  1. Is it fair to assume your location from your profile flag?
  2. You would only possibly experience an issue if it's 'grey'. HP are starting to push back against products bought from non UK authorised resellers.
  3. Could be a sticky client scenario. Check which AP it's associating with via the controller. Which Wifi is it?
  4. Whilst they are more expensive, Patchsee cables can be a godsend, even if they're only employed for critical links.
  5. Interestingly nobody has mentioned Ruckus or Fortinet. Vendor supported bids through a decent reseller should put them all in the same ball-park. 802.11ax isn't ratified yet even though many vendors have '802.11ax compliant' kit.
  6. This statement is from HP's website on Lifetime warranty products. Bear in mind that the 1920 1nd 1920 went EOS 2017. "Limited lifetime warranty (where applicable) extends only for as long as the original end user owns the product and is limited to five (5) years from the end of sale date." Hope this helps.
  7. Hi Ian, here's a quote from the Cloudpath datasheet which answers your question about social media onboarding. Hope this helps. Nick SELF-SERVICE ONBOARDING AND DEVICE ENABLEMENT Easy self-service onboarding ensures that users gain network access quickly and securely—without help desk involvement. Optional pre-boarding lets users set their devices up for secure access before arriving at a given location Device provisioning capability can prompt users to install specific software during onboarding Customizable onboarding portal for guest access—including optional social login with Google, Facebook, LinkedIn and other popular identity providers Guest credentials via email, SMS,or printed voucher
  8. You can hire an OTDM by the day from some places.
  9. Have you considered a dedicated unit from someone like Fortinet? https://www.fortinet.com/products/ddos/fortiddos.html
  10. Brocade (Now Ruckus) ICX 7150 is a great switch at great value.
  11. As a very early poster said, I’m surprised you ripped out the HP kit with its lifetime warranty. However, to all prospective buyers of the secondhand kit, HP’s limited lifetime warranty is only valid to the original purchaser as far as I know. Read the small print carefully. 1. Limited lifetime (for products purchased after December 1, 2014 the warranty extends only for as long as the original bona fide end user continues to own or use the product) 2. Limited lifetime (for products purchased after December 1, 2015 the warranty extends only for as long as the original bona fide end user continues to own or use the product, limited to five (5) years from the end of sale date.) 3. Limited lifetime (for products purchased after November 1, 2016 the warranty extends only for as long as the original bona fide end user continues to own or use the product, limited to five (5) years from the end of sale date.)
  12. You will know what you want reagrding coverage and density. You may want a physical controller or a VM based one. You might need cabling to AP positions. You might not know where the AP positions are so you might want a pre-site survey. You will want vendor support for 1,3, or 5 years. You will probably already know whether you need 2x2,3x3, 4x4 etc. You should really have a discussion with a VAR or even a pre-sales visit
  13. Not through a VAR worth his salt! e.g.R510 less than £300
  14. Do you have a reason for moving away from Meru? BTW Kieron, it’s ‘their’.
