I started tidying a bit last night... I love the image resizer and agent ransack to find duplicates. I'll migrate all the students then let the staff do their own. We aren't migarting the shared drives this year which is half the battle.... especially with PE taking loads of videos for moderation. Not sure what to do about the address book too.. probably over thinking it tbh.

Morning, I'm in the process of migrating our homefolders to OneDrive. I've looked at the migration manager agent and need to look at what to do with the students Gmail accounts... whether to migrate the contents or not. (we are a small school so tempted to manually move them). The biggest issue I can see is the downloads folder.. Its redirected to a folder inside their home directory and I never purge it so some users have big folders.. well over 3Gb. Just curious if anyone doesn't migrate this folder and keep it on site... may complicate things tbh.

Hi, Our SLT are looking at Easy4u to supply laptops for all students. Just curious about the licensing as I haven't used inTune before. They say they can configure it all but obviously I need to know what they are wanting to do. We only have P1 and the Office 365 A1 Plus for students licenses so we'd need device licenses? How does the MDM work when they take the device home? What freedom do you allow? Can you have different time restrictions.? I've probably still got my group policy lock everything down head on so need to readjust. Any insights would be useful, thanks

Argyle (Apple TV - sky has a 3 months free offer) Sort of enjoyed it... Just weird though.

Watched the first 2. Very impressed. Never played the game so can't compare but it's got alot of potential. Lots of funny bits and very stylish.

My network is pretty simple and has 2 dhcp's. Window server for all my domain machines and My Sophos FW has 2 ranges for wifi guest access which are on seperate vlans. My Sophos box does the routing of very limited intervlan stuff.

Roadhouse (2024) Not sure what to make of it, there's some fun bits in it but it lacks the charm of the original and CM is just awful in it.

The gentleman was superb.. really enjoyed it.. probably my favourite this year alongside slow horses. Just starting 3 body problem.. going in it blind which is always the best. Finished halo series 2 too.. glad I never played all the games to get annoyed.. think I played 2 years ago but can't remember much. Seems to leave open for series 3 to be like the game.

The flash (sky movies) Much better than I thought it would be.

Morning, Has anyone else had issues where the calendar doesn't allow you to click the calendar to select a different date? They've asked us the usual (clear browser cache, try a different user etc...)

I'd hate to see everything computerised. I've got 2 daughters and its hard enough to keep them in the real world as it is.

Beekeeper - really glad it was free. Jason is too good for this. And as for Jeremy irons.. I might watch die hard 3 to forgive him.

I echo this.. the way it writes back is confusing and it relies on teacher doing their jobs right. Not overly impressed with the fire evacuation module either. The Classcharts app is so much better for this.

Redcare monitored alarm and BT Analog > Digital
Simcfc73 replied to Koldov's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
We got rid of Redcare ages ago.. The alarm company added a 4G sim card and an external antenna with a IP backup. -

That's what I'm doing. I've been trying to flog the old Netgear stuff on Ebay. Got about 7 more to go (GSM7224R mostly) Whenever I add a new Unifi switch it makes the topology map look prettier and easier to manage. Haven't delved into routing yet as I only just got a USW-Pro-Aggregation to replace a M5300-28GF3

Evening all, After a bit of advice as I've ripped out my old Netgear switches and put in some nice and quiet unifi ones. I've got a aggregate switch and a mix of 48 port poe ones and standard 24 port ones. I have looked at stp and wondered how others have set this up with redundancy. Have you changed the priority of the switches? Not sure if I want loads of disabled ports for redundancy or just link everything back to the aggregate switch. The UI is really good though, very impressed... Especially now I have a l3 switch. (I know alot don't like them,.but my role has diversified and I love the simplicity)

I watched the first episode but forgot about it. Took me a while to realise its the guy from community which i binged during covid.

Finished Percy Jackson last night. My daughter is obsessed with it and the squeals and shrieks all the way through said she enjoyed it. it did seem very rushed and could easily have been 10 episodes. She was a bit unimpressed with how quickly they ended the final fight scene but all the elements were there. and she loved it.

Hi, We are moving to teams from Google and we've invested in Salamander to get it all synced properly. I'm struggling with the admin part and the policies which should be easy.. might be me but it seems overly complicated. When i look at the messaging policies I can see the names of the policies MS has got by default.. If I click on view groups I can see I have assigned them but when I click on assigned to users and the view users everyone has been added. (It shows the filtered by and messaging policy - Education_HigherEducationStuident with all the users in it including the staff)... same for all the policies. Is this right or is it a bug?

Interesting, we are 75% Unifi and might look at moving our FreePBX over to unifi talk. Bit of difference in price on the uk store for the unlocked/locked phones.. £70 vs £190.. do you need the dream machine for the unlocked phones?

Morning, I've got a strange issue. We recently swapped our copiers and desktop printers in school, the desktops are the Xerox VersaLink C405 model. I've never had an issue with deploying printers since I moved to printermapper but these are doing funny stuff. For some reason its deploying multiple copies of the printer with Microsoft Enhanced Point and Print driver with the same share name. it deploys one with the real driver and 3 using the PP driver. I've tried the PS driver, the PCL driver and the v3 driver. They are really difficult to remove also, the GP remove all doesn't get rid and the script I've used previously doesn't either. Anyone seen this? I think possibly the V3 printer works but i can't remove the others without ripping through the registry.

Took my daughter to see Wonka.. she is 8 and loved it and so did I. Its not a classic but its just really nice and easy viewing with some funny bits in it.. actually liked the songs too. There's alot of mixed reviews online which I really shouldn't take notice of.

Yep, don't want to spoil it though.

Reacher season 2. Lovely terminator quote which made me smile.
