Hi,
I have taken a backup of a virtual machine using windows server backup both the host machine and the virtual machine are running server 2012 r2 and the virtual machine is running in hyper v. I have then taken a copy of the backup and tried to restore it to a server 2012 r2 hyper v host in our workshop. first of all i tried using the restore function in the windows server backup program, this didnt work as it was saying it couldn't find the backup. i then tried creating a new virtual machine and booting from the vhd file in the backup. the machine boots up fine but there is nothing on it, no active directory no home drives or shares. if anyone has any advice on this that would be great. we are running VMs in a few of our schools and should the physical server go down i would like to be able to just take the backup and restore it to a different server running hyper v and have the school back up and running again.
Hi,
one of our schools has an old website that they wish to take down but they have no documentation on it, and they cant tell us who is hosting it. All they know is the website address. how would we go about getting this website taken down for them? any advice would be great.
Have you checked the load balancing on the access points? It maybe that the AP's are limited on how many clients can be connected at the same time, this can cause issues like those you are having.
Hi,
I usually find the only thing that will force a shut down on a server is Windows updates. Did the server start up fine after you hard powered it off?
Our schools have a mixture of Netgear, Ruckus, Meraki, Unifi and Meru. To be honest Meru and Unifi are the best in our experience, no problems with these and so easy to add additional AP's if required.
Not sure if this will help, it appears that the only way to reset the admin password is to contact the support team.
Lexia Learning
Go to the above address and try calling them, can't think of any other way i'm affraid.
We had a similar problem in one of our schools with laptops connecting through a netgear wifi system. Turned out to be problematic access points causing the problem. We changed the AP's in the locations that this seemed to be happening and this solved the problem. Some of them needed firmware upgrading on the AP's also.
Hi, We have had a few issues with Lexia in the past and find that if you email their support they are very good. You can reach them at [email protected]
Hope this helps
