Hi all,

My Huwawe P8 lite 2017 has only 16gb internal storage and is starting to limit what I can keep installed app wide, there is a microSD card fitted for photos etc, but still the internal storage keeps alerting me that it's almost full :(

I'm on giff-gaff, as is the rest of the family.

I'm looking at what I've can upgrade to, research is pointing me to a Moto G6 plus.

Has anyone got any views?

Not looking to pay more than £250 and I'd put camera quality up as one of my main requirements. I play golf once a week and do like to take course shots and videos.

Any input appreciated.

The Moto G6 is highly rated as a camera phone.

My daughter has the Moto G6 PLAY variant, and this has massive shutter lag, so stick away from this particular one.

Yup, that's noted in the reviews - it's quite different to the regular G6.

@bossman suggested the Cubot range on a similar (non-camera specific) thread: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/general-chat/196389-new-phone-time.html#post1678967

They're on my list for when my phone needs to be retired. Though maybe by then someone will have released a phone that runs W10 "full fat" version.

This review marks camera quality as a bad :(

I've got the Moto G6 Plus and it's got a good camera. Much better than my old Nexus 6.

Thanks, do you find much camera lag when taking outside photos in decent light?

Looked at the Nokia phones? We have got a batch of Nokia 5s that have been solid. We are looking at the 5.1 now and have got a Nokia 7.1 for a marketing bod who wants to take photos and video. The 7.1 is just shy of the £300 so the 5.1 maybe the way to go, at around £150.

The 5.1 on Carphonewarehouse only has 16Gb storage - the 7.1 camera looks very good and has 32 gb - stretching my budget to 299 but it comes with a blue-tooth speaker that might be handy

I've got the G6 Amazon version. Camera is ok but not amazing. The G6 plus has the best one in that range and its good.

I've got the amazon version of the G6 as a work phone, also got my dad and my daughter one too. Def worth going for over the non Amazon version, as it has twice the storage space.

I've found the camera to be pretty good, and heard no complaints from my dad who takes a lot of pictures. They do occasionally reduce the price on it, think I paid £199, so whatever phone you go for may be worth waiting till black Friday?
