  1. Will the GUI allow me to specify jobs for example the old users had accounts like Fred21 but the new username is FBloggs how can I specify what needs to be matched up and do i have to do this one at a time or can I stack jobs.
  2. We have just set up a primary school in our area up with a new server and need a way of moving all the user home drive data across. We have changed the username structure for them as it was ridiculously complicated so what is the best solution to move the data across to their new home folders?
  3. Strange no one has replied? Is there a better tool then?
  4. First time creating bulk users so not sure if i am doing it right or how to do it. Found SolarWinds but just a bit confused about how to actually get them into the correct OU. Ad looks like this [schoolName].local > School Name > User Accounts > Students > Year of Entry 17 Any ideas what i need to put in to SolarWinds to get them into the Year of Entry 17 OU?
  5. We use Year group and just change them during the summer holiday. Am i missing something as we never seem to run into any problems
  6. Think I will keep badgering SLT for Veeam not 100% convinced
  7. Can you explain further. I don't mind using it as long as i know exactly what i am doing with it!
  8. First time having to import users into AD as our IT Manager used to do this but is there any free software which will allow us to bulk add the users from a CSV file? I do like a good GUI rather than a powershell script!
  9. I am also interested in it but also concerned that the level of response on edugeek is usually higher for a known product!
  10. I was also looking at this from the thread i started.
  11. Just looking at the free version of Veeam. Does it do full VM backups? All the servers have been added but just need to know where to go next. EDIT: I have also got a qnap storage box which may be helpful for the backups got about 8tb free
  12. Ok one of the schools which i will be taking over in a couple of weeks has got no backups of any files whatsoever!!!! There is a spare physical server laying around which may work just to use as storage but wondering what you would recommend to get backups working and any free software i can use? I use Veeam at my current place but the school at the moment will not pay for it so need a free solution just so i can get home drives backed up.
  13. I visited a school which had Ruckus which had nothing but good things to say. Aruba points look good but expensive and ubiquiti pricing makes them good value. We have thick walls in the school which makes it a nightmare so may need more points than usual to get through the walls. I have seen so many positive reports of ubiquiti on here that makes me want to look at them If anyone could give me a rough price they paid for Ruckus it would be great to know.
