Hi guys It appears that our executive karaoke machine has bitten the dust. It's stuck playing "I Will Survive" and there are streamers from party corporate poppers stuck all over the control panel with some smelly gunk that I can't quite identify. It's booked out for important meetings all the time, so I'm urgently seeking a replacement. What karaoke machines do you guys have at your schools that you can recommend? I initially looked at the Sing-a-Tron 5000 series, but I've read that the firmware can be flakey and the support isn't very good, so it's perhaps not all that suitable for enterprise use. I also considered the Pitchmaster X10, but looking at the product pics online it looks like it could easily get knocked over and damaged in the hustle and bustle of a regular bi-weekly planning meeting.

John had been a lawyer on the Australian mainland for 25 years. Finally sick of the stress, he quits his job and buys 50 acres of land in the hills in Tasmania as far from humanity as possible. He sees the postman once a week and gets groceries once a month. Otherwise it's total peace and quiet. After six months or so of almost total isolation, someone knocks on his door. He opens it and a huge, bearded man is standing there. 'Name's Cliff, your neighbour from forty miles up the road. Having a Christmas party Friday night. Thought you might like to come at about 5:00...' 'Great', says John, 'after six months out here I'm ready to meet some local folks Thank you.' As Cliff is leaving, he stops. 'Gotta warn you. Be some drinking'.' 'Not a problem' says John. 'After 25 years in the business, I can drink with the best of 'em'. Again, the big man starts to leave and stops. 'More 'n' likely gonna be some fighting' too.' 'Well, I get along with people, I'll be all right! .. I'll be there. Thanks again.' 'More'n likely be some wild s e x, too,' 'Now that's really not a problem' says John, warming to the idea. 'I've been all alone for six months! I'll definitely be there.. By the way, what should I wear?' 'Don't matter much. Just gonna be the two of us.

Me: "Could you please repeat that" Caller: "The local university is running an illegal computer system! They've hacked it!" Me: "How could you tell they'd hacked it" Caller: "Well, when it booted, it didn???t say Windows or Microsoft or anything! It said something about Deviant Linux, I think, and the main screen looked nothing like my good, legal Windows screen at home! I think they hacked that, too!" Me: "Do you mean Debian Linux" Caller: "Yes, that! Is it some sort of computer mafia or something" Me: "Uh, no, it's just a different operating system. Nothing to worry about." Caller: "But it's illegal! It's not Microsoft, not even Windows! They're on a normal Microsoft computer, so they're breaking the law! I think they stole my identity when I came in the building! I'm calling the FBI!" *hangs up*

You have probably heard that a new council tax-evaluation policy proposes to charge us more if we live in a nice area. So surely that ought to mean discounts for those of us who live in rough areas? Well – there is a huge council house in our street and… The extended, dysfunctional family is headed by a fierce-looking old lady with a pack of yapping dogs Her car isn't taxed or insured and doesn't even have a number plate but the police still do nothing Her bad-tempered old man is notorious for his racist comments A shopkeeper blames him for ordering the murder of his son and his son's girl-friend, but nothing has been proved All their kids have broken marriages except the youngest, who everyone thought was gay Two grandsons are meant to be in the Army, but are regularly seen partying in expensive nightclubs Simply, they are costing us a fortune and they are out of control… ... I hate living near Windsor Castle.

Pinched from another forum I use..... It's a slow day in a little Scottish town. The sun is beating down, and the streets are deserted. Times are tough, everybody is in debt, and everybody lives on credit. On this particular day a rich tourist from down south is driving through town. He stops at the motel and lays a £50 note on the desk saying he wants to inspect the rooms upstairs in order to pick one to spend the night. As soon as the man walks upstairs, the owner grabs the note and runs next door to pay his debt to the butcher. The butcher takes the £50 and runs down the street to repay his debt to the pig farmer. The pig farmer takes the £50 and heads off to pay his bill at the supplier of feed and fuel. The guy at the Farmer's Co-op takes the £50 and runs to pay his debt to the local prostitute, who has also been facing hard times and has had to offer her "services" on credit. The hooker rushes to the hotel and pays off her room bill with the hotel owner. The hotel proprietor then places the £50 back on the counter so the rich traveller will not suspect anything. At that moment the traveller comes down the stairs, picks up the £50 note, states that the rooms are not satisfactory, pockets the money, and leaves town. No one produced anything. No one earned anything. However, the whole town is now out of debt and now looks to the future with a lot more optimism. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how the British Government is conducting business today.. Makes you think doesn’t it?

And here's one in return: A Welshman was washed up on a beach after a terrible shipwreck. Only a sheep and a sheepdog were washed up with him. Looking around, he realised that they were stranded on a deserted island. After being there a while, he got into the habit of taking his two animal companions to the beach every evening to watch the sun set. One particular evening, the sky was a fiery red with beautiful cirrus clouds, the breeze was warm and gentle - a perfect night for romance. As they sat there, the sheep started looking better and better to the lonely Welshman. Soon, he leaned over to the sheep and... put his arm around it. But the sheepdog, ever protective of the sheep, growled fiercely until the man took his arm from around the sheep. After that, the three of them continued to enjoy the sunsets together, but there was no more cuddling. A few weeks passed by and, lo and behold, there was another shipwreck. The only survivor was a beautiful young woman, the most beautiful woman the man had ever seen. She was in a pretty bad way when he rescued her and he slowly nursed her back to health. When the young maiden was well enough, he introduced her to their evening beach ritual. It was another beautiful evening... red sky, cirrus clouds, a warm and gentle breeze - perfect for a night of romance. Pretty soon, the Welshman started to get 'those feelings' again. He fought the urges as long as he could, but he finally gave in and, realising he now had the opportunity, leaned over to the young woman, cautiously, and whispered in her ear, - . . . . . . . . 'Would you mind taking the dog for a walk?'
