  1. We've generally bought these from RocheAV - i can't see the UF70 model but they may sell them, we've swapped a lot of UF45's in our primaries https://rocheav.co.uk/visual/projectors/smart-promethean-swap-outs Just watch the cost isn't what you pay as they like to sting you with the delivery!
  2. Hi all I am interested to hear what software and hardware you are using in your Music department in your school. We are both a secondary school and sixth form college and we have a mixed bag of Cubase licences (different versions) across the 20 PC's in music. We use Tascams on all machines. We probably need a refresh of the kit over the summer, but I am interested in what you guys have in place. Are you using: Windows / Mac's Cubase / ProTools / Sibelius Any additional hardware such as Tascams etc. I've priced up to replace the suite and we are looking at around £12k with some fairly hefty refurbished PC's. Thanks
  3. We have also decided to remain on the self-hosted version after serveral telephone calls and e-mails 'selling' the benefits of the hosted solution. We wouldn't use any of the benefits of the hosted solution and have this year decided against the support also and buy more books for the library with the money.
  4. We've always had issues with gov.uk sites on our smoothwall box and have marked most as certificate exceptions.
  5. We've not looked for a while, but we used to be able to see the various switches used by our LA as well as the web interfaces of various security cameras across the county.
  6. Thanks for the heads up - i'm 99% certain we are using the plugin but I'll give it a look just incase.
  7. We also use Screenconnect for connection to our primaries. Very affordable for unlimited connections.
  8. We don't do the invigilation, but we get that many phonecalls about this crashing out etc, we might as well do as we are never away from the room when the exam is taking place!
  9. I've had a quick look at Microsoft Teams today, it doesn't even appear to be a similar product. It's like comparing Word with Excel !
  10. We do our MFL listening exams in ICT Suites. We rip the CD's on the morning of the exam to an exam account that has no access to the internet or other applications other than Windows Media Player or VLC.
  11. I can't see there being an issue. I've seen CC4 servers work fine virtualised but those are mainly fresh installs. I guess you've got nothing to lose by giving it a go.
  12. We are also testing this. Our first attempt on a Windows 10 build in a primary school was around 2 mins first logon. We've now got it down to 40 seconds for the standard PC's we use in school. We've got one PC's with a SSD drive and 16GB RAM and it logs in within 10 - 15 seconds. Unfortunatly my budget doesn't stretch that far to buy this spec of machine for everywhere.
  13. We predominantly use iPADs here for bookable resources but have one set of Chromebooks that I think are much better as a bookable / shared resource. Our iPADs effectively get used as 'research' tools to go on the internet with. We are likely to be increasing the number of Chromebooks over the summer - I also agree that the management of the chromebooks is relatively painless using the google management console.
  14. I needed to set this up for one of our primaries, some children are in school for the full day others in just the AM and then others just the PM, I didn't spend a great deal of time on it, but from what I could see I couldn't work out how to do it - I am interested also if other people have found a way around it.
  15. We've not created teaching materials here, but in the past have created quick help videos for various tasks that we've hosted on our helpdesk and sent the videos over as replies if we get any questions through - how to create mailing lists etc.
  16. I've heard of a couple of schools doing this, as you mention it's a case of changing the attendance code mapping so 1 = /, 2 = /, 3 =4 etc. I'm not sure how easy it is to pull a report from SIMS to give you the average score overall - i Imagine the data will need to be pulled out and put through excel.
  17. We are using both side by side, but only G Suite to allow students to logon to our Chrome books. Your able to turn off and on the specific features you require, so a public facing website is possible.
  18. I've just dug this one out of my folders. Couldn't really tell you when the last time we used it - it's from around the time of Laptops for Teachers! St. Bede's Loan Agreement Proforma.doc
  19. Don't think you can purchase individual packages outside of the suites.
  20. We've bought EPSON ones in the past - excellent quality but very expensive for what they are.
  21. We've generally added the most important to the footer of our website or have a separate page for Awards / Accreditation's and a brief description for what it actually is.
  22. It's a doddle if you buy the Curriculum Choice package.
  23. Don't think a copy and paste job will fix that problem. I've generally had to log onto a machine as admin and run the exams and like you say, it probably registers some new DLL's.
  24. I've had it installed for the full week before we broke up with nobody mentioning any issues for us.
  25. We've also got a Pitney Bowes device - it's around 12 months old and we don't have any issues. Barring opening some ports on our Smoothwall box so it can dial home, it's been pretty light touch. We bought from here: Cheap Franking Machine Inks | Pitney Bowes Franking Ink | Neopost Franking Ink | FP Franking Ink | Frama Franking Ink | Franking Machine Labels | Envelopes
