Hi all, Could do with a bit of help on troubleshooting this..... I'm trying to https redirect a sub domain to a Sharepoint site (tenant.sharepoint.com/sites/my-site) and am getting the browser error: ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR in all browsers. I'm pretty sure this is due to there not being an SSL certificate on the sub domain. There is an SSL certificate on the root domain however. Not certain it applies to sub domains though. Something is wrong with the https handshake it my reckoning. Funnily it works in an incognito window, but give the 'This site is not secure - Continue or go back' message, continuing loads the site. The domain host is 1&1 / Ionos. Anyone run into this? I could do with eliminating anything before I commit to buying the SSL certificates - I have a few to do. Cheers in advance

Hi all, Has anyone run into this .....? I can't find a workaround. This is regarding Co-Pilot age restrictions. (Minor, Not Adult etc). I'm successfully allowing only year 9+ to access CoPilot from: CoPilot chat, CoPilot app, Teams, waffle button in e.g. Outlook etc. I'm syncing MIS student users to M365 via Locker. Setting an attribute in Locker that changes the 'Age Group' property depending on their.... erm.. age, which in turn restricts them from accessing CoPilot from some of the above... except Outlook. I'm also setting the 'Department' attribute to e.g. 'Pupils year 9' to create dynamic security groups. In M365 admin centre / Settings / Integrated Apps / CoPilot I'm only allowing staff and specific year groups to access CoPilot. This all works as planned. However, a LARGE snag when students NOT in the above list try and access Sharepoint sites, Class Teams, etc etc. Has anyone got this working without breaking everything ? Cheers in advance

Hi all, We want to enable allowing CoPilot chat for students years 9-13. The only meaningful thing I can find to allow it is downloading a spreadsheet of users and updating the age field in their Azure user... setting to NotMinor. I've done this manually with a couple of users and it still won't let them access. Preferably I'd like set an attribute with our MIS sync to set the age. Has anyone done this successfully... ? Hi all, We're migrating Google ---> M365 for students this year. I've purchased Locker to do the sync from our MIS and create the Teams. Before I initiate the first sync, can anyone tell me if it is possible to create a class Team from a template with a customised home page? I want to template the home page layout, banner, assign teacher name in the web part, team calendar and a couple of other web parts. E.g. the aim is to reduce the teachers effort in customising the home page for every team they own. How do you guys and gals do it ? Cheers in advance

Hi all, In the process of trying to devolve on prem AD and other servers in favour of Entra/Intune and am hitting a wall with a couple of things. Printing..... Currently using PaperCut MF with Sharp copiers. We're a few versions old on this one. PaperCut (via Sharp) want to charge us for the years we haven't updated MF, which is about 3 years worth, which would apply to changing to Hive I'm presuming. We've got mobility print that we're using on a few non AD devices but its a bit faffy to set up on a large number of PC's. We also need scan to email and a client on the copiers. A requirement is print accounting... to charge departments their monthly print usage. Does Hive do this? Education Pro (Impero)..... What's the situation deploying this in a non AD environment? I'd rather stick with the product but obviously not if its not going to cut it. Its pretty shonky as it is. Can anyone offer better solutions that are working for you. Cheers in advance.

I would say ignore the DfE specs... they are guidelines, not outright requirements.. Aim for a minimum of 40gb backbone to future proof... even if you don't have the cabling in place yet. Avoid Unifi (wait for the shouting at me.... don't bother). Its not enterprise grade equipment... it's just cheap/cost effective. You can't even stack the switches.. a basic feature... although it is cheap. Unifi switches are OK... but just OK, AP's are terrible. No network expert would advocate Unifi. A lot of network gear nowadays is subscription based management and its a filthy way of vending products, and massively expensive. My tuppence..... Cisco, Aruba or whatever mainstream brand doesn't require cloud management/subscriptions. Ruckus seemed good when I last looked. www.performancenetworks.co.uk have been really helpful to me and have hooked me up with meetings with manufacturers to thrash out the right spec for Wi-Fi and switches.... and they'll do a survey/analysis for you at not a great cost. and... wait for the impending Unifi bashing.... EDIT: Just read the TPLink/Omada bit in your original post.... don't go near them

Hi all, Can anyone shed some light on this ???? I have a L3 Cisco switch at the core that is handling all my VLANs, VLAN routing and ACL's. Clients have the VLAN gateway address of their VLAN. Cisco: Next hop address is: 0.0.0.0 ---> Smoothwall. Smoothwall is configured with virtual VLAN adapters to return Internet back to the correct VLAN.... All is good. However, pinging the gateways on the Cisco is dropping a lot of the ICMP packets. Wireshark shows that the Cisco is redirecting some ICMP packets to Smoothwall... believing it to be a more efficient route than itself?.... the ICMP packet is then lost as Smoothwall isn't returning it to the host. I'm wondering whether this is causing other network packets to be dropped. Anyone got a similar setup or shed any light on why this is happening? I so wish routing could be turned off in Smoothwall and it would JUST be a filter/firewall. Its a pain with other routers on the network. Cheers in advance

I'm getting odd ICMP packet drops on VLAN1 from our L3 core switches. I wonder if Maiden 33 is the problem. I wish I could turn off the routing in Smoothwall and just let our real routers do the work. Its a pain.
