  1. Thank you both for the information. I will have to manually remove the keyboards and try and remember to remove them off any newly setup ones in the future.
  2. Hello everybody, It seems some students have recently have found the emoji keyboard on iPads and found the middle finger emoji. Can anyone recommend the best way to remove the keyboard using Intune or do I need to remove the keyboards manually? Thanks in advance, Mark
  3. Hi everyone, I have had Azure AD user provisioning and single sign-on set up so Azure does the auth for Google accounts and devices. I would like to know if I can set the default OU in Google where users are created? I would like to do this because if we forget to move a student user the user doesn't get as many policies. For example I would like the users created/moved in to the ROOT\New Users OU Any ideas? Thanks, Mark
  4. As much as I agree with you, secondary students don't always hand in there work, even coursework that has been completed and unfortunately staff need the access to go digging to retrieve the work.
  5. Hello everybody, I wonder if anyone can help me. We currently have a bespoke tool written be a clever previous technician that can find a students home folder on the server and open it for any staff to access. Has anyone got any ideas how we could give access to all students OneDrive to all staff to do the same thing? I wonder if Salamander could give access to staff to all students OneDrives and then we have a list of URL's in a spreadsheet corresponding to a child? Has anyone else done similar to this? Thanks in advance
  6. Following on from this thread, has anyone been able to eliminate typing an email address in twice when logging in, it driving me mad. I can stop it on managed Chromebooks but not other devices, any ideas?
  7. Hi everybody, We are setting up 160 new laptops here with Windows 11 but when we deploy them and going through the Out of Box Experience, it wont let us click the join domain button to initiate connecting to local ad, it just loads and loops back to the Microsoft Account Sign in screen. The Windows 11 image is a standard install.wim from a volume license version of Windows 11 Education. The testing computers are in blocked inheritance to make sure there is no Gp's applying and they should be on unfiltered through the Smoothwall but I suspect they are still being blocked somehow. If we pull the cable after network deployment and let it go through the oobe normally we can setup as a local device, we can even plug the network cable in after the button has been clicked and then the setup asks for a local user name etc, the only issues with this way is the computer doesn't auto join the domain but it does at least get the correct computer name. I have tried deploying from a USB and connect to the network during the setup but still the same issue so it seems GP's or domain isn't the problem. From my understanding the Windows 11 oobe is slightly different according to this article https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/customize/desktop/customize-oobe-in-windows-11 . My only ideas based on the oobe is that when deploying the windows updates initially or the setup is banned/blocked from adding the computer to the domain. Sorry this seems messy but I've tried to write out what I can. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mark
  8. I would like to organize a visit and don't really want to travel to far. I'm a bit old school like that. - - - Updated - - - We have setup Smoothwall Cloud Filtering and that seems to be working great!
  9. That's great advice thank you! We have quite a few Chromebooks from DFE and setup SSO with Azure and Google etc but luckily not had any breakages yet!
  10. Hello everyone, I hope this is the right place to ask this and I hope its OK to do. I have a secondary School I support who want to roll out Chromebooks 1:1. Can anyone help me get in touch with another School in the Midlands area who have already achieved this? Preferably a school with high levels of EAL and Pupil premium students which is similar to the school asking? I would like to know any thoughts and advice on there experiences that could help us? Thanks for any help
  11. Yes I've searched through the forums with Filestream and File Stream and checked through what i could but couldn't see any solutions...
  12. Hello everyone, I have setup AD Sync -> O365 and federated O365 with Google, I have also setup SSO with Windows 10 devices to O365. I want to roll out Google File Stream but I want the software to automatically pick up the users email address, either from AD or somewhere else. I have used https://support.google.com/a/answer/7644837?hl=en but this doesnt help. I have tried searching through local users appdata and programdata to see if I can see where it stores the email address once logged in and I have also searched the registry with the email string but found nothing, I'm guessing its stored encrypted or similar. Has anyone else cracked this?
  13. Good morning everyone, I would like to manage offsite Windows devices. I currently have a single forest On-Prem AD synced to 365 for passwords. I have been looking at Hybird Azure setup to enroll the devices but I'm not sure how I would manage my devices remotely. Is there a way to still use Group Policy or do I need to also use an MDM such as Intune?
  14. Thanks for that, Ill have a look today and see what I can do.
  15. Good evening everyone. I have a request from a head teacher who wants a shared calendar, that is shared with other head teachers at different schools, possibly with different email systems. They want everyone to have read and write access. Any ideas if this is possible and how I could go about doing it. The school I'm based at currently uses Office 365. Thanks in advance
