In our case we see no change. Students are only prompted for MFA when logging in offsite. So they'll continue to use their phone for MFA purposes. Although we'll supply tokens to any student that doesn't have one.

I went down the Certificate Authority route for this. For background we have a single SSID and then NPS directs things(based on policy) onto the appropriate vlan. Domain joined devices have a certificate from our CA and authenticate themselves with that, then get assigned our domain laptop vlan. BYOD users authenticate with their own username & password, then get put on our BYOD network which is almost it's own walled garden except a setup that allows papercut mobile printing. Guests using issued guest credentials then go into the guest vlan. ACL's on the core switch prevent BYOD or guest devices from getting onto anything internally(except the papercut thing for BYOD). I can't comment on the smoothwall side of things as that's not something we use. We've got a Palo Alto box and the Aruba ap's integrate directly and pass the username & IP Address of devices as they connect/disconnect, that sort out the filtering side of things.

Before I log a support case with Microsoft, has anyone been having problems with teachers emailing their class Teams this year? We have the usual Salamander & SDS setup and make sure all class Teams have the 'Send copies of team email & events to team members' inbox' box ticked. However the emails seem to just disappear. A message trace says the distribution list was expanded, but none of the student actually received the email.

Running a Aruba 4506r ZL2 core with 9 CX6200F's. They're configured in one stack of 5 and another of 4, each connected. We have the single server/switch room, so they're connected to the core via 10Gbps DAC cables. We are moving to a new site next summer though and we're being given new switching as part of the build, not 100% sure on models yet but it's definitely Aruba.

We're a 6th form and all new year 12's are given £5 print credit. Once that runs out they topup via ParentPay which we then add to their Papercut account. Tends to be quiet most of the year, with peaks of credit being added in the runup to exams.

Was just talking to our site manager about this, he said even with full staffing we'd have to close because there'd be no lighting and the batteries for emergency lighting would have run out after a few hours.

I've done an in-place upgrade running their newer ImpactFusion system, took a snapshot of the VM beforehand just in case but in the end everything worked perfectly. Although this was going from Server 2019 to 2022. If you pick a quiet time and take a snapshot beforehand, if it does mess up you can just revert to the snapshot.

Alternatives to Clickview
chris11256 replied to Supermanpunch786's topic in Learning Network Manager
Never used Clickview, but we use eStream. Teachers love it, MFL, English and humanities have built up quite the resource archive! We pay £3K per year for the cloud hosted version, that's for the basic media library, TV recording module that has the BBC digital archive and allows recording up to 30 days prior, then finally the digital signage module. -
OneDrive/SharePoint drive mapper - which one?
chris11256 replied to mdrabble's topic in Cloud Services
With Cloud Drive Mapper that'll be the local hard drive/ssd capacity & free space rather than the users actual Onedrive. -
Thank you! Will have a look tomorrow. It's been a long day & I also completely forgot I can just filter in excel & bulk delete the home ones.

HI All, We're very new to Bromcom(went live last week) and have migrated from iSams. Is there a simple way to export student email addresses? I've found the Manual Data Export button within the student panel, however this also includes a students personal email address. In iSams the export could be filtered as to whether you wanted the personal or school email. Is this possible in Bromcom?

Same here, none of my 2019 servers are finding it via WSUS. -
welp, VMware is dead to me...£3920 per year! 5x the old cost!
chris11256 replied to chazzy2501's topic in General Chat
We're in the same boat. Not paying the rip off renewal price and considering swapping to Hyper-V. Not doing a hardware refresh through, so would need to be done in place. -
In terms of overall onboarding, HR put a schedule together for the persons first day, so meeting with IT, DSL, Line Manager and such.
