No I visited each device as I was updating them anyway and just ran a scrip to copy all the stuff I needed across... I use the devices for ewxams so I copied start menus across at the same time. When you say your getting failures what do ytou mean? The little green P in the tray is all I use to make sure its working.. we do have the occassional print queue error but I usually just restart the spooler on their device and send a blank word doc and it pushes the rest through.

I put it in the startup script for the shared desktops we have which is very few. As we are mostly 1:1 its just sits there working. I did read somewhere they are looking at rolling this out so it sits on the device and just talks back when someone signs onto the machine but can't find it now.

I managed to get another 30 day trail for apple tv so bingeing the new series of Slow Horses (excellent) and need to try and cram in the last series of Ted Lasso (it finished so well so not sure how they can do this).. Silo (watched the first series).... Matchbox (seems daft fun)... the ryan reynolds film (looks fun)... and pluribus (saw the first one free on Prime). I did intend to feel ill today and spend all day watching tv but my wife is a childminder so its more peaceful at work than sat at home.

Evening, I'm trying to find a laptop charger for an old Stonebook Pro P103A laptop I've recommisioned for my kids. I did buy one online but It won't go in properly..... so I bought a pack of adapters and none of them work... they almost go in and do charge but they aren't right. I don't think it's damaged... Anyone got one lying around I can buy

Hi, Can anyone recommend a company that buys old kit that they have used before. I haven't got much but I did remove my ME4024 over summer which is still under warranty so hoping to get a few quid for that. Bit too heavy with the drives to put on Ebay

I put it down initially to the teachers renaming their teams and the Notebook was mismatched.. the user had loads of unlinked documents. Its only a few using it fully so hopefully its back to normal now. I agree, its not the best

Just in case anyone is using the clunky Classnotebook in their school and has had issues the past week I had a reply from their tech support today saying its had an issue for a coupel of weeks. Please be informed the issue with distributing pages is a known issue. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your continued patience and understanding. Our Engineering team has been actively investigating the page distribution errors over the past three weeks, with dedicated engineers working to identify the underlying cause. During this time, several smaller fixes have also been deployed to help address the symptoms while the investigation continued. We believe we have now identified the root cause and began rolling out a fix on Monday morning. Unfortunately, an unexpected issue occurred during the deployment process, which resulted in the Class Notebook toolbar temporarily not appearing in some regions. The toolbar issue is now nearly resolved worldwide. Once the recovery is complete, we will be able to further validate whether the fix deployed for the page distribution issue fully addresses the root cause across all affected regions. The deployment is currently halfway complete, and the early results are promising. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as our Engineering team continues working to ensure the issue is fully addressed. I understand how important page distribution is for your day to day teaching activities, and I truly appreciate your patience while this work continues. As soon as we receive any confirmed updates regarding the rollout or a projected completion timeline, I will share them with you immediately.

Just out of curiosity I'm investigating how hard it is to get data out of iSams. I can use the export to excel functions pretty easily but things like the linked documents, Sen data seem more difficult. Anyone moved away from iSams?

This what we use. The biggest issue is intune can take a while to deploy when someone logs on. We are almost 1:1 so it works ok The recent updates seem to improve it auto-link-users-when-deploying-papercut-hive-client-with-microsoft-intune (1) (1).pdf

We automated it all so no emails were needed but we are using Intune.

It seems to do what it says on the tin. You can import groups and add restrictions/balance/overdrafts to them. It even does automation to add a balance each month. I decommissioned my on-site print server over summer, so all cloudy cloud now.

Papercut have released an update with groups now which seems to allow billing per group. I had to remove my old link to entra and use the new one but seems to work.

Hi Has anyone got any experience with these lights? I've just been giving our lighting some tlc and one of them is making a loud buzzing noise. When I've taken it down it looks like the zoom motor is stuck.. removing the cover didn't really show anything obvious as it's a different mechanism than the tilt and turn motors that are belt driven. Just wondered if they are fixable.

Hi, I've only worked here a year and I'm still finding stuff. I've just been down to one of the doors that wasn't responding in net2 which I couldn't ping. Took the cover off... NIC is flashing so traced the wore to this little beauty. No markings or brand.. just flashign away screwed in the roof space. Theres no power to it so presume its a poe switch repeater type thingy. I think the security firm must have wired it in cos I have no idea where it goes. There is a VLAN setup for net2 but over half of the devices are just sitting on the main vlan which i am slowly fixing. Fun Fun Fun

Evening, I've got a bit of a weird issue. 2 kids came to me today who can't connect to the student wifi that's assigned to their devices through Intune. I can't work out why they won't connect. Yesterday I was playing with Central as I wanted to try and stop them from connecting to the guest wifi network when the password had been accidentally shared. I was trying to work out mac filterig but gave it up and put everything back. So these 2 clients can connect to other wifi networks on the same APs, and I've reset them, so think I can rule out the device. The DHCP server is fine. I've restarted the DHCP server and checked other devices get leases so that seems fine. It seems to be pointing to the Aruba AP (which I've rebooted). I can see the log on central from the AP's saying connecting all the time (on the right VLAN) Oh and intune reports the newly installed device as 100% compliant with no errors. Not sure if it's something wrong on Aruba that I am missing.. the behaviour is the same on all the AP's. No errors on the DHCP server either... in copilot didn't help (dont think it knows central) Anyone seen this before? Just remembered, I didn make a capture portal on Central but its not assinged to anything

Morning, I managed to get Senso locking down my desktops for the exams period and all is good. We moved to Hive at Easter which I didn't have time to deploy so I just used a simple script to install the printer on logon. I'm back looking at it and wondered if anyone has worked out how to get Hive working in a locked down enviroment. Senso have been good finding out all the exe's I need to allow which I've put in a allowed app policy which allows the Hive app to start. The issue now is to lock downthe interent so they only are allowed to the Hive websites (which is fine) but they have to authenticate with Microsoft which is not working. I'm trying to work out how its allowed at present to auth with standard users as I can't see that my predecessor has opened up the Microsoft URL's. I did test a few sites but it seems to have allowed copilot to run on the web which obviosuly is a big no no. I did look at the cloud filtering logs but it didn't show anyuthing blocked. Anyone got any help or advice?

As a footnote, BT said they update the policy the day before and everything was configured correctly. Now either someone is telling fibs or their policies take 12 hours to apply. I think someone didn't press run on their end and they don't want to get into trouble.

Yep, still really slow. They said they did some testing last night (twice) and to retest but still slow. I would have hoped even through the Smoothwall it would show some improvement
