Thanks for the replies, really helpful. So more testing. Devices on the old LAN in the 10.13 range get sent to the 10.13.88.26 SW Lan. All other devices 10.200 / 10.30 /10.20 all go out on the 10.100.100.2 SW Lan. VLan 10 is a 255.255.252.0 subnet. The SW port 10.100.100.2 address assigned to it is plugged into the core switch with VLAN 50 tagged, VLAN 20 tagged. The SW port 10.13.88.26 is plugged into another switch with VLAN 10 untagged and VLAN 30,40,50,60,168 all tagged. So because the switch port is untagged on VLAN 10 connected to switch all traffic goes out through that on that VLAN? Actually... port B1 which has the SW port 10.100.100.2 plugged into it is called routing and is untagged (was on page 2 of the gui so I missed it)

Hi, I'm trying to get my head round how this network I've inherited works. Aruba switches with Smoothwall. The Smoothwall has 2 internal interfaces. 1 10.13.88.01 2. 10.100.100.2 I can see 2x transparent proxies setup 10.100.100.2:80 with Core Auth setup and Allow transparent HTTPS incompatible sites 10.13.88.01:80 with Core Auth and Block no SNO header traffic. I'm trying to work out how traffic is routed to each one. VLAN 10 is the main LAN - DHCP dishes out the IPs on the range with the Router set to 10.13.91.231 which is the core switch IP address for the VLAN VLAN 20 is the other VLAN - DHCP out the out the IPs on the range with the Router set to 10.20.0.1 which is the core switch IP address for the VLAN There's one IP route on the switch - ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.100.100.2 I'm trying to work out how traffic is going to one smoothwall port and not the other. I was told that guest traffic didn't need cert for blocking... but I am sceptical. I can see some tags on the core ports connecting to the smoothwall but its messy. The Smoothwall port for 10.13.88.01 is plugged into another switch with VLAN 10 untagged which I presume is how its getting the traffic?? Writing this down sort of makes it make more sense..

Hi, I've inherited a smoothwall at my new school so having to relearn stuff from years ago One thing I've found is that alot of the users are in the unauthenticated ip. We use AD and the unified client on all the devices. We are Vlanned up to our eyes and all the subnets are set. I'm unravelling how is all been set up at the moment. Sometimes the block page has the SSL logon and other times not. Very confusing. Anything obvious I need to check? All the directory service are green... And the devices are intuned

Hi, Having a bit of a mare at my new job. The intune setup was already done when I arrived but wasn't setup for shared devices. We added the shared devices policy but it stopped OneDrive working and messed up explorer so we took that off. They are set as shared devices in autopilot and the company portal states they are shared devices but on a few a user will log on and if they don't log off it stays on there account even after a reboot or shutdown and I can't get it off without getting the user to log in then off. Can't see how to change it. We've also got an issue with it not signing into edge so they don't her their favourites or auto sign in to MS stuff. It says it's blocked but a policy but the policy is setup correctly. Also, how do you deal with papercut..the logon prompt is annoying and randomly the computer asks for admin rights to install the printer. A colleague made a script to install the driver via the portal but that randomly fails. First time using intune.. really could do with a rsop type tool to see if anyone has setup policies previously that's messing things up Appreciate any guidance.

Thanks for this. Bitlocker it might be. I removed the group from policy and have tried 3x but its still failing. Might not have waited long enough BitLocker CSP: TPM not used for protection of OS Drives, but is required by policy. FveStatus 0x3006421 These were setup externally so I am doing a OOBE run but the event logs date back to them

Hi, I've just started a new job which has all its intunes setup already by an external company. I'm slowly getting my head round it but the laptops we've had delivered are all failing when it gets to the device setup security policy phase.. they just pause permanently until I kill it. I've tri e to find some audit logs but alcant find any. The continue anyway button is there but if I click it then they go straight to a username and password prompt which I don't know what it is. Long shot but anyone got any ideas? They are setup to autoenrol... They are on intune in autopilot and the device is listed (they were prepped off site).

It's a freesat box.. it's whenever anything is plugged into the lan port it blocks the wifi and I have to reboot it. My daughter's laptop won't connect either. It's fast on the ones that do connect EDIT: Adding the secondary wifi doesn't work.. still won't let me connect the Freesat box over WIFI on the secure or less secure one. .. allows me to hotspot my phone though.

Hi, I've got 5 massive UPS batteries that I inherited the my new job. Can anyone recommend where to get them recycled. I don't think my local tip will like me taking them. I've still got the boxes but I cant see if APC takes them back the website says look at the docs and the docs says look at the web. Thanks in advance.

2 hours on chat.. they were taking over 5 mins to reply to anything. 2 possibilities as I've got it working now. 1. I unplugged the Google nest that lives next to it and more likely I unplugged my sat box that was hard wired into the router. When I turned these both off and rebooted it's been stable... Put them back on and back to nothing... I did add a static IP and managed to get into the router before.. going to need to add compatibility mode as my sat box doesn't see the new wifi.

Hi, Just got round to plugging in my upgraded BB from Vodafone and it's new wifi7 router. Can't get it to work.. been on to the call centre twice who reinstalled the firmware remotely and went away for 20 minutes. Seemed to work for a second then dies . Connects via ipv6 so no ip 4 address for me to connect to the router which is weird. It did connect once as the last on the phone got me to reboot the router from the gui. Anyone got one and is it working? They are saying it's all working their side (reading from a script). I've installed the dongle 4g backup but the internet lights are on so I imagine that won't kick in.

Quite enjoyed this. Great chemistry between the leads

Superman. Loved it, but I went in with low expectations though. Not perfect but a good comic book film. Real shame as the cinema had about 12 people in it.. no wonder they are struggling. ( Daughter bought a £6.20 slushy so they are getting a decent mark up from that)

Found a USB adapter which fixed it.

Hi, So I found an old Xbox 360 and some games that I thought I'd give a go at. No power cable so I bought one off Amazon and it powered up ok. Now I've never had one before so I plugged one of the controllers I found with it into the usb at the front but the menu wouldn't move. It does turn the console on when I press the x on the controller though. I don't have any wireless controllers and the other controllers in the box have weird ends ( I've seen adapters for them to connect to usb) Is it worth persevering as I'm concerned the USB are all shot and I'm wasting my money. I did buy a USB controller from game today but I may have the wrong one.. works on my computer though if I decide to play old halo on it.

Just finished The Good Wife before my last day at work.

This is turning into the LeMarchand thread I watched Warfare last night. First film in ages that I wasn't doomscrolling on my phone at the same time. Just superb war film with some amazing performances. The action scenes are some of the best I've watched.

Is my number worth £280 to me 🤔
-
Yes, I've got multiple accounts so have to do it online.. but when you go online the only options are to close your account and request a PAC

Morning, Got a strange situation. I have a mobile that's paid for by the school, which I ported my number onto for a smooth transition. Now the school is closing and the contract will probaly be swallowed up by the insolvency firm i'd like my number back but they are saying I need to pay off the contract. Does anyone know a way around this? The contract has £280 to pay on it and the phones not worth it. They won't allow me to privately take over the contract either without paying it off.... which is pointless. Can't I port a number in and port mine out?
