I'm not even sure how to word this, and I'm having issues concentrating today but I have a row like headers Number, col1,col2,col3,col4,col5 150,1,1,1,0,0 And I would like a sheet to take that data and do this :- Number,col1 150,1 150,1 150,1 150,0 150,0 Eg split the columns into separate rows if that makes sense Can't for the life on me work it out today!

Hi Could someone lend a hand with excel issue I'm having? I've got 2 lists in a workbook (example attached) what I'm trying to do is match the firstname and lastname columns and add the email address to the list with the form column. I've been trying to use vlookup, in D2 =VLOOKUP(A2:B2,J2:M3,3,FALSE) which shows a #Value! what am I doing wrong? or is there another way of doing it? Thanks email_example.xlsx

We're having a more and more pravlent problem of users being unable to print to our central print queue from Excel. It works from any other application, and they are able to print to PDF from Excel. An Office repair will usually resolve the issue for a day or 2, but the problem then reoccurs. There is no rhyme or reason around who is impacted by this as it seems totally random. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

So we have Office Pro Plus 2019 installed on domain computers and staff and students can install Office 365 at Home. We have students that are making Access files at home on 365 but they can't open them in school. Access says "The database you are trying to open requires a newer version of Microsoft Access" I've checked Office updates and it tells me that the workstation is up to date (Version 1808 (Build 10378.20029 Click-to-Run). The file is an accdb file which 2019 should be able to open and we have at least 6 students with the same issue with different files. On a workstation that has Office 365 installed (using a staff members license) the file will open ok. Any ideas what's going wrong? Should 2019 be able to open the files from 365? Should I be installing 365 throughout? Do I need to add something to allow 2019 to open the files? Do the students to do something to their files before trying to open them in school?

Any sensible way of splitting a mail merge document. I need to save it out as separate files to send via parent mail. So far I see installers, addons and pdf splitter web program. I saw a tutorial on splitting headers in Youtube but it didn't work with our document. is there no native way of doing this without having to trust some obscure program from a random website. I couldn't find anything in the office store either.

does anybody have a fix for permission issues when distributing pages in OneNote a teacher has this issue and here is the error message

Hello, Firstly, I am not 100% sure of the expected behavior... but... Is it possible to make Office 2019 (Word/Excel etc) automatically sign in to OneDrive, so when the user opens Word it is automatically signed in and they can access their files online? If so, what settings do I need to configure? I have SSO configured & working. It's starting to drive me crackers. Thanks

Hope someone can help, as I am now scratching by head and pulling my hair out. We use Outlook 2019 linked to Office 365 Exchange, we suffer from (clients in school only) with lagging, slow to open emails, send emails, moving between emails. This isn't an add-on issue (there aren't any running), we have recently upgraded to a 1Gbps Lease line and it still happens. I am testing at the moment and I am the only one here, the bandwidth isn't in use, but it lags, locks and goes 'Not Responding' or you get the donut of doom. When you are outside of school using Outlook, using the web version it doesn't happen. I have got all the Microsoft sites whitelisted into the exceptions list, so they aren't going through the proxy, the bandwidth usage in non-existent. But I can't work out what is causing it to happen, staff are used to it locking up occasionally, but now we have a new lease line I am going to struggle to justify why it is happening? Outlook isn't running in Cache mode, so it's not a server latency, we are running a new Smoothwall S9 box but we still have issues - only with Outlook. Anyone had this issue, any Thoughts?

Hello, One of our departments uses a Access database - Worked fine for years. This year we have updated our Office to 2019 64bit. (Not by my choice) When we open this database file we get this error. I have seen some bits online but unsure where to add the statements in. Any ideas?

I am moving us to Office 2019 this summer as the local college we partner with is updating their curriculum to 2019. I recall when it was first released several threads on what a PITA it is to deploy and a complete changes of how it has worked in the past. I’m looking to avoid most of those by learning from you that have gone before me. I think the two questions I have after reading documentation and threads are; Use the CDN or some other update method? How do I license / Activate? I have an o365 subscription but don’t think I have many licenses assigned. It was forced on us with the license renew so I just use a few Azure / Intune features. Our email and most productivity is done in GSuite. I have SCCM updated to the latest version 2002 and I also use PDQ. My normal update / image process is to install the base image and tweaks with SCCM, then call PDQ for the application set. I looked through the online config tool, however when I got to the license setting it had shared and device license grayed out. I’ve seen threads on here that said set device license to 1 in the xml,I’ll want to use AD Activation. The MS article deploy office 2019 for IT Pros says I can use a configuration wizard in the office 365 section to deploy 2019. The articles says 1710 is the minimum and 1806 is required. Am I overlooking the obvious, I have a 365 management section, but not install and I’m not finding anything in the management that will allow me to install it. How do I handle updates or keep the install source updated. Back on office 2013/2016 I had a script that pulled the updates into a folder then when the installer was run, it installed all those updates at the same time. Can I just run the setup /download configxml to update the local install folder before a reimage project? If I deploy from a folder, can SCCM handle the updates or should I go back to the CDN for updates? I have a cachebox, so bandwidth shouldn’t be an issue, but I’m sure local would be faster when imaging a lab Thank you

I updated a couple of rooms to Office 2019 x64 over half term and its not going well. Access - for some reason its coming up with an unable to communicate with OLE server.. I found out that if you open IE first it lets you through so a filtering issue. Powerpoint - wasn't letting them open a PP from the link, they have to open PP first then browse to it Word - permission issue with compatibility mode meaning they couldn't save as.. very weird issue so ended up copying and pasting to a new word doc Word - Trying to print kills Word, the print driver is the latest so need a workaround for that too, Fun fun fun

On opening Outlook it immediately stops responding for at least a couple of our users. Not having the issue on mine however. OWA and phone app work fine. Any ideas, something to do with specific rules?

