I ignored Docker completely and stuck with the usual XAMPP route.
-
Free version of PDQ Deploy will do that.
-
Maybe wait until next months updates and try that one?

[ms office - 2019] Installing 2019 with custom options
ITGuyNW replied to Warwick_Tech's topic in Office Software
Where would they find it if they have no access to C:\ ? -
I found the best way to remove the apps was to remove them from the wim. There was some software recently released called wimwitch. Solved all my problems.

[ms office - 2019] Installing 2019 with custom options
ITGuyNW replied to Warwick_Tech's topic in Office Software
Yeah if we want to run a "remote" install with Office 2019, I do it through PDQ which copies the files first to the local machine then runs installation. I just find it easier to go the CDN route. -
Yep, on 1909 here.
-
Literally c:\logo.jpg in that same GPO setting.
-
We always have the logon background stored locally on the PC. If it ever needs changing we just do a file copy with PDQ.

Profile Types - Are Mandatory / UE-V really the way forward?
ITGuyNW replied to CyBeRkId2002's topic in Windows 10
Same as you Chuckster in that have no issues at the moment with Roaming profiles. I was going to look at UE-V, but like you said it's no longer being developed! -
Everything still on 7 here and will be into next year. Had to await money for server upgrades and I've not been totally happy with W10 deployment.

I'm in two minds whether to go 1909 or LTSC. LTSC obviously isn't aimed at Education and doesn't have the Store etc but it runs so well and the Start Menu works straight away. 1909 has all the bells and whistles but getting it stable is a nightmare. Ideally I want to be on 1909 but is it worth the hassle?
-
Hi How did you setup a local Start Menu redirection?
-
For those who charge for replacements, what have you priced them at? £5 a mouse etc?
-
Yeah same spec as other PCs. i5 4570, 8gb ram, 250 SSD, the same as everyone else. Usage seems fine! - - - Updated - - - Thanks I'll give that a go!

Hi all, We have a user who is reporting that SIMS (hosted in school) is slow. When I have watched them work, it does lag between sections, choosing students etc. No one else is reporting this issue. Apart from the usual reinstall etc, is there anything else I can look for to improve performance? Any cache stores anywhere? Thanks

WSUS ...what WIN 10 EDU Products to choose for updates.
ITGuyNW replied to WCHS_Panthers's topic in O/S Deployment
I've just setup a WSUS server and just checked the Windows 19 1903 option as we are just using the 1903 variant here. I don't think we need to check anything else.. -

ITGuyNW replied to Koldov's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Yeah this. If you login with the original info you can get the correct certificate. -

Did you use the same apple login ID on the push portal to renew the certificate that you used for last years one? -
Every teacher has a laptop. If I had it my way, every room would have a desktop instead.

Hi all, this is probably a really easy one as I can't see the answer anywhere! If I boot to MDT via PXE, I get a GUI which let's me either continue onto deployment (where I am asked for credentials before selecting a TS) or I can Exit to Command Prompt. How do I stop any access to CMD? I'm concerned that someone could get into MDT and use CMD for nefarious means! Thanks
