind for example •Dual Xeon X5650 2.66GHz 6-Core CPUs •64GB Ram or 128 •DVD +/- RW •6 x 1TB 3.5 What i want to know is Licesneing the SQL. With the above spec what are the costs We have not had to do this before as it was done bu or LA several years ago and I am trying to get a final cost together so that i can go to SMT and request the money. Any help, Advice Guidedance much appriceatied. We currently Have a MS OVS agreement. Can this be added on to cover SQL, I am looking at adding on Server element when we renew this year so if you can add sql would that be better value.??

    Hi we are looking at the Brother Direct Scan to Capita Sims https://www.brother.co.uk/business-solutions/education/direct-scan Was wondering if anyone else is using it or are use any other option. We do not really what to use photo copier as last time we looked in it was extremely expensive. He have rough price on the brother unit but wonder what other costs might be ir Sims Capita Licence to link? Any advice help gratefully received Stuart

    We went local and it runs like a dream will better than internet running, Never bother contact lexiasupport after reading this, I did tell our account manager about this thread and he was aware of the thread but said each site different.

    i have got the 118 and 118,4 in gpo but when I press the f7 key it still works. We are using office 2016 windows 7 64 Thanks Stuart

    I have tried the above solution and all seems to work except for F& and Shift shortcuts. It does not spellcheck as they type but if they press F7 it spell checks. I am so close to getting this to work and advice help pointers etc Stuart Purvis

    Our Sen Department has asked can we add more Microsoft voices to CC4 workstations. This is for text to speech from word etc. What best ways can I do this. Does an all in one installer exist ie MSI or will we have to manual install or use the RM Package Builder!!!! Thanks Stuart

    Did all that still nothing, I even contact Samsung support and as I am an enduser not a supplier or distubter they would NOT help at all. I have solved problem by upgrading my machine to windows 10(Been Putting it off till summer but did it today) Thanks ANyway Stu

    Can anyone help My Samsung Smartviewer Software has started to cause problems by not showing the text in button as it should (See Attached) Has any any idea why this might be is it and Active X,Java, Flash or Windows update etc issue Samsung Support of no help as we are an end user so will not advise It not graphics card as I have swopped that out for another. Any Advice Please Stuart

    According to them and I have hounded them over this a few other things you must login to the software to do the upload etc a schedule will not work and I have tried. Stu
