They asked me if it was possible and I said no as we didn’t have equipment eg webcam - so how they going to stream lesson I have no idea.

 

 

They can stream lesson without the webcam - just stream their desktop and sound, but they would need a mic - another hurdle. Unless the use laptops

I have to say lockdown feels like it is over around me.

There are shops open all over the place and people out around town doing pretty much their normal thing.

My neighbour has taken his kids to the grandparents to stay over night and is now out in the garden drinking beer and "recovering" from 12 weeks of home schooling.

I have to say lockdown feels like it is over around me.

I'm still not going out unless I need to, that is my understanding of 'stay at home as much as possible'.

 

I go out once a fortnight now to give my car a run otherwise it complains the battery getting low (I had key worker status), apart from that it is the food shopping, a run every couple of days. I did go to B&Q the other day though, it was quieter in there than the queue outside suggested due to the social distancing etc.

Edit the post, then scroll down until you see 'Manage attachments'

 

Click the 'Manage attachments button' In the lower half of the pop-up window you should see the 'offending' attachment.

 

Hover over the thumbnail of the image you want to remove and an 'x' should appear to the top right of the image. Click the 'x' and then click 'Done' This should remove the unwanted image.

 

Edit: At the same time you could remove the duplicated message below the "- - - Updated - - -" divider.

 

There is a time limit to editing posts: I don't know how long it takes, but some time after posting (n hours?) posts [usually?] become read only.

No Queuing for ASDA this morning. Turned up at 7:30 expecting to be 50th in the queue, walked straight in as was open and I was at the checkout at the time I would of been entering the store if there had been queues and 8am opening. Edited May 28, 2020 by Davit2005

It seems to depend on the time of day here. A couple of weeks ago I went to our local Sainsbury's at about 9:30 Saturday morning and walked right in. Last Saturday was there after 11:00 and and the queue went half around the car-park (although it probably only took 10-15 minutes to get in).

At least around here, food shopping seems to be getting back something like normal. Heck, we even managed to nab some Waitrose delivery slots.

I had a talk about this with the Business Manager yesterday, and if we want we'll can get masks and gloves, although the rooms should be socially distanced enough that we shouldn't need the mask.

Were also issuing the techs with portable keyboard/touchpad units so they don't have to touch the teacher/student's keyboard.

 

Is anyone else looking at getting thermal cameras. Were getting one installed in reception this week.

Anyway in an actual serious note 4-5 of my friends have now lost jobs so far - not good for them at all and doesn't bode well. I do wonder how the new normal will affect the job market.

There's not been a lot of discussion about long financial damage. Government borrowing is likely to be a long term topic, probably one our children will be discussing a long way in to the future. I expect the more immediate impact will include much poorer pensions for retirees in the next decade. Those on final salary pensions will be better off than those on defined contribution pensions. I have a few friends who think the impact will be at least a decade. I'm slightly more optimistic (something I'm rarely accused of by myOH), but subject to an highly effective vaccine and/or treatments over the next 18 - 24 months, then I think a newly invigorated community drive to get on with life and work will accelerate the recovery. Of course, many predictions prove to be wrong, so I guess I just need wait and see.

You called? Actually, I'm very interested to know what's in the protocol. One thing that's unlikely to have any impact on risk management is pointless paperwork. In truth, what does the presence or absence of a signature mean in reality?
