Had something similar recently too - after testing a new file server by pointing home folder to new server then put it back to old server - some of our older AD accounts didn't seem to like this and the docs would be deleted and also the user's permissions would be removed when they logged in - I implemented the fix here Can PowerShell restore previous versions of files/folders via Volume Shadow Services (VSS)?. I set the group policy setting right at the bottom of that page and it seems to have fixed it for me, although I've had to copy stuff back from shadow copies and fix permissions for about 10 pupils who logged on before I applied that fix... might not be the same problem but might help...

Doesn't matter about esx - the upgrade is capable of upgrading your servers to esxi too - so just do vcenter first and then migrate off one host to stage and then remediate the upgrade with the upgrade manager baseline you've created and assigned. I did mine from 4.0 to 5.0 and it takes care of the esx to esxi issue for you. It's all in the upgrade instructions or readme somewhere - I recall reading it at the time.

Toyota do a good service agreement - we pay £17 per month (for an Aygo) and all our service costs are covered plus we get half price MOTs and a courtesy car. When we signed up for it they gave us a free car care kit and a hefty discount on some work we were having done too. Our local dealer is excellent on customer service and it takes all the hassle out of it.
