  1. That's an appalling failure rate! Our 8 kitchen GU10s have lasted ?8 years with only 1 failure. Most of my LED bulbs will probably outlast me!
  2. Lovely socks! Thank you so much.
  3. Ggrrr. annoying. Mind you g suite always reminded me of furniture!
  4. Are you going to publicly destroy the rogue router in the playground with a sledgehammer? Go on I'm sure you're tempted!
  5. We tell them to use different browser eg Firefox and that helped in lots of cases. Or ensure they sign out of their personal Gmail account in chrome.
  6. Best thing we ever did was setup 2 test Google classroom s and added half the staff as teachers in one and half as students in the other and vice versa. That way they can test and gain confidence in using from both sides. Have to say we've had no major problems with it.
  7. We use all Cisco SG300 and whilst not cheap we got good pricing from Insight. The oldest are ?8 years old but all have 100% reliable. The only switch we have trouble with is little 8 port one connecting the BMS which blows up every 2 or 3 years (no room for anything bigger).
  8. If it's only a few do it yourself. You can then remove yourself once teachers are setup.I also created 2 dummy classroom with half the staff as a teacher in one and half as students in other and vice versa so staff can have a play and gain confidence.
  9. Blob of super glue with a matchstick or similar. You can then try gently manoeuvring it round and then cut it off when it's working. I would also try a scalpel round the switch - probably hard enough to slice off small slivers of the case.
  10. I swear one of those figures on the platform just moved!
  11. We have all been given our own visors.
  12. Don't know if it's related but we had a teacher laptop do this yesterday. I told her to just keep trying and luckily it's now ok as I'm working from home! Could it be a broken windows update which eventually goes away/fixes itself?
  13. We have a small cyberpower rack UPS which has not restarted a couple times after power cuts. Our CCTV has a tripplite UPS but it feels a bit plasticky. Our main UPS are APC and have been solid so far.
  14. If the DVD is still needed you will need new power and Sata cables. ....and possibly a new school as well if it burns the place down! Are Viglen aware of this as it could be pretty serious, as well as a time waster?
  15. Could it be related to the problems at the London data centre yesterday? SWGfL was down for a while because of it. Maybe something hasn't come back properly?
  16. Yeah', really enjoying Perry Mason too. Just finished Penny Dreadful City of Angels which I thought was even better.
  17. We've standardised on clevertouch because of the included Lynx software which has android,. iPad and PC software as well as built in to the board and no damn annual licence fee!
  18. For complete emergency restores you could just take the server to the backup NAS site to rebuild quickly (assuming it's it's not a stupid distance away!)
  19. More like these: https://www.cablemonkey.co.uk/fibre-patch-panels-boxes/13099-st-lockable-wall-mounting-enclosure.html
  20. I've seen some small lockable wall mount metal boxes which are meant for fibre termination and have room for a small switch as well.
  21. Just found a young Dunnock sitting on the floor of our bathroom! I think it must have fallen through the velux window and then didn't know what to do. Managed to coax it into a box and put it outside where it flew off ok. We see them quite a lot here usually lurking round the hedges.
  22. Rescued a young Great Tit that had fallen down our woodburner flue (lucky it's summer!) Could be it was trying to escape the sparrowhawk that's taken to hunting for prey round our bird feeder. It's way too fast to get any pictures!
  23. Just In case you need to crank out Ace of Spades at 2 am....
  24. Syncbackpro? Not expensive and tons of options. Edu discount and a perpetual licence.
