Hi everyone, We recently got gifted some Ruckus R510 AP's from another school locally, these have finally allowed us to get some Wi-Fi across the site but we have identified some dead spots which need to have Wi-Fi access. Does anyone in the East Anglia region have any Ruckus R510 AP's that are surplus to requirements or are going to be E-Waste that they would be willing to donate to us. Thank you.

Hi everyone, I need help how to configure PacketFence (PF) with Cisco Switch 2960 and an AP in order to control Wireless 802.1x users... Now am stuck when configuration.. The switch not-connected / not-communicated with PF. as well as the AP.. I am newbie with PF.. I have followed the instructions given on PF website (Adminsitration & Network Devices Guidelines), but still cant full functioning.. Either using snmp-server version 1/2c for the snmp trap and else.. Either using 802.1x with MAB (Multihost) or 802.1x with MAB (Multidomain)... I just have no idea about that for now.. Anyone have experienced about configuration with PF?? Thanks in advance

We have twelve Netgear WNDAP350 Prosafe dual band wireless-N access points for sale. All in working order. We upgraded to Unifi before the holidays and I need to clear some space in my office now so these have to go. You can find out more here: https://www.netgear.com/support/product/WNDAP350.aspx Also, two WC7520 controllers - never used but came bundled with some of the WAPs. One has been opened and setup but never put into service, the other is brand new boxed! Looking for £500 for the lot.

HI I was just wondering if anyone could recommend any good Wireless Access Points for use in a large primary school? Ideally they should be easy to set up and the cheaper the better :-) We have laptops and iPads which these would be used for. Any recommendations appreciated. Andy

Ok my situation is this, we are setting up a wireless extension of our network through radio's and We can extend our 1.1 network over to the new location and that will give us data for our computers, but the confusion comes here. we have a phone system that is on our 2.1 network at the base and I wanted to know how could I possibly set up a vlan over the radio link for the phone system when I can't physically plug a ethernet cable into the tagged port since I will already have the radio plugged into the 1.1 network port. How do I get the phone traffic over to the other location also? I know I may not be making this clear, but I just need to know can we route from our switch at the base and be able to extend the phone network with the data network. The radio links are just a wireless ethernet cable they will transport the ip address coming off our main switch and send it over to the new building in the new switch, can we still use our phones as if we are still on the base network switch? I'm including a mini Diagram to give you some type of idea of how the radio links will work Radios.pdf Radios.pdf

Hi I'm in the process of looking to replace our schools aging Netgear wireless kit and looking for something more up to date (N,AC) and allows more devices per AP. What type of kit do you use or recommend? Thanks in advance.

Good Morning All, So I'm having an issue with my network. I have full bars for many students, but they can't get anywhere online. They constantly get the "This webpage is not available" or "You are not connected to a network". I think that there is an issue with the AT&T and TWC hot spots that are flooding our devices on all 2.4 and many 5.0 channels. I try to block them in intrusion detection, but it seems to make the issue worse. When I look at the device I see that I have users on, but they are only on for a few minutes. There are always 1 or 2 users that are on for 40+ minutes, but the majority seem to on for 1-4 minutes. Also I notice that when I go to see who is online, I'll have a few associated and about 400+ unassociated. Could this be cause my device to be maxed out, even though they aren't officially associated. I figure that there has to be some association because there is a transfer of packets, even though they are minute, which is telling the IAP's that they have reached their max amount. Does this sound possible? Please let me know if you have any advice or info because I'm beating my head against the wall. Thanks Cfinch

We have a Cisco LWAPP system with two WLC-4400 series controllers, 115 access points (mostly LAP1242AG and LAP1131AG), and (as of this moment) 650 clients connected. Clients are mainly students' personal devices. Due to renovations, one of our largest computer labs is moving and my supervisor is depending on wireless to avoid having to run cable. I am highly skeptical. These lab computers are the most heavily used computers on campus. They connect via RDP to a terminal server. They will all end up on one access point, I suspect, even if we put multiple access points within the same range. I think that this will produce severely unsatisfactory performance. It's not merely a WiFi throughput issue, though that's certainly a real issue, it's also a matter of how many clients the AP must process. Has anyone successfully run 25 RDP clients on a single Cisco LWAPP access point? Any thoughts or comments?

Right, I’m after some ideas at what APs to get, we currently run some D-Link APs (DWL-2000AP+) that are about 4 to 5 years old lol! They struggle with more than 3 laptops trying to log on and provide frequent drop outs. We can’t afford to spend a large amount on them so no managed solutions so I would like your ideas on what alternatives we have. They/it needs to support up to 30 laptops (in case we buy more) and allow them all to log on at the same time without a minor miracle with as few drop outs (if any) as possible. This needs to be a simple solution that is teacher/pupil friendly as I’m only in the school 2 days a week. Thanks Chris
