  1. yes. do you have a Supportnet account? see the thread "Update missing from Repository" in the forum. there doesn't appear to be a quick fix.
  2. understood and apologies.
  3. but it's so useful and it used to be available here http://www.capitaess.co.uk/home/ESSUpgrade.exe
  4. I thought it was an internal-only tool.
  5. I've misplaced my copy of the ESS upgrade and support util. does anyone have it and can they get it to me please? ta
  6. thanks. how EXACTLY does Nova know which database to send back to? where is this specified?
  7. not to worry: Dear David, Thank you for your case. There is an issue at the moment that our Teams are working to resolve. As soon as I receive any information or resolution regarding this I will let you know. Kind regards, Stewart Ivatt
  8. is anyone else in a position to test the WAV - web address validation service is SIMS please? I am aware of this https://myaccount.capita-cs.co.uk/Notifications/solus2-wav-bav-server-upgrade/ but the WAV is failing at all our supported schools at the moment. The LA level filtering has been updated to include ALLOW rules for all the new addresses.
  9. I have Centrastage monitors on the Discover Data Transfer and Discover Group Sync services so if they ever stop, we get a warning email. great. But how are you monitoring whether or not group changes are coming through to SIMS successfully- it appears the services can be running fine, but any number of other issues still stop groups from updating. I had an issue with the scheduled tasks not running because of reported permissions problem- the solution was to export the tasks to xml and re-import. all working now, but there's 6 months of missing statistics. Another recent problem - the script to upgrade the Discover DB to 164 from 162 was crashing out because of an issue with the DAC framework. 'Microsoft.SqlServer.Dac.DacPackage' - I ended up migrating all DBs to a SQL2014 instance to get the DB upgrading.
  10. an idea, but I'd like to remain IN CONTROL. thanks for Azure advice.
  11. Does anyone do this now? any words of advice / wisdom? recommendations / warnings - beyond data protection - hosting with the EU - ISO certification stuff? thanks
  12. no matter- teachers coming through now after I changed the "SIMS services manager" service logon from NETWORK SERVICE to an AD administrator account that has administrator rights to the SIMS2012 instance.
  13. sims management interface?
  14. OK. that's fine. It's just *another* thing that is assumed we'll stretch to cover. However small the amount of support and time it needs, it's still an additional.
