I reported this to MS on the 1st November, I was told that it was only effecting some education customers, I had to jump through a few hoops first with first line, changing browsers etc all the infuriating stuff 🤷♂️ Once it went to intune Team it took a few days to sort with the time difference, the case was open for 8 days. strange issue I’ve not seen before good job I have policy backups just encase, I wouldn’t like to re write them any time soon.

School burns while Fire evac prints - InVentry & Papercut
mrnoisy replied to EliteCommander's topic in Physical Security
Can’t you just use the inventry app to do your fire register, seems a bit daft waiting for a printout when there’s a fire [emoji848]- 23 replies

Office 365 onedrive, they can all work locally but we only support backing up to onedrive

Forgot to say we did away with a Mac mini running Mac server as well, the devices are just ad joined and work a hell of a lot better than Mac server / ad joined devices.

Not sure if it helps but I’ve managed Mac estates 200+ for a decade, when we replaced out creative arts & music suites with M1 iMacs last year we just intune enrolled and managed them from there, pretty much set and forget in our school, there are a couple of apps that we couldn’t deploy via intune but can always fall back on Mac Remote Desktop, it took longer to unbox and cable up the new devices than to get them setup. We are now in a 3 year lease so just rinse and repeat next time around. A lot of people use jamf etc but I don’t see the point when we can do what we need with the tools we have. It doesn’t work for everyone I know but that’s how we do it.

I’m doing my CBT this year and hopefully progressing to a full licence. Basically having a mid life crisis [emoji23] I used to ride many years ago, my good friend is building me an RG 125 Gamma ( you’ll probably be able to work out my age from that ) It’s all very exciting, if anyone wants to follow my progress I decided to join TikTok ( so I’m down with the kids) to document my journey. https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMLovNCsL/

I can see why this this is a problem in schools for us we took the decision to use the wireless mice and keyboards, we have an estate of 150 M1 iMacs, we have had a couple of the cables go missing, on the whole it’s worked very well, we left the keyboards wired in for the first term and as soon as the couple of cables went missing they were all taken out, the staff just go around and change the keyboards and mice weekly, with checks at the end of each lesson to ensure no one’s accidentally put one in their bag 🤣 So far so good.

Teams Desktop Shortcut Duplication when redirecting to OneDrive
mrnoisy replied to CrootUK's topic in Windows 10
We had this issue, ours are hybrid managed sccm / endpoint managed intune enrolled so we just set a policy to exclude sync the teams.lnk file. Does the job for us but appreciate you may not be setup the same. -
Hi we’ve been using it like this for about 3 years, we have it setup for single sign in via their 365 accounts, licensing allows use on personal devices, each account can login 2 devices, the user gets prompted to sign out a device they are not using if they have signed into multiple machines on prem, it asks them to sign out one of the 2 machines. It works really well for our creative arts students.

I’ve just sccm installed this today, had to do .net framework 3.5 as well, what a joke app it’s still using flash [emoji85]

Me too heeeeeeelp [emoji85]

We are using user licences 600. Single sign in via azure enterprise applications and office 365 credentials registers for the accounts. Users get prompted if they are signed into another machine ( or 2 if they’ve used both licences ) and are asked to sign a device out so it can be used. Works well our 4th year of Adobe cc user based licences in Mac / windows estate.

That’s how we have ours setup with 150 shared iMacs, works. Although our stas is flakey at best, so looking for alternatives. -
MS Teams Class - Class Materials Folder Deleted
mrnoisy replied to qwerty94's topic in Cloud Services
Our staff did this a while ago, before they knew what it was for [emoji49] You can add it back in from the add resource button in teams, seems a bit daft but you add resource select the sharepoint site and voila the class materials folder is there to add. -
Biggest we had in our old one was 1tb disks, can’t remember if they where sas or data as we had 3 enclosures. Still got it !
