I think I had a similar problem once - IIRC it was because there was a snapshot on the VM. Also check VMWare tools install/update is not running and that hard disk type is SCSI not IDE. Is the disk thin provisioned?

Yes, lets blame the manufacturer = what a great idea! I had some kids once sending pornographic disney cartoons to each other over Hotmail - I've hated it ever since and won't let anyone use it now /sarcasm And what's worse is you can't neg rep or block posts from a Mod either...- 28 replies

I think GADS and sha1filter is now old hat - Take a look at GAPS Google Apps Password Sync (GAPS) - Google Apps Help No personal experience of this though as we used to use GADS and sha1filter but then I decided to just make our users have separate passwords for AD and Google Apps - they can have them the same or different (recommended) - I leave it up to them!

I can only say... dig your heels in - it's well worth it! I am 8 months free of nicotine today so happy anniversary to me! The NHS smoke stop service really helped me (think about changing your behaviour to break habits - little things like I changed my mug to a cup and bought some quality tea and coffee... that then became a new non-smoking routine so my mind wasn't constantly telling me to smoke every time I went for a break!). It helped me too when I realised I was an addict - not in a oh, yeah I'm addicted way, but in a scientific, look up the definition way. This means that the only way to not be addicted is to not ever have that substance - simple stuff, but it took me a while before that penny really dropped... when it does you're starting to understand what it is you need to do... I can post some more later if it'll help anyone - and I won't lie, it's probably the hardest thing I've ever done... but it is worth it... GOOD LUCK!

I don't think you can ignore BYOD with boarders. We do both here, so we supply 8 computers locked down as per normal with network printing. Then we have our boarding house fully covered with 5 Unifi AP's. BYOD can access a guest wifi network which blocks access to our local subnets. Transparant proxied through our Smoothie. In my experience, nearly every boarder has their own device and letting them use them is only right and proper I think. Supplying some of our own kit is a necessity too, as it allows those without a device access and also we have no method of external access to home folders as yet (Win Server 2012 Direct Access is on the projects list!).

You should be able to get to your domain management page by going to https://www.google.com/a/cpanel/yourdomain - you'll need an admin account to log in... Assuming you haven't got Google Apps Directory Sync or any other third party AD Sync set up, you can easily bulk upload from CSV by choosing Advanced Tools and Bulk Update as in the pic...

Yer, we use sysaid here - not overly expensive and a fairly decent system. We choose it testing against Spiceworks and a few other paid for and free types. Just fitted our needs best...

Yer I know thanks - will be stepping it up after my next donation. @witch - O neg here too - you're quite right about it being universal, hence why it is useful in emergencies when there is no time to cross-match a patient (apparently this happens with babies sometimes). The downside for us is we can only have O neg blood, and we're only 7% of the population! Interestingly I'm sure I read somewhere that with platelets the situation is reversed and we can have any group, but ours is only useful to others with O Neg...
