I'll give that a try too, ours is on 2.72 at the moment.. Making progress as I could actually see the traffic go through the firewall on 587.

Afternoon all, Trying to get SMTP alerts (Alert Mail as HP calls it) working on iLO 5. Not having much luck so far. I have another server, which has iDRAC & the alerts on this are working no issue. Using the same configuration, I cannot get the mail alerts to work on the iLO. We use Office 365 for mail, no on prem exchange. SMTP Auth is enabled for the serveralerts mailbox/user i'm using on iDRAC. From what i've read iLO 5 should support this, anyone else using 365 for alerts on iLO? *edit* : Checking logs on the firewall under port 587 I can't even see any traffic from our iLO on port 587. I can however see traffic for iDRAC. *edit2* : iLO NIC DNS was incorrect. Set correct DNS server & rebooted iLO. I am now seeing traffic from iLO IP over port 587 when performing an alertmail test, however no mail sent. Nothing in quarantine either

We have SPF & DKIM setup - Once these changes are in place, are we required to either quarantine or reject on the DMARC policy? Ours is just set to none at the moment & has been for a while

Has there been an official update yet to say service restored? Last email I got was at 8:42 stating there was a major incident.
-
Has there been a downtime this long before? Unscheduled of course. We're doing OK, have all registers printed off, but I can imagine its caused mayhem in some schools.
-
I'd say its a manual thing, seems to be. I just had a notification saying that a Major Incident was resolved, however I'm still getting runtime errors when trying to log in
-
Same here, printing out paper registers ready..

Service is now "degraded" on status page : Bromcom Cloud Status Page

Windows Server: Replacing Server What Best to Do
Olliedawg replied to talksr's topic in Windows Server 2022
I would never in place upgrade a DC, way too risky lol. I'm unaware what ranger is, however my advice would be depending on how much time you have.. The safest option would be to fire the new server up, join to the 2012 domain, transfer FSMO roles across & test. Get everything replicated & set up so the new server is the Primary DC, and so that the new server is handling DNS+DHCP requests. Then test test test - once happy you can work on the rest of the bits (GPO's, shares etc..). If there isn't many, its probably easy enough to just copy the files over & re-create the shares. Also yes, you will be able to use Azure AD connect, doesn't require any special licences. -
Windows Server: Replacing Server What Best to Do

Why do you want to create a new domain? Cant you fire up the new server, join it to the 2012 domain, transfer FSMO roles, DNS, DHCP etc? This would eliminate the need to wipe the 100 devices & rejoin to the new domain. Would save you some work. -
Also interested in this, as we only use A1 licencing

HELP - Network issues and outside help
Olliedawg replied to ITGuyNW's topic in Learning Network Manager
From what you have explained it does sound like a high chance of there being a loop somewhere .. I have had a similar issue before, did turn out to be a loop. Have a good look around site, double check IT room network points, ensure none of the network cables are plugged into a network point at both ends.. -
I'd stick direct with Dell also if it was me. In the situations where you use the warranty, you want it to be as simple as possible.

Our private chat is enabled. Students are however not able to create their own groups/teams, not able to delete/edit any sent messages.. We did disable private chat a while back & lots of teachers complained! So decision was overturned by SLT & I was asked to reinstate the chat. In my 3 years at the school, I have only ever had to ban 1 student from teams chat.

I will keep that in mind! Thank you

1.) We do allow staff to use their personal phones for setting up Outlook with their school mailbox. The device has to register with inTune & meet policies to allow setup. 2.) We have no block in place to stop this, however it is advised to staff to not use non work devices for work purposes. All staff have their own laptop, so never really had an issue with this. The one thing we do limit however, is Bromcom access. This is limited via public IP - so can only be access either on the school LAN, or when connected to the VPN.

I've got 3 IT rooms each with 34 PC's in which need replacing.. I've just finished rolling out staff laptops & staff classroom PC's which meet the W11 requirements. Going to either need more budget, or move to LTSC for the time being in those IT rooms. I'm glad to see its not just me that has the old kit! Cheapest option would be going for refurbs, probably about £10,000 per room..

Contact EverythingICT, they will reach out to suppliers for you & gather a few quotes Failing that, check out HPE Rack Servers on Servers Direct . I've bought a dell server from them before, no hassle at all
-
Sorry I meant Wh lol! Would be nice to have a laptop battery which lasted that long
-
Again if you would consider refurbs, I can vouch for Thinkpad T480's. Bought a fair few of these recently for staff (I even use one myself for work, with 16GB of memory). Slap a larger 56Wh battery in over the standard battery & they're great - easily lasts me half a day with constant use *edit to remove typo*

RM Internet Price Increase
Olliedawg replied to AverageMuggle's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
I've used them for supply+fitment of IWB's for the past few years, never had an issue.. However can't report on any of their other services -
I've only ever dealt with APC UPS's so kind of biased.. but I don't think you can go wrong with them really. I'm looking at changing two of mine out soon-ish, will be going for APC again.
