phreak Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 Loving the new season of GOT. A great first episode to pull you back in. Now the weekly torment for the next episode begins. Started on a new season called Blood Drive. Quite a gory little bit of TV but entertaining. Imagine The Gumball Rally/Death Race, set in a dystopian near future. And an added twist that because fuel prices are so high the cars have been altered to run off of human blood instead.

That looks like trashy fun, but I've got way too much stuff backed up to watch when Mme LeMarchand isn't about (she was appalled by the trailer) to add another that isn't world-changing.
mavhc Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 Just finished American Gods S1, good, but a bit slow in places. I learned that it's really annoying to have to carry your own arm while walking home after being killed in a car crash, in heels.

Saw the trailer for this over the weekend.. It looks stupid. But the kind of stupid that you could just veg out and watch and not pay close enough attention to the 'plot' to pick out inconsistencies or plot holes.
phreak Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 That's pretty much it. It is not the sort of show that you will pay too close attention to, but can be entertaining. And yes, I can imagine some people being appalled by it as it does take the gore to another level in parts. Another show that someone recently recommended to me and I have started is Power. Kind of felt a bit like The Wire, but from the gangsters perspective. Only on season 1 and so far it is ok. But nothing ground-breaking about the story type. One show though that I highly recommend (although you may want to go watch some of his stand up first to see if it is your cup of tea) is The Jim Jefferies show. Another in the line of American late night comedy talk shows taken over by foreigners. But as I knew him before when he was a stand up comedian I like his stuff and his little rants he goes off on.
ICTDirect_Dave Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 Finally getting right in to season two of The Expanse. Great mix of Scifi and politics. It's very pretty too

Danp Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 Don't get time to watch much TV apart from F1 and MotoGP. Currently (slowly) working our way thought Breaking Bad again then move onto Season 5 of Orange is the New Black.
LeMarchand Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 On GoT, whilst I did warn Bonus Daughter #2 that she might want to go out of the room for a few minutes when the she sees Arya on a horse as the following scene was the most horrific of the series yet, I do think it's a bit sad that Ed Sheeran has got so much abuse for what was supposed to be a nice birthday surprise for Maisie Williams.
HarryMonkey Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 Please can we move any GoT posts to a separate thread, some of us are having to watch it on catch up and don't really want to read spoilers in a non GoT thread. Thank you.
Simcfc73 Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 I've sat through Preacher S1 the past few days.... very weird and a great ending. Looking forward to watching S2 1
DalekSec Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 I've sat through Preacher S1 the past few days.... very weird and a great ending. Looking forward to watching S2 I'm fully up to date on Preacher, S2 is just as good as S1! If not better
LeMarchand Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 Didn't care for the first ep of Preacher and only watched the second this week. Much better! Loved the chainsaw fight!
sparkeh Posted July 21, 2017 Author Posted July 21, 2017 Took me a couple of episodes to get back into Preacher but S2 is looking good [emoji3] Got Rick & Morty pretty much on repeat now, it's the best squanch on TV. [emoji16]
CAWJames Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Z Nation - Zombears, Zomdogs, Zomnami, ZomStripperz, Zombaby and freaking radioactive glowing zombies. It might be made by the same people who made Sharknado, but loving this show
sparkeh Posted August 1, 2017 Author Posted August 1, 2017 Wubba lubba dub dub! S3 E1 was a great start [emoji1]
Garacesh Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Wubba lubba dub dub! S3 E1 was a great start [emoji1] S03E02 S03E01 aired on April Fool's Day.
sparkeh Posted August 2, 2017 Author Posted August 2, 2017 S03E02 S03E01 aired on April Fool's Day. Not on Netflix which is where I get it, only ep1 available currently and aired last Sunday [emoji1]
DalekSec Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Not on Netflix which is where I get it, only ep1 available currently and aired last Sunday [emoji1] I found ep2 on YouTube and via various pages sharing it on Facebook!, Netflix is a week behind unfortunately :/ ain't nobody got time for that!
jdoyle Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 going back to my early years and watching the Combat series on YouTube.
LeMarchand Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Finally finished "Class". Surprisingly gripping ending to the season (or probably series); I thought for a while that it was a bluff and not an ongoing series as the entire cast looked set to bite the dust at one stage. Unfortunately the show was badly let down by some the "fresh outta drama school" level acting. Only recommended for "Who" completists. Have also been catching up on "Breaking In" (short-lived geeky workplace comedy from a few years back). Amusing enough time-waster.
Simcfc73 Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 Midnight, Texas Has potential Just watching EP2 now...agreed it looks good. Why cant they have a clean shaved hero though.
