Hi Nick hope you can help Just Install V7.5 on iis6 windows 2003 server and all seemed okay!!! When i went to config it keeps on coming up with the followinf error I enter my "Domain UPN" I enter my Full Admin User and password I then get a pop up windows Message From Webpage "Not Found" Any ideas please Stuart

Got it sorted i think Forgot to say have 2 nics on board and when trying to access website from outside it was coming in on wrong ip need to bond then at some point i have pulled cable out and all is working at moment. Thanks for help wireshark help me out with that Stuart

Yes can be access internally via it private ip address and all runs great. LA made the public ip address and NAT'ed it to the internal ip 212.* to 10.* We orginal had this setup up for a windows server that we where going to use as the new Webserver and it worked first time but then it was decide to move to Linux as moodle works better and gives us features that windows does not so i made the switch ARRRGHHH Comms teams says it can see the outside world coming in and trying to connect??? So they said turn off iptables that has worked in past well i did that and in fact uninstalled it (Apt-get remove) no change If you want copy of any config file or what ever let me know and i will send as i am desprate now Stuart

HELP As i asked before but did not get a response I am asking again We have Ubuntu10.10 Server installed into our network with a 10.* ip address We are running apache2 and Moodle and i can access them all from within the School We have had a public IP address and DNS entry made vle.hilbre.wirral.sch.uk this has been done by the LA comms team at the Main Firewall/Nat Comms room. If i however try and access the websites from outside of the school I cannot get access to website Just get the Waiting to Connect and then "This Website cannot be displayed." I spoke to the Comms team and the said it is getting threw them so it must be the Server. Try stopping or removing the iptables services and see if that fixes it. Well it has not. What else do i need to do on the server to allow all internet traffic from outside world in on certain ports and of course allow internet traffic out. I am a novice so quick and simple please. I did not have LDAP capture installed but do know and it is on a brand new linux server. Need to access pupils my work folders on cc3 windows servers

Hi Gurus out there need some advice on the following, I have just setup a server with Ubuntu server the hardware is a poweredge 2950 with 2 broadcom net extreme ii cards. This server is going to be or VLP/VLE with Moodle 2 I have all that setup and running and i have the 2 nics get ip from dhcp 10.**.**.54 Primary Nic 10.**.**.55 2nd Nic We had the LA create a public ip address and a exteral dns entry into the firewall vle.*****.*****.sch.uk on port 80 to point to internal 10.**.**.54 port 80 Problem: We first set up a windows server with the same hardware except it had a teamed net config of 10.**.**.54 and we could access the website from outside of the school. But we decide to change to linux as there are more options open to us with running Linux Since i changed i cannot access the website from outside of the internal lan. we can access the vle.*****.*****.sch.uk from with in the school as the is a internal dns entry on primary dns Is there anything i need to change on ubuntu server in the firewall rules, net config etc?? Also we want to team up the 2 nic to load bal on 10.**.**.54 so easy on windows but cannot find an easy way to do on ubuntu. I do had webmin installed and working. Hi Guys, I am a newbie to powershell so i want to do some the following in powershell We have created all our Student Users into outlook Live and i have set a couple of CustomAttribs as discribed in howto sections. Q1 Firstly Can you create a Powershell that asks for a Variable/filter that way i do not have to create seperate powershell scripts to do same thing on different users. Q2 How do i export certain users in powershell based on a value in Customattrib I have set the first Custobattrib with there year Group Year 7 Year 8 Year 9 etc but i want to just export all users with the Custom Year 8 for example. q3 Simular to above but if i want to disable/delete users based on the same variable again what is the powershell script. Q4 We have setup the Student Email domain as a Tennet off our main domain how do i disable the students.hilbre.wirral.sch.uk IM chat without disabling the Staff Chat at hilbre.wirral.sch.uk Thanks

Hi Guys, Hope someone can help We have just moved over to Live@edu to provide all or email needs to staff and pupils. I have been impressed so far but have hit a bit of a problem Problem: We have a feedback form that parents can fill in online it then submits that form to an email address feedback@hilbre.*.*.*. The form is hosted on our IIS server so when we turn off out in house email system we lost our smtp sever. I know there is an smtp server option in iis6 but i cannot find out anywhere how best to setup up the smtp server. IE what details i need to put in where. Live@edu seems to require authentation which is fine but i can not see where to enter this detail. Can any offer any guides on how to do it. OR offer any other solutions to having an form emailed to a email address is there such a thing anymore as a freee open smtp servers. Stuart

We are going to move all staff over to Live@edu overe the next few weeks. First i can move most staff via imap but we have some critical users using outlook 2003 so therefore using pst files. Is there any way i can copy these pst's and then upload them to the right new email accounts i am quite happy doing this i just need to know how to do this. We cannot move the users oover to outlook 2007/2010 as it is not practical to do so i have outlock 2010 on my work machine and the one at home. Any help advice please as it a major project and i want to look good doing this. Stuart

We are looking at installing signage software around the school and we have decided on Xibo I have everthing working but the question i have is We want to have a scrolling daily bulliten that the admin staff can edit/alter we do not want to give them access to xibo even with restricted access things could go wrong so what i thought was create a rss/ticker feed that reads the content of a txt file and displays that. Xibo can either show a rss feed or webpage how am i best to do this I can use asp or php or html on our server Thanks Stu

I am after advice/pros/cons. We currently run Imail server in school but it is outdated and we are having issues with the spam filtering. We want to move our email to something different. that cost 0.000 Does any one have any advice on the following a free linux option with spam and virus checking Google Mail for Education or MS Live@edu mail We can modify or MX record or should i say LA can we can setup a email server internal if need for linux option. HELP!!!!! Short notice request, We have been asked to look for a solution to allow staff and pupils to communicate with each with via messaging/email. But it has to meet certain critera 1) it must keep a log of all communication between pupils and staff for as long we need. Even if staff or pupil delete message the log of comms is kept. 2) It must run on windows 2003/win xp or even as asp that we can config and host on our servers 3) Cheap or Free Thanks Stuart

Once again our fax machine is broken.... I think they are getting a bit archaic. I wanted to use a software based system like winfax (i havve used it elsewere). Can any one recomend a bit of software that can do Fax to Email (only needs one account) so we can receive faxes? opensource would de ideal but i am willing to pay..... It would also save a lot of paper.

I think that is the way forward then there are no excuses.

OMG......... I have just been asked if i can clean all 180 laptop keyboards and 150 pc keyboards and mice at the end of the day to disinfect them, every day. So as not to spread any possibility of swine flu.............. that is 5.5 hours if it took 1 min per keyboard, oh and i have to do my job as well........... I thought she was joking.............. but she is not!!! Any one know of a spray so i can get the teachers to do it or a company that would do it for us. Or even an idea of how to get out of it .............

Hi Guys and Gals, Hope some can Help Firstly we are Running a 3com WX2200 Wireless Switch with 33 Access Points and all that works well. We are about to deploy the Web Portal Option to allow certain Pupils to use there own laptops on the Network for Internet Access Only. We have got most of the problems sorted but the main one we are having at moment is turning on the school web proxy. We belive there is a way of doing it in a webpage Ie when the Web portal login page loads(this does not require the proxy set) and the user logs in it then would load another webpage that sets the correct proxy settings and then allows them to continue using the internet. Then when when thay log off it goes to another web page and turns off the proxy. if this cannot be done via web page is there away of getting a reg key frag to run once they have logged on.
