Hi I have been asked to deploy Python 3.7.4 by the head of Computer Science. After visiting the Python.org website it appears that there are no MSI installers available for download for recent versions of Python. I wondered if anyone has a Python 3.7.4 MSI that I could borrow please We are currently running version 3.3.2 Unfortunately we don't have SCCM or any third party tools to wrap the EXE. Thanks

Hello! I have been asked to run a KS2 Coding club (starting tomorrow, nothing like short notice eh!) and I'm looking for suggestions and recommendations on what free websites are out there to use? I'm hoping to identify a group of children to become 'digital leaders' to pass on IT skills to younger children and run this club as a curated group, rather than a baby sitting service So far we only use Code.org, which is awesome! and free iPad apps such as SpriteBox, ALEX, DaisyTheDinosaur, BeeBot/BlueBot/etc. We are a chromebook (and ipad) school so websites with Google SSO would be fab. Suggestions are very much appreciated, Thanks!

Hi All, Stackoverflow looks to be blocked by multiple internet filtering sites and I understand the general premise of the site, but am I putting the network at risk by allowing students to view the site? Thank you, Matt

Hi everyone, I'm putting together a website for visually impaired leasrners and carers and want to put a button - or set of buttons - on the top of the page so user can select font size and background colour. I found this poage on Action for Blind People which would do the trick Accessibility statement and options | Action For Blind People Has anyone put this kind of resource on a website and more importantly, can you tell me how you did it - or point me in the right direction? Many thanks, Ian

Can somebody help me create a form that gets the user name, and the last URL and sends it to an email? Both of these should be hidden though, so all you can see is the send/submit button. It can be coded in any format, and we use exchange if that helps? Thanks.

Hi, Has anybody here had any experience using Codecademy for schools over here in the UK? We're looking to license around 300 pupils at the moment, and the closest thing I can get to a price, is their website that says TIA, CP

Does anyone have any experience of using Discovery Education content for a MAT across primary and secondary. I heard the Coding content is good for KS1&2 and Espresso news is good, but not hearing great things about the secondary content. I used Clickview before and liked that. Any advice or alternatives to look at?

Couldn't decide which section to put this under - please change if incorrect. Until now, we've had Chrome Developer Tools disabled by GPO, but our ICT teacher wants it allowed for his coding class. It used to allow downloading of YouTube videos which obviously was bad, but I understand Google have now stopped this being possible. Anyone know if there are any other reasons why it'd be a bad idea to allow access to it? Many thanks in advance, Meldrew.

Hi everyone, next year we're going to be starting a computer science course and we've been approached by teachers with numerous requirements including access to many IDEs (like Visual Studio, Pycharm) for various programming languages (C, Python, Java, VB etc) as well as a requirement to be able to do some basic networking setup. Currently we have VirtualBox available which we use to allow students to mess around with an expendable XP image, but that's about it, it doesn't have network access (the function is disabled). Is anyone else doing anything similar? If so what software are you using and how do you keep security tight? Cheers, Gary

My SQL skills are more than a little rusty (in fact, it's been at least 5 years since I last looked at SQL!) and I'm struggling to get a statement to work the way I want it to, can anybody help? It might help to know I'm doing this as an Access query, although I was under the impression that Access has no problems handling SQL in the same way a server would (correct me if I'm wrong!). What I have is 3 tables, 'Students', 'Achievements' and 'Behaviour'. All 3 have a column for 'Admission', and this is how the 3 are joined. From 'Students', I want to get the 'Reg', 'Surname' and 'Forename'. From 'Achievements' and 'Behaviour', I want the sum of 'Points' for each individual student between certain dates (a form pops up before running the report this query is based on that passes these dates to the query). So, on to the statement I've tried (It's not exactly as I originally typed it, Access seems to automatically format it when you exit SQL view): SELECT Students.Admission, Students.Forename, Students.Surname, Students.Reg, Achievements.ADate, Behaviour.BDate, Sum(Achievements.Points) AS SumOfPoints, Sum(Behaviour.Points) AS SumOfPoints1 FROM Achievements INNER JOIN (Behaviour INNER JOIN Students ON Behaviour.Admission = Students.Admission) ON Achievements.Admission = Students.Admission WHERE (((Achievements.ADate)>=[Forms].[ReportFilter]![txtStartDate] And (Achievements.ADate)<=[Forms].[ReportFilter]![txtEndDate]) AND ((Behaviour.BDate)>=[Forms].[ReportFilter]![txtStartDate] And (Behaviour.BDate)<=[Forms].[ReportFilter]![txtEndDate])) GROUP BY Students.Admission; If I try to run this query, I simply get the error "You tried to execute a query that does not include the specified expression 'Forename' as part of an aggregate function." Any ideas? I'm getting a real headache over this one, I really wish I'd done a bit more with SQL over the years to keep myself up to scratch!

i need help and was wondering if anyone has any ideas on this one i need to create an if statement for moodle that will look at the current user login and if they are a site administrator it will give me back a different result. i know it will need to look like this if ($user->???? == ???) { WHAT I WANT TO HAPPEN } else { WHAT I WANT TO HAPPEN } does anyone have any ideas on how to fill the blanks?

have a site (was a template) that is fine with firefox, chrome, and safari. but for some reason, IE9 won't display everything. it's missing the logo at the top that is within the header, and the tabs are unlabeled. site is We Are TV - Home if anyone wants to see if they can help out.. appreciate it!

Can somebody please recommend me a free (decent) online course or good book that I can use to learn python. I am interested in learning the language but I'm not too sure what is the best way to go about it. If someone could help me out that would be great. (This will be my first language. No prior programming knowledge)

I've been wanting some fun games for python. Please tell me witch version it is for.

I'm really sorry, I know this isn't the right forum, but Edugeeks have been so helpful before I thought I'd give it a go.... I'm not a geek I'm a school governor. ICT at our school is pathetic - it based on the OCR board and it's dull, the course materials are laughable and there's more or less no opportunity to learn to code. It turns many more students off computing than interests. I feel that it should not be even leading edge to teach code at KS3 & 4 but the ICT staff are utterly resistant. Does anyone know where coding is being well taught in secondary school? What examination boards are used? Thanks for any pointers.
