sted Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 My 1.4 54 plate clio gets around 34.2 mpg (according to the trip computer), no idea if that's any good for a 12 year old car or not. i get 38-39 from my 64 plate fiesta st (1.6 turbo), i got (this is approximate historic data on cars long gone) high 30's on a 2001 1.6 fiesta zetec s & 2004 focus st170 2.0 dont think ive ever owned a car that could average 35 (at least since i have spreadsheets going back till) and both dervs 1.6 ds3 61 and fiesta zetc s derv 1.6 were mid 50's

You go fast, slow down or stop then accelerate to high speed again. One of these days, I'm going to go the same way out of Milton Keynes as I do in to it.

One of these days, I'm going to go the same way out of Milton Keynes as I do in to it. Aye, it also wreaks havoc with tyres. Some of the roads are now 40 MPH, and i think that will only increase. (the amount of roads at 40, not the speed limit increasing xD) sounds like 34.2 is quite rubbish then, still, not bad enough that i could bring myself to sell it and buy a newer one, i just can't justify it.

Boredguy Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Piffft, at least we have the magic roundabout and pancake roundabouts to keep up entertained (pancake roundabouts are the ones that appear magically just out of paint!) But yes roundabouts don't do fuel economy much good especially when there is one every 100/200 yards.

At least country roads look different.

Just had to replace two snapped coil springs thanks to the councils new policy of letting the roads turn in to the surface of the moon.

Speaking of which my suspension makes a horrid noise if i go over a bump too briskly... Also @PrimaryNetMan (off subject)....if you're from MK...did you go to all the e2bn meetings when MKSchools.net went down the pan? If so i think i remember you (something something something twitter recommended you), if not then I apologise. XD
