If it's microbore pipe 10?mm there's a reason it's hardly used any more. Famous for blocking up. Have you tried moving both the rad valves in case they are bunged up?May be very stiff so be careful and possibly may leak slightly when turned.

Some kind of wiki perhaps? Our QNAP NAS has a simple one which the children can use to get the idea of it. Maybe something similar out there.

Training classes for recalcitrant cables: what a great idea. Teach them to untangle themselves and coil up neatly.

Free/VPP iPad app that requires app store account to use

There's a useful app here ehichs the status of needed ports for apple communication. However it is 99p so you'll need to find a way to obtain it. Maybe "borrow" someone's iPhone? https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/services-test/id663823983 -
Yes. I thought it was just me doing something stupid as usual. Will try that fix later.

Connecting Laptop directly to a router question

Have you tried a crossover cable just in case? What is issuing your DHCP.& DNS.? Otherwise you'll need a static IP. -
If you're down south try SCoMIS. They are Devon County Council IT support and often fix Capita problems before Capita!

Treat it as a disaster recovery test. Better that stuff goes wrong when you can fix it than say KS2 SATS week. There's a brilliant Buddhist? phrase ”it was already broken" which is true really. The demon within is just waiting to cause problems at a time of his choosing but a powerdown may provoke him to cause early failure.

I have used a system with eight inch floppies although it was old even then; early 1980s It ran a test system for bubble memory portable computers on CP/M and I think was made by Exxon so I guess was Z80 CPU based.

QNAP NAS can support an SSD as a cache. Is it worth trying one if you have spare slot in the NAS?

Or just eat the squirrels who will have kindly processed the acorns for you.

We use eschools which has a reasonable calendar. I agree re out of date printed copies so we setup a touchscreen in the staffroom with a raspberry pi which shows the calendar

Have you tried the latest BIOS in case that helps?

Just ordered ours yesterday! Looking forward to installing it over half term. The separate outlet group for load shedding looks really useful plus alerts from the APC connect feature.

This would be handy to remove stupidly parked cars outside school.

We are actually just looking to uprate our APC SMT750 which quite easily supports our Dell R420 server (low power CPU,4 disks,2PSU) and QNAP TS-459 NAS (intelCPU,4disks). Average load is generally around 105 watts for server and 35 watts NAS with runtime est at 44 mins from the APC powerchute s/w, so I would say the 750 model would be fine. One point is cost of replacement batteries (3-4 years) as the bigger models can be quite pricey. Although our SMT750 is fine at 6 years old, we are looking to add NTE, router and 2 POE switches to it so that in future our VOIP phone system will keep going for a while so are looking at SMC1000/1500.

Hello all, we are a gsuite for education school integrated with RM UNify but have come across an odd problem. We have 1 user whose Huawei LY-9 phone has been enrolled in gsuite MDM for some months with no problem. However, she has had repeated messages to enroll her device and each time we authorise it in the admin console, she tries to enroll but it fails again and then gets the same message. She can login to her account ok on a PC, password is ok she and insists that she hasn't changed or upgraded anything. Any ideas before I raise a call with Google?

Depending on the circumstances, would libre office do?

Just seen a Humax Pvr 9300t in a charity shop for £35! If you can find one that cheap try a disk swap and sorted. Coax is terrible for water as there's often air gaps round the core which is perfect for channeling water....I'm guessing the 12v DC phantom power on the aerial lead is great for electrolysis corrosion too!

Don't know where you are but try GV multimedia Exeter. Not the cheapest but seem pretty professional. Maybe get severally quotes to compare and see how prices stack up. -
