It depends on if you have used DNS addresses to refer to the server previously but I would keep the same IP address 1. build new server 2. give it a temp IP Address 3. Join to domain and promote to DC 4. Add FSMO roles etc 5. Change old DC IP address 6. Reboot the old DC at least twice - you need to clear all reference to it from AD 7. Wait for replication to complete - about an hour 8. Give new DC old DC IP address 9. Reboot the new DC 10. Wait for replication 11. Demote the old DC 12. Relax Forgot, Switch off the old DC if you don't need it anymore

Be very careful doing this, these are domestic TV's and are being used in a commercial environment and are not covered under warranty and your insurers may well have something to say if one of them catches fire. Whether they last as long as a commercial TV is up for debate but we have always found commercial grade TV's to be the cheaper option in the long run. Edit: To answer the original question, the hassle of replacing projector bulbs, getting them serviced, getting them fitted to the ceiling/wall isn't worth it. Go for commercial TV's. Get the cheapest you can find and stick a Microsoft Wireless adaptor on them to cast too.

My guess would be that when the BBC says IT Department, they mean Helpdesk and maybe second line support. Those are area's that a lot of companies already outsource or expect their staff to be able to fill. IT is really more 3rd line with the idea to minimise all 1st/2nd line support tasks. Edit: it is really an article saying. There is no need for an IT dept because I expect my staff to be able to support their IT themselves.

Scotland might be the canary in the coalmine. They will open schools first and everyone will watch what happens to their figures. We have a 60% increase in cases over the last 7 days in my area so lockdown is still the way to go.

Took my Mum for her 1st vaccination jab yesterday. It was run pretty well, apart from lots of people turning up way too early and consequentially filling the carpark up, so that people coming at their allocated time couldn't get parked. It was odd to see so many vulnerable people all mixing together though. I think once they were inside, social distancing was enforced but in the carpark and walking to the vaccination centre it was bedlam.

We have 2540's as our edge switches and they have been very good. No complaints at all. Our Core is a pair of stacked 3810's which had some issues with needing to update firmware at the start but otherwise have been very stable. When paired with the 2540's it makes a lot of jobs easier, really I can't complain Edit: the transceiver comment above is a good point. We now buy the same model everytime and it has been fine but we had issues with some older transceiver's we had in stock

We dumped Smoothwall for Fortinet 2 years ago and haven't looked back. The price is comparable but the fortigate is leaps and bounds easier to use. The reporting takes some getting used too but other than that it all works very well.

We have just had the same experience with Amazon Prime. They have now classed our IP address as a proxy or VPN and access to their streaming services is blocked. It is causing quite a lot of anger at the moment amongst staff and pupils. Short of regularly changing our external IP Address has anyone been able to make them change their mind and allow access to a streaming service from behind a school proxy?

If you already have HP kit then I would stick with it and go with Aruba so you don't have to learn all new CLI commands. We are just finishing upgrading our Procurve 2510 and 2900's to Aruba 2540's and it has been very smooth.

Ruckus here as well. 124 AP's and just looking to expand that to cover some outlying buildings. Solid and we have had very few problems with the system. If we could have afforded it I would have preferred to go Meraki or Aruba for the extra features but they cost a lot more. Ruckus is a happy midway point. Everytime I have contracted support they have been good.

Check on the pricing but if you get Windows Datacentre that gives you unlimited virtual machine licenses. If you have a lot of VM's it makes the licensing much simpler.
