waltflanagan Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Hi I'm in the process of looking to replace our schools aging Netgear wireless kit and looking for something more up to date (N,AC) and allows more devices per AP. What type of kit do you use or recommend? Thanks in advance.

synaesthesia Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 UniFi at both primary and secondary levels. Work wonders at a fraction of the price. Couldn't possibly recommend any other system for primary schools without special circumstances/requirements.

DaveJ2717uk Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Got Cisco here not that great but had to have it as the school is a BSF build. Getting rid of BSF but the Cisco kit might have to hang around for another 12 months.

Blue_Cookeh Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 UniFi APs and a UniFi Outdoor+ (coupled with an airMAX 120 degree sector antenna) to cover our playing field, all powered off Toughswitches so we don't have a mess of horrible PoE injectors. Works flawlessly for our multiple SSIDs/VLANs/WiFi phones

DCUK6 Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 I've gone Unifi AP's here. Seem to work well apart from the latest update which knocked out my wireless printers. Our LEA is buying Meraki for the entire city, alot of money being spent. Spoke to another school and they have Meru and its not working well for them.
