Already bought this for my stepson! Waiting for Xmas day and the look on his face.... Then I'll probably have to explain to him that is the best bang for your buck that there is at the moment.

My first role was in a college. It was my first role and I got it because the manager took a punt on me. Sometimes that's what you need. I moved from there to an engineering company. The IT director held the view that any ticket could be completed in 5 mins.... Now I'm joining a proper IT company. I'll post where once I've started.... Don't want to jinx it!!!!

If you can manage it, try to get yourself the CompTIA A+. Qualifications are not the be all, but it does show that you can learn about IT and that you're prepared to study. Also, keep a close eye on the adverts in local papers. That's how I got my first position. Apply for everything and try to let your enthusiasm shine through if you get to interview stage. I'm about to start my 3rd role in IT and I'm very much looking forward to leaving the engineering sector and getting back amongst education! Best of luck to you! Edit: one more thing.... When you are given a chance, grab it with both hands! Work hard, learn as much as you can, and impress with your attitude. Whether it is volunteer, temp, contact, or full time, give it your all. There is nothing better than going for another interview and seeing the glowing reference that a former boss has sent!

Well, there was always going to be someone come up with this argument.... I'm just surprised it took so long! Back to the op... I find it hard to believe that the government (you can add successive before that word if you like) allow prices to rise by that much more than inflation ... but they do. It's no different to train prices etc etc. But lucky for them, they have their big houses and bills paid for by you and me.... though that's ok cos they're politicians and are doing good, instead of unemployed trash who are good for nothing. Pretty sure none of them will have to watch the pennies to pay their heating. .... but you carry on at the unemployed... it must make you feel so holier-than-thou!

Afternoon all, Is there an easy way to prevent updates being pushed through a VPN tunnel? I have a few people who vpn in, and I've finally managed to get WSUS up and running, after it was 6 months out of action (Previous techies had not managed to get it running). However, with so many updates being approved, i don't want thos who vpn in to get flooded. I know that it'll use BITS but it still could be a couple of hundred meg being pushed out. Thanks in advance!

I disliked Murray intensely for that comment during the world cup about supporting anyone but England, but then I read it in the context of what he said and had a good old belly laugh at his sense of humour. One quick hint.... Use social media! @BTCare is the account you want. Whenever I'm having trouble with a company, I go to twitter and start to rant. You'd be amazed how quickly they respond. You might even get stuff done more quickly!
