Is anyone else finding it ironic that @Tesla is not driving an electric car?

Aye, true, but my name is more based around the Red Alert game, not the Car Manufacturer :p

If you like the look and aren't too worried about the performance and drive, go for it. They're not a bad car, but it's not a sports car and most hot hatches will show it a clean pair of heels.

I'm currently looking for a replacement for my slowly dying 2001 Zafira DTI, it's been a great little workhorse but it's having real issues starting if it's been left for more than a few hours and it seem no matter what I try and parts I replace it doesn't get any better :(

So I'm looking at either a Zafira VXR or and Audi Q7 as I still need 7 seats. The VXR's are rare as rocking horse S**t and the Q7 just seems like too nice of a car for the abuse I'd be giving it.

Not to mention the electricity to charge it too....

Yup massive con really. Especially when other car companies such as BMW and Tesla aren't making anyone "Rent" the batteries. Nissan Leaf is ugly anyway IMO ;) Wait for the Model X...!

Compared to some of the EVs and hybrid vehicles out there, the Leaf is a bastion of beauty. Anything by Toyota makes me want to reach for the eye bleach, the new Prius and the FCV being two particularly horrific examples. I don't know why they think that electric has to equal fugly.

I just got some bad news that the gearbox is on its way out on my Galaxy, £300 quid for a recon. No way not at 190k...

Cant make my mind up... Audi A6 Avant Allroad.... 2.7 or the 2.5TDI....

I'm thinking the TDI as It'll cover the mileage better!

Just need to find one local.

I'd be really careful about a second hand allroad... those air shocks are a weak point and are £300 a corner.

I've got the A6 Avant SE 2.5tdi and it's good for 32mpg around town and 40mpg on a run, the 2.7, not so much!

Yeah thought the 2.7 wouldnt be that economical.. 20mpg at best I guess. I really do fancy an Audi this time. Never owned one. the 2.5 does look appealing.

true about the Allroad I guess... what does the Avant SE have that the standard version doesnt ?

Whats the 2.5 like to live with ? What mileage have you done and whats on the clock ?

The SE is just a trim level - it's got electric most things as standard. The standard one doesn't necessarily come with electric adjust seats, electric rear windows, heated seats, heated door mirrors, dog guard, climate control or cruise control - but they're options, so a basic one might still have some of them!

I've done 16k in 2 years and it's just started moaning that it wants a service. the car has 207,000 on the clock.

I bought a new car at the weekend as the Old faithful Zafira DTI was having real issues starting and kept going into to limp home mode on the motorway so I Picked up a Newer Zafira on my way back from Bristol yesterday but this time went with the 240BHP VXR model, it's so much fun seeing the looks on some of the Beemer and Audi drives faces when a 7 seat wagon won't disappear out of their rear view when they press the go pedal.

oh it's so much fun, I was half tempted to put a GSI Turbo engine in the old Zafira just for the sleeper car lols but went with the easier and no doubt cheaper option of buying a new one.

TAX...

My 1.8 Zetec focus costs £280 a year.

My 4.0 V8 Jag , Costs £280 a year....

Insurance... Same.

Fuel, well the jag is about 50% less efficient.

How are you paying £280 a year on tax.

My Nissan 350Z 3.5 V6 is £280 every SIX MONTHS!

Posted
TBF, i'd probably be happy with a 2L, the tax is marke don auto trader as 280... I've only had a quick look at these but the prices are very tempting........

I think you would be disappointed with the 2.0L the 2.7 V6 sounds nice although still not that quick.

Perodua? More mini than a Mini!

that's because calling a mini a mini is silly they are not small cars look at the silly 4x4 estate one pulled up alongside my old ds3 and its wheels were about level with the bottom of my window how is that small. As they are so big and pinching from rover/Austin heritage I vote we rename the metro or allegro lol

I've always thought of calling the new (not so mini) ones "Maxi"s - but that just makes them sound like some kind of sanitary towel

I also believe they should be tiny, otherwise it calls into question the very nature of language!

I also believe they should be a protected geographical mark, so you wouldn't be allowed to make them unless they are badly made by a militant union member near Birmingham!

The Maxi was an actual thing, kind of the opposite of the Mini.... It was terrible!
