PowerBI Pro is included in M365 A5 licences but not in M365 A3. Premium provides capacity but users still need a Pro licence. I asked about Premium user licences a while back and was told they didn't exist yet. That may have changed by now.

Have used VIP previously via Jisc/Chest. Only used this when we needed licences and couldn't wait for the next ETLA purchase date. ETLA - Can only purchase twice a year VIP - available all year ETLA - Can only purchase for staff FTE VIP - purchase quantity needed Cost per licence - VIP is nearly double ETLA!! Worth noting that Chest/Jisc are currently negotiating a new ETLA agreement with Adobe so some of the above may change.

Shared device licence is based on staff FTE but then covers all staff and students on your machines (and staff on their own machines). It also overrides the named user limit on the number of machines the desktop parts can be used on. Would strongly recommend seeing if you are eligible for Chest. I'm at a university so we use this route.

One thing to watch out for with SDL. Students will get full access to Adobe Creative Cloud on an SDL machine but no access on their own machine unless they have their own named user licence. We will be advising students not to save anything in their creative cloud account that they want to access on their own machine.

Java are changing their release schedule to quarterly, hence the increase in version numbers. Versions 8 and 11 have long term support. Versions 9 and 10 don't, in fact support for 9 has already ended. On top of this is the change to charging in the link at the top.

Last I heard this was supposed to be available in February. Was just told there will be a solution for those who don't want/can't afford per user licensing for everyone (staff and students), no detail of what it would be.

Have you considered specialist software? We have ZoomText screen magnifier, Jaws and ClaroRead screen readers installed on all machines with icons on the desktop.

I need to get information from SCCM on software installation and usage but I have no experiance with SCCM. Can anyone point me to a suitable "dummys guide" !!! I think I will only need to use the SCCM viewer. Thanks

About an inch of snow overnight in west London. Fell over walking to the bus!! I can do a week of skiing including walking on snow/ice/slush on steep hills and not fall but I can't cope with a small amount on a flat surface in London?

Be careful using cat litter. A lot of them are clay or gel based and can make the ground even more slippery once they've absorbed water (this is the voice of experience talking!!!!)