Out of idle curiosity ('training' day today) I decided to toy with the idea of getting our estate on to Office 2019 (currently Office 2016). I thought I'd jump on MVLSC and download the MSI to give it a quick blast on a test machine.... Well, that escalated quickly and now I find myself in a world of 'Click-to-Run', Deployment XMLs, Office Deployment Tools and the Office Content Delivery Network (CDN)... What the actual heck is going on here....? I feel like an old man having been transported to 2259 and also like a deer in the headlights of an oncoming car at the same time. As usual, my research has left me with more questions than answers, not helped by the usual MS 'help' docs being less then helpful! From reading this: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/DeployOffice/office2019/deploy I gather that apart from being 'Click-to-Run' (whatever that means - per user license?), I can't deploy it by the usual MSI or manual methods or type in a serial key (MAK) to activate it, or use WSUS to control updates to it... it has to get install files and updates from the CDN (although I can create more work and download them to the network - what happens if they click to run whilst at home?) and I have to get all the above set-up before I can even deploy it to one machine to test it... However, MVLSC does have an ISO available (and the ODT): Also WSUS does have the product listed: Anyone got a really simple way to explain all this (otherwise I'm sticking to 2016 until 2025)? EDIT: Just to note we don't have SCCM or anything like that for deployment...

Hi For some exam laptops, I need to turn off Spell Check in Office 2019. As far as I can see this is no longer possible. Has anyone managed to do this ? Thanks

Hi All, Been working on this for a while and not really getting anywhere useful. Children and local admins can log on to a PC and use the Online Pictures and Translate functions fine. Staff can't. I've checked filtering and it's allowing the right URLs through and isn't denying any, but it just appears as though it can't get out on to the internet from within office - PowerPoint specifically. The only thing I can think of is GPOs but can't see anything in there that should affect it. If anyone has come across this before and has a quick answer it would be much appreciated! Thanks,

Got a bit of an odd one. I've got a series of mail enabled security groups that I created fairly recently. They're in-cloud groups created in the Exchange management console and populated in there. When you look at the group in Azure AD or in OWA, the membership of the group is correct. When you look at it in desktop Outlook, there are only two or three members shown in the group. If you send a mail to the group from Outlook, all of the members of the group get the mail so the problem is cosmetic but still annoying. At first I blamed it on an outdated offline address book cache, but even if you look at the "online" address book, the group membership still displays incorrectly. This is happening for multiple people, me included. Anyone seen this behaviour before? Cheers

Does anyone know of a script that will update Office2019 from a network share? I have looked at Office Update Utility (https://gal.vin/2019/06/16/automated-office-updates/) however office keeps telling me i'm not connected to the internet even after specifying the correct network location paths. The alternate way is to update PCs in turn by opening up Word > File > Account > Update Now whcih will update the install to the most current version on the network.

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has found a way to suppress this window during an MDT task sequence when installing Office 2019 Professional Plus? Thanks in anticipation eddyc

Can't seem to work this one out! I've downloaded the ODT (Office 2019 Deployment Tool 16.0.11617.33601) and used the online Office Customization Tool (https://config.office.com/officeSettings/) to create an XML for my install which I've downloaded. Followed the instructions here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-gb/DeployOffice/office2019/deploy I've run the command setup /download configuration.xml which has created the installation files in the relevant directory. For me this is V:\Office2019 When running this command to then install Office 2019 : setup /configure configuration.xml I get this error! I am connected to the Internet! I've tried some reboots but it does n't want to play ball. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hi all, While testing Office 2019, we have discovered there is an up arrow on the open/save as boxes within Word, Excel etc so it is letting users go up levels and access parts of the network. Has anyone come across this? If so, how did you deal with it? Thanks

Hi, I'm trying to print a page out with full colour block edge to edge without the colour cutting out on the edges. I have tried pretty much everything at this point and nothing seems to work. Does anyone have a solution to this or know what would cause it to do this? Many Thanks, Stam

So it's Edugeek vs Google... Someone downloaded a nice report cover template and then added it to the existing report template. Unfortunately it wasn't proofed before sending it out to be filled in. Reports are cover + 2 to 3 pages, so should fit on one double-sided A3 sheet and fold down to an A4 booklet. BUT the cover is Page 1, and then the actual report starts at... Page 1, so the printer wants to allow for the non-existent "back" of the cover. Anyone got any idea how to either renumber the docs in one fell swoop, or how to tell the printer to ignore the numbering?

So Microsoft have always recommended the 32BIT version be installed. I got this from the Office 365 message center this morning; I assume this is for people who download it via the O365 login, but thoughts? Stuart

Hi, I've upgraded a few machines to Office 2019 and I noticed it doesn't use WSUS to update. I've set the Group policy to enable updates and the other policies in the Office 2016 (Machine) section but just wondered how successful people have found this. I forced the update on my work PC to get the version number (16.0.10338.20019) so I have a reference in PDQ Inventory to see if any are updating. How quickly do they usually update, I've only set the GP today so am being a bit impatient.

I received an email recently stating that Office 2019 is now available to our organisation on our Volume Licensing programme. Wanting to try this out I logged in and downloaded the 2019 package. When installing from the ISO it gave me a few errors stating that IIS needed to be installed, I was confused but installed the role anyway on my PC and went through the install again. After installation I noticed that it has actually installed something called "Microsoft Office Online Server". After reading online this seems to be essentially a web based version of the office package... Is this correct? Is this what Office 2019 is now? Or am I doing something wrong here. We currently have Office 2016 pushed to all users at the moment, and I was under the impression that 2019 would potentially be the last physical version of office, but now I'm not too sure if I am just being stupid or if it is all web based now? Help and comments appreciated Thanks
