  1. Thanks guys for your input Thought this was the case was just trying to figure out what in their quote was meant by SPO/GTD SPO - figured could be sharepoint online GTD - Probaby something to do with google? No idea lol
  2. Hi Guys One of the schools we support recently purchased the RM Unify Premium with AD Sync Installation for their school One of their reasons was that they wanted staff to access network drives on their AD Server from home. Has anyone used this before or is this even technically possible do to? The school got quoted around £500 and in the description says something like INS Data-Mig-File Sys to SPO/GTD I'm just wondering if this is just transferring data from their shares up to Office365 cloud Anyone had experience with this?
  3. Thanks guys! will take a look Regarding getting the domain name for educational use did you guys have to submit anything to prove this?
  4. Hi Got a small education establishment we working with, they don't have their own website and just using as a link from the main councils website They looking to move to Office365 they have their own Windows server running a few laptops and desktops all basic setup nothing too fancy They looking to migrate everything to O365 but to setup an account they need a domain name right?? i.e theirwebsite.com or whatever Any suggestions where to get this from or any preferences or companies you can recommend for a domain name once they have a domain name then I guess they can signup for a 365 account Thanks
  5. Hi guys Anyone using Ruckus cloud for their school? Currently at the school we have the following setup 1. SSID - Mobile (For mobile devices) 2. SSID - Guest (Guest Users 3. SSID - Curriciulum (Hidden network for curriculum use) 1 and 2 works fine users connect enters the password and they are through With 3 it is integrated via Radius NPS which we have installed on our domain controller - radius is working fine as we have tested it Originally we had the controller hosted internally via an IP and we would manage all the APs via the controller which worked fine, but now we have moved over to the cloud having major issues with the cloud controller connecting and speaking to our network all it does is returns "Timeout error messages" when we try to authenticate it both using AD and also Radius The internal controller is still active and for testing purposes we are able to speak to the radius server and authenticate under active directory but its just the cloud controller which is having issues speaking back We have one Host Server and a DC and Data Server machine within the host Firewall is switched off at the DC including domain firewall everything! Issue is the schools wifi is managed by a 3rd party who has access to the controller but we got access to their Servers and everything so all we do is provide them with a secret key, radius / ad server IP address and a test login which we have and when testing against radius all it does is returns with timeout Anyone come across anything ike this or have any suggestions going crazy
  6. Thanks guys for the input For Curriculum Machines ones connected to smart board and student devices we will just wipe them fresh and put a new image of Win 10 on them The admin machines school is adamant to do an inplace upgrade for them
  7. Hi Working with a primary school at the moment they have around 7 admin machines (Head/Finance/admin/bursar etc) all on windows 7 they have Stuff like SIMS and other admin related software Will be planning to get them all upgraded to Windows 10 at the moment, will do an In place upgrade from 7 > 10 Hopefully for this Is the best thing to do is use the Media Creation Tool for this? Wiping everything out and doing it from scratch is going to be really time consuming as they use local profiles and some of these staff members have a habit of saving stuff to desktop and profiles can exceed 5gb > (Not good practise i know but it is how it is!) Or anyone else have any tips or methods for upgrading admin machines? or has anyone had any issues
  8. Hey all Just migrated all our VMs to a new Server at a School We currently have 2 VMS 1) DC 2) Data Server (Student Files/Teachers Files/Profiles/Shared Folder/SIMS) We have a seperate disk for Sims data only and another for all the Shared file Around 6 admin staff host is 96GIG RAM What would you guys recommend for RAM Memory Allocation for the DC and the Data Server? Its a primary school around 50 teachers 400 Students roughly
  9. Hey all Quick question, been spending all day today trying to figure out why internet keeps dropping out at a school network after dismantling everything with trial and error testing the last step i did was connecting a laptop device directly to a gigaclear genexis router (Meaning cable directly from the Router to the Laptop bypassing all the switches in the hubroom) surely it should atleast pick up the internet right doing it this way?? (Assuming broadband was working) Although when i did that doing an ip config it returned with an 169 IP address Does this mean there could be a problem with the router potentially? Any ideas? Maybe im missing the obvious
