6Foot2 Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Thin, even covering that came down about an hour ago. It has made it very slippery. More (heavy) snow expected around midday. Early closure, perhaps?...
ataylor Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Just annoucned our Snow day - Woohoo Although our website provider (E4Education) can't seem to handle the traffic this morning, even their own site is down. Disappointing considering the amount we pay them! 1
elsiegee40 Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 -8C! And another inch or so of snow down overnight.
Seb1780 Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 We have another Snow day 😁 Snow day here too
BKGarry Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 And we are shut too, I had to send out the text and email, but ironically I do not have access to the website to do that and someone else has to (no skin off my nose). bad news is I have book of mormon tickets for tonight!!!!!
witch Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 -6 here. No snow as yet but I have never known it so cold. The dog got a very short walk this morning!

No more snow predicted for Kent today. You may make it
caffrey Posted February 28, 2018 Author Posted February 28, 2018 6:10 check to see if school is shut, school is open. So I get ready for work early to fight my way in as it's quite bad out there. Scrape all the snow off the car, attempted to reverse off the drive and got stuck - tried my hardest to clear off the drive so I could leave but it wasn't having it. By now I'm totally frozen. So I admit defeat, then I check traffic and travel and noticed that the school had decided after all to close Oh well snow day it is
kd1982 Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Morning all, It seems to me that all e4education sites are down or struggling to load - anyone else seeing this..? Thanks Kd
6Foot2 Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Morning all, It seems to me that all e4education sites are down or struggling to load - anyone else seeing this..? Thanks Kd I just tried www.e4education.co.uk: It wouldn't load. @kd1982: This might have been better as a new thread (not absolutely sure as I don't use e4education, so could be 'snowy stuff'?)
ataylor Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 I've been trying to submit a news update on our site since 6:30 this morning >.> I can't get them on the phone either, lines are busy - someone else must have beat me to it!
ShellfishClive Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Snow day for my biggest school. I literally can't even get out of my street, just wheel spin in the middle of the hill I live on.
GiggleKitteh Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 About an inch of snow overnight in west London. Fell over walking to the bus!! I can do a week of skiing including walking on snow/ice/slush on steep hills and not fall but I can't cope with a small amount on a flat surface in London?
6Foot2 Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Our office overlooks the Year 8 playground. Lessons have started, but Year 8 have left their mark in the thin layer of snow we have at the moment by tracing the outline of 11 large comic-style phalluses. How delightful! 1
Joanne Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 You know it's getting bad when the snow is sticking to the grit on the path outside your window!! Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease don't trap me in school snow!!! 1
bald_pig Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 We had an early close yesterday and snow day today, with heavy snow forecast for later in the day.
HTCPCP Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Well, Great Northern showed they can actually run trains where the heating actually works in Winter! Who'd have thought it? Couple of cancellations, and the odd delay, but improved compared to normal service!
witch Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 "The South West could be one of the only areas to escape the snowfall " *sigh.....
elsiegee40 Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 The snow we have is really dry and powdery. It squeaks as you walk in it. The sun is out and it has warmed up to -5C here (just before 10am) We dug Mr gee40’s car out first thing, but I retreated indoors and warmed up before doing mine. I shall brave the roads in the next hour b
clockend25 Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Plenty of snow in Rugby overnight, but not much here. Tomorrow and Friday look interesting though.
3s-gtech Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Still paltry here in Mid Wales, very light dusting with continued light snow. Very cold though, which will be the real impact - while we won't close, the site will still take some making safe and we have to keep the kids in.
AJWhite1970 Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 "The South West could be one of the only areas to escape the snowfall " *sigh..... Pop up and see me @witch, we've got plenty here already. That 15 miles as the crow flies and 300 feet above sea level from me makes a massive difference to you down by the sand

I'm basically just down the road from you.... only a light dusting of snow here! 1
AJWhite1970 Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 What!? I'm basically just down the road from you.... only a light dusting of snow here! Big pocket of snow came through from Andover to Downton/Fordingbridge and out over the Island, we have several students and staff MIA from that area today, my route in was interesting until I hit the A338 and then it was OK
HarryMonkey Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 This was Bedford this morning. I understand it's still snowing there.
