We've always bought our Meraki kit on the 10 years for the price of 5 deals, I would hope that we would be looking to upgrade / renew our AP's within the space of 10 years as technology changes.

I've had a few salesy update e-mails from MyMaths recently with regards to changing over to Flash - I know it's been on the cards for a while, but I think we are nearly there !

Off the top of my head I can't remember our renewal cost this year, but we've been using Veeam for around 3 years now and I am sure year on year the support costs have increased for us.

No issues here with the install. I had to request them to resend us the Summer Discover release as it never arrived in our SOLUS, other than that - no problems.

We pay via Credit Card normally, but @bossman did mentioned a UK based reseller who I assume will accept PO.

We had issues last week with proxy socket errors. We couldn't work out whether it was smoothwall related or were to do with the issues had last week.

I've been looking for the exact same thing these last two days. We have sufficient cabinets for charging, I am just looking for something to help transport chromebooks from room to room - does anybody know if the baskets are available to buy as standalone or do you need to buy the actually cabinet too?

Our contract ended in March (3 year deal) and we were never asked to return the kit after we decided no longer to renew it. We have used it once since with the swivl and one iPOD and it seemed to record the lesson fine - the biggest selling point to the IRIS kit was the secure upload - but we probably went through spells of losing more videos then it saved - so staff haven't really missed it.

We've just priced up for a primary and two companies have come in with quotes for the Hikvision kit. It's not a manufacturer i've come across before, but good to hear they are getting favourable write-ups on here. We've got Mobotix and Axis here. The Axis appear to be better quality for us, but that maybe because the Mobotix kit doesn't appear to be setup right - thats a job for the summer to try and undo the original mess.

In our primaries "Ipad monitors" look after the job of putting the iPads away at the end of the school day. They count them up and make sure they are all there before boxing them up to the following day for classes to use. Here in secondary school, safely putting them away wouldn't happen so thats a job of ICT Support to box them up and put them on charge each night. Generally anything less than 65% goes on charge each evening.

We had issues this morning, but seemed OK by the afternoon. Different error message upon getting into the admin console this morning as we got on Friday.

We use Veeam endpoint here for the primary schools we look after too.

Sylv3r replied to Obee1's topic in How do you do....it?
We've got department twitter accounts as well as a whole school twitter and facebook page. The IT Support staff add all the annoucements to the main school pages / retweet anything shared with us etc and monitor the content of the departments pages too and retweet that if it's useful. We've got 3,438 facebook folllowers and 1,633 on twitter.- 18 replies

I've just had an e-mail to say this will be offline next Wednesday for updates due to customer feedback. Will be interesting to see if anything on the above list is fixed.

We use SchoolCOMMS here as well as their SchoolGateway for parental access to behaviour, reports, asessment etc.

Opening access to Linkedin for Sixth Form Students
Sylv3r replied to jslate1980's topic in General Chat
I must admit I was on the site many years ago, but left due to the constant cold calling. I am not really sure what the benefit is of sixth form students being on the site. It does however seem that they reduced the minimum age from 18 to 13 to attract students to the site - LinkedIn lowers age limit to 13 in student push - Telegraph - is it a ploy to gain advertising revenue? -
We are Meraki fans here too - kit just works.

We've used ClassCharts for around 4 or 5 years now and the staff love it here too. They find things much easier than the previous behaviour management software we have used in the past. Seating plans is an added bonus.

Distance measuring tool for new admissions
Sylv3r replied to Stormborn15's topic in How do you do....it?
We used to go to county hall at the LA and use their Ordnance Survey software in the admissions team - what a pain that was back in the day!
