Good afternoon After trying several types of projectors we came across the Sony VPL-DX range, at first the picture quality and resolution was fantastic and all the teachers using these units were very impressed. Between 6-21 months later nearly all the units we purchased have started to show a pink blur which then spreads across the screen (see attached) We contacted Sony about the fault and after several emails including videos and pictures they sent a new unit (if under warranty). The ones that are out of the 2 year warranty Sony wouldn't do anything about it, we decided to strip it down and fix it ourselves. The fault seemed to come from the optical block /optical assembly which was cracked, we spoke to Sony about a replacement part and they quoted us £1072.14 plus £9.95 delivery + vat, the entire unit only cost us £350.00 Out of the 21 units purchased nearly all of them has either had this fault or is now starting with it, I wont be purchasing another Sony product. Thanks for reading.

Hi I'm in the process of looking to replace our schools aging Netgear wireless kit and looking for something more up to date (N,AC) and allows more devices per AP. What type of kit do you use or recommend? Thanks in advance.

Thanks all, I'll have a look at the suggested options and see what fits in with our policies.

I'm looking at a way of preventing staff/Students from logging into multiple windows machines at the same time. I've looked at RSLoginLimit which works well but doesn't log off the last used machine, only the one your trying to log into. I contacted Userlock as this seemed to tick all the boxes only to find this to be way too expensive for a school that has over 1400 machines. Any ideas would be appreciated.

[sims] Microsoft .net 4.5.1 update borking SIMS.net- anyone else?
waltflanagan replied to divadiow's topic in MIS Systems
We've been told that the only solution is to remove .Net 4.5.1 and install v4.5. We've installed the following reg key to stop the 4.5.1 update: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\WU] "BlockNetFramework451"=dword:00000001 -
