Spoke to our reseller today, plus another larger reseller. Both said the DfE didn't know any more than them about this (which is very little) and that they can't see a resolution in form of a buyout after speaking to distributors. ☹️

This would be massively helpful here please. We're just stuck in a mess of resignations and ipads at the moment quietly panicking about the wifi!

We're a new install so have support tickets open, but not had any responses since Friday on them.

We're having problems with Screens, and the only way we can get them reliable is to lower the refresh rate in Advanced Display settings. This seems to be a per user, per mode (ie have to do it for both extend and duplicate for each user). Does anyone know how to force that change every time someone logs on? Getting tedious!

We've had a parent funded iPad scheme for over a decade now, but I think it will soon end. The responsibility for off site filtering and monitoring will be the nail in the coffin. Nobody wants a Smoothwall phonecall at 2am for someone in a bedroom who should be under their parents supervision, not ours!

It's been reassuring for us too, as when I asked earlier in the year I only got a couple of replies so was a bit worried. Our install starts in a couple of weeks with Virtue, the cablers are in now.

No help to you at all really, but we're having Cambium AP's and some switching installed starting next week. The reseller's engineers have been very impressed with the training and product from Cambium, but we've yet to properly try it ourselves in anger.

Is it user profiles duplicating? We have that sometimes and it messes OneDrive up.

I'm in the middle of this myself for my Mother in Law. The only way reliable I've found is Google Takeout then upload to iCloud website. This only allows 1000 at a time though upload.

Adobe Reader possibly, or might be Edge. We've yet to physically see it, but at least 10 staff have reported it (badly....)

We have an issue here with pdf files. When a teacher opens one, it also also opens on any other device they are logged on to. ie open on laptop at desk, and it opens on the PC displaying on the TV display in front of the class. I think it's with files opened from attachments or downloaded, rather than already stored. Any ideas?

For home use, I've had one to trial since before Easter for potential 6th form use (instead of iPad + Keyboard, nearly same price). Basic 256gb one. I also have an M4 Macbook Pro that I usually use. Day to day, I've used the Neo so far without having to swap back to the M4 for anything. Not tried FinalCut, but have done basic stuff in Logic, used QLab and done everything Office (installed) wise, plus usual browsing/films/downloading etc with no noticeable issues. For us, as an alternative to a ~£330 ipad package, the ~£405 Neo looks a no brainer for 6th form use as a personal device.

The acoustic tiles/boards aren't for sound PROOFING, they're great at sound TREATMENT (ie noise in the same room). PROOFING is as you say, insulation, thicker walls etc.

Bodet too, as said, not cheap, but it's replaced all our clocks, bells and introduced Lockdown and Tannoy.
