    Have you checked that the server thinks it's on your domain? i.e. it doesn't think its on a public or private network and has changed its own firewall settings. Try resetting the network location service.

    Powerpoint uses Internet Explorer for web things so check IEs settings.

    nope, I think they can also use Bluetooth. I was going to look in that direction.

    Setup an archiving policy, they won't loose access to their emails from 5 years ago. I'm not sure where archive emails are stored though

    They seem to be part of the image, I did a vanilla install from the WDS server and the issue does not present. I'm making a new image now and will not touch the printing whilst making it. Yes every user (even local users) get the printers.     I did check the event log but didn't notice that that log @GaryPad was disabled!

    I'm pulling what left of my hair out on this one... I deployed a new imaged PC to my domain (for testing from WDS) and with a user that has no printer GPOs in a computer OU that has no printer GPOs, my client PC picks up one of my network printers! ok, so expecting no printers I in fact get a network printer added 6 times, the same printer. What is really strange is that if I delete all 6 in a few minutes they add them selves back?! Whilst I'm logged in, looking at installed printers. wtf? I've scoured all my GPOs for hidden scripts, deployed printers, loopback processing. The Group policy modelling shows no printers, or scripts. Can a phantom printer be brought across from the original image (after a sysprep?) Local event logs contain no strings for the print server or "printer" so I don't know how this is getting added. I've installed this image on other PCs and it hasn't occurred, but most PCs have this issue.

    this happens all the time (twice today), I'm afraid that I've caved in and put Adobe's PDF reader back on Windows 10 machines. I have NEVER gotten any modern app to work consistently with our sharp's printer drivers (when it requires a pin/user number). This I think is because it's hard to change the default behaviour that allows a pop-up to work. It'll work 100% with old style programs notepad and office. but the modern app is supposed to flag that user input is required but it rarely works and the print queue is held up waiting for a user number that isn't coming.

    Hi, now that staff (inc me) can use the swgfl proxy rules to allow youtube for staff it works great...mostly. YouTube videos on youtube work fine but any website that has a youtube video embedded, fails. Also powerpoint embedded youtube fails, this is on 3 different browsers as well. anyone else have this issue? I just get the "an error has occurred"

    Does anyone KNOW that they have a wi-fi adapter that supports Wi-FI Direct? (for PC, usb would be good so I can use an extension cable) Do they have to be connected to the same wifi or can it offer an ad-hoc type connection? cheers

    I have a PC setup in the hall, a standard wired PC running Windows 10 Education. I've seen that Windows 10 can do Miracast hosting (I think this is the protocol it uses). What hardware would I need to allow the PC to accept "Project to this PC" a specific spec wifi card? I thought it'd be nice if guests could project to the PC instead of running cables. or even use a phone? anyone have this working?

    ok, this is simply amazing, I figured it out and maybe stumbled on a scenario that no one ever though of. Ok, so the computer policy has 2 mistakes 1 compounding the other. mistake 1 a computer system/policy setting set as replace (instead of merge) then single user policy is also set. mistake 2 the GPO has only the computer settings enabled. Now the computer will never process any user policies and will not error. Without mistake 2, I'd have one policy setting in the GPM leading me to this issue and the replace mistake. I'm annoyed that the GPM didn't show this outcome. This problem has bugged me for weeks (I know this post is only a day old but, this issue follows my troubles with a surface tablet posted a while ago) anyhow I hope some poor sucker on the internet finds this post one day:)

    I figured this out, a COMPUTER GPO stops user processing entirely and stealthily but I'm unsure how? I zipped the gpo I hope people will take a look, I don't know how to make it more friendly. Disable Internet Browsers and Store.zip

    This happened once before and I wrote it off but this is the second time..... OK, I have re-imaged a laptop using my standard 1809 win10edu deploy. This machine refuses to run user group policies. I can't figure this out. The laptop just does not see them, they're not denied it's like they don't exist whilst using this laptop. I've run a Group policy Model on a test pupil and the laptop and the results show correctly but the actual group policy results show NO applied user Group policies, one shows as denied the local policy (as expected) but the windows 8.1 version should also show as denied by WMI filter but does not. I use standard security on the GPOs "authenticated users" and my laptop does show up as an authenticated user. (thanks to the new way user GPOs are picked up by the computer account) I don't know how to troubleshoot this as there are no errors! it like user GPOs don't exist for this laptop..

    I have a need to modify the photoshop x4 server image (the msi deployable) I'm using netcopy.exe from the original DVD and following the instructions but the netcopy software tells me that the key is invalid! I checked multiple times it is correct. The orange sticker on the case and check the existing deployable (which show the key)…. I'm stumped, I just says invalid key? what now?!?!?!

    I've never understood why many small GPOs would take any longer than a single large GPO. A large GPO has more chance of issues with increased complexity and would make troubleshooting more difficult.

    if you're hosting the PAC file using DNS to WPAD via iis then I'd assume ANY device should pick this up without configuration. (I'll assume chrome books do not and thus your query?)

    You can also set ntp on the VMware Host, then have the VMs sync from the host.

    does "net time" still work on the workstation? I still don't think it should be disabled but mine is on manual.

    I have movieplus x5 and you can unlock it via a reg key. edit: This was for the x264 features thinking on it. The software ran fine otherwise.

    The MFL department has a budget for video hardware. I wanted some dedicated devices that say had a 40" portrait screen, a camera n mic, and simple or dedicated software for video calls. Does anyone know of something like that?
