  1. Not for a BYOD setup, but we've got a set of 12 Chrome books here. Students have all been given a Google account linked to their AD as well as an Office365 account which they logon to, once on the Chromebooks. GMail is disabled for all users - so they use Office365 for their mail. It's working well, with the Google management licences too and we've found them pretty light touch with regards to support since we set them up for September. We are using RM Unify, to create both Office365 and G suite accounts.
  2. We've seen the white screen issue here too and we've moved from browser to browser. At times, it's a bit hit and miss.
  3. We also run it from a share, with the auto update disabled so I can update it when I like rather than be forced upon the update. Works well.
  4. I've always just used the online support via the Office365 admin website. I log a call and generally they call me back within 30 mins. You are assigned a provisioning account manager and I would imagine they will be able to support you in getting all schools onboard. You just need to ensure that you have all the relevant contact information filled in etc as they may question whether the school is entitled to the education accounts.
  5. We've used both SIMS Learning Gateway and SchoolCOMMS and parents have the option to contact the school and update their information electronically. As you mentioned, it goes into a moderation queue waiting for someone to check and update SIMS where necessary. Your never going to get all parents sending in their information, as you don't with the paper data collection sheets but at least this way, they don't end up being stuck to the bottom of the students bags. Every couple of weeks a make a post on our Facebook and Twitter pages asking parents if they have changed any of their details to get in touch which does have some impact.
  6. We had someone mention this last week also. It's likely that we will use our Go Pro's - although not 100% how they will be managed i.e. who is going to start and stop the footage and the editing side.
  7. We've had Canon machines since January 2016 and we've been delighted with them. Reliability has been great and we have integrated them with the Uniflow software, we are finding staff so comfortable carrying out doing their own copying, that it's near enough made our Reprographics Manager redundant. Support is direct with Canon, and with the machines dialling home for toner replenishments and an engineer, we hardly ever have to pick up the phone and log a call. Not sure what models you were thinking about but our print room consists of 1 x VarioPrint 135 and 1 x Imagepress C800 and our satellite machines across the school consist of 5 x 6275's and 2 slightly bigger models which i can't remember the model number of. We've added hole punching and saddlestitch options to them all too. Staff love making A5 booklets !
  8. When I get to BETT, I was planning on having a word with SchoolCOMMS anyway - we use SchoolCOMMS for parental engagement but another provider for our online payments - I was hoping to move to one system for both, so it will be interesting to hear what they say.

I must admit, I love getting my highlighter pens out and marking off where I need to go.... and who to avoid !
  10. We've got a bank of 12 Chrome Books used in our student support centre and we are also a Office365 school. Yes, we've setup SSO via RM Unify for our GApps as well as Office365, but once logged in the students access their documents via either the online versions of Office365 or via OneDrive. Seems to be working well.
  11. Not sure if these projectors have two sensors (front and rear), could you stick something over the rear sensor so that you need to be at the front of the room to operate i.e. the teacher?
  12. I'm not sure if this will give you more choice, but I think you can now access Lexia Core 5 UK within a browser. Lexia Reading CORE5
  13. Yeah, Imagine so. But not sure if your looking at costs whether the cost remains the same if you only buy that module.
  14. Assessment Suite Pro - Annual Entitlement (Assessment Manager, Profiles, Exams, Performance Analysis, Discover) Curriculum Management Suite - Annual Entitlement (Timetable NOVA-T6, Options, Cover 7) SIMS webparts-Core and Profiles, I'm guessing you've got SLG Start-Up Kit II - Annual Entitlement (Core, Reporting, Personnel, SENCO)
  15. Moodle seems to tick all your boxes, although i've never used it!
  16. We've had issues with Adobe DC and our MFD printers too. The printers map fine to the PC and can be seen in other software titles such as Word etc, but when trying to print a PDF via Adobe DC it only brings up local printers - i..e. Print to PDF etc, Fax etc.
  17. Are you hosted or self hosted? Theres options within Sharepoint where you can change the schedule time the task runs and it's frequency if your self hosted.
  18. This reminds me of the roxanne drinking game as a kid - each time he mentions Roxanne, you take a drink. There was often some states by the end of the song !
  19. We've been using Uniflow since January and have had no issues at all with it and it's producing the data I need easily. I can't comment on the support as we've never needed to use them other than when it was setup and the guy that did our install remotely was great.
  20. We updated ours in the summer from 2013 although nobody has mentioned any changes to us, so I'm not even sure if people have realised !
  21. We've always renewed in advance and the new agreement just starts the following day from when the previous one is up.
  22. I imagine most of the trailers on IMDB are hosted elsewhere, rottentomatoes, apple itunes, youtube etc - so it's not just IMDB you will need to whitelist.
  23. I stuck 9.5 on yesterday, backups worked fine again last night. I just love veeam !
  24. Again, we are a happy customer of theirs, but we don't use Azure.
  25. Our current SIMS server was done from scratch but the previous one was via P2V. I didn't notice any real difference to be honest.
