Hi there, We are running a fleet of MBA's on 10.9.4 connected to Active Directory and mounting DFS Shares from a Windows 2012 R2 server. We use ControlPlane to, based on a network context, run a script to mount the network drives (will include the script below). The issue is that when the Macs sleep or the screen is shut, after they are awakened, the drives are remounting and creating a few extra duplicates, eventually flooding the desktop throughout the day. We assumed it was the script so we edited it as seen below, but the issue is persisting.. We have only seen this happen since the use of DFS shares was introduced instead of normal Windows shares. We have not verified this, but the issue does not seem to happen on Yosemite (NOT VERIFIED). Any ideas? Thanks guys and gals. Hey, I've been looking everywhere to find some software that will allow my computer (which is hooked up to a monitor via HDMI to be able to be on the duplicate mode and have the second screen frozen (Like it just not moving kind of thing) I found one but it made it so I could only use the extend desktop mode. I would prefer to use the duplicate as I don't have to drag things around to the classroom monitor. Thanks to any body that will help!

Hi all, Further to my recent post about my battles with duplicate files, does anyone know of a piece of software which allows you to choose a location for a group of duplicates and then it deletes all the duplicates and replaces then with shortcuts to the location you specified? The reason I ask is that doing it manually is fine for the few larger suspects, but as there are currently 236,000 files deemed duplicates, it may take a few thousand years for me to do it by hand... Cheers Tony

Hi All, I have a very odd issue with a PC we're trying to use for our school hall. The PC display is a 1920x1080 display, the projector is a 1920x1200 display but copes with 1080 fine. The PC display is a touch screen and it works fine if the projector isn't connected or the PC is in extended mode. However as soon as you duplicate the display at 1920x1080 the touch calibration is out. The touch is bellow your finger at the bottom, and above your finger at the top if I remember right, the middle is about right. This suggests it thinks the display is 1920x1200 but its set to 1080 when I look in display settings. I've tried calibrating the touch using the built in Windows Touch PC tools but when calibrating it doesn't register your touch as it thinks its outside the 'working' area. IE you click in the top left but it thinks you clicking above the display, hence its not registered. I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to do, I've tried changing resolutions and swapping the display cables around (Switching which is display 1) but nothing seems to solve it. Any advice? Thanks, Rob

Hi, We have duplicated a new student in Bromcom in error. Is there a way to combine his two records, or does this have to be done manually? Many thanks in anticipation of your help.

I'm pulling what left of my hair out on this one... I deployed a new imaged PC to my domain (for testing from WDS) and with a user that has no printer GPOs in a computer OU that has no printer GPOs, my client PC picks up one of my network printers! ok, so expecting no printers I in fact get a network printer added 6 times, the same printer. What is really strange is that if I delete all 6 in a few minutes they add them selves back?! Whilst I'm logged in, looking at installed printers. wtf? I've scoured all my GPOs for hidden scripts, deployed printers, loopback processing. The Group policy modelling shows no printers, or scripts. Can a phantom printer be brought across from the original image (after a sysprep?) Local event logs contain no strings for the print server or "printer" so I don't know how this is getting added. I've installed this image on other PCs and it hasn't occurred, but most PCs have this issue.

I've logged this with the Service desk. I know that there aren't many folk here use the Profiles module, but I thought I'd throw this one out while waiting for the service desk to get back to me. We are having an issue with staff inputting comments within the Profiles module. It appears that if they use Grid Entry to input all the comments for a student, then click next, before clicking Save, once they click Save on the "Do you wish to save your changes" dialog, the comment codes are stripped out of the boxes that they have been input into (except for the final set) - the comments remain in the free text box. In itself, this is not a problem, but the comments are also copying themselves from the first free text box into the botom free text box, so the comments are appearing twice as follows: Introduction TEXT A Commitment TEXT B Achievements TEXT C Improvement Strategies Introduction TEXT A Commitment TEXT B Achievements TEXT C TEXT D Frankly, it's awfully time consuming fixing this. It only seems to affect our ICT faculty - I don't know if they're the only ones who are clicking next before saving - in a school the size of ours I find that difficult to believe. Have you ever seen this sort of thing before?

Following upgrade to Win 10 across college, we are having an intermittent issue with the monitor not duplicating to the Promethean projector, it is often reverting to 'Show only on 1'. All of our tutor stations have permanently installed PCs, so it is not an issue with connecting and disconnecting a laptop. Short of 'trying' to instruct staff to use the WIN + P function to correct the display, is anyone aware of a way to force screen duplication as a fixed setting? Under Win 7 this option was always stable, being a 'set and forget' setting, but it is now starting to drive both us and teaching staff to distraction!!

OK, I have a problem that has stumped my colleagues and I, we have around 30 PC that are attached to touchscreens (smart 6065/CTouchs) and a monitor, these are set to duplicate. The problem is that randomly during the day they will change to "show only on display 2" sometimes its at first turn on other times during lessons some times not at all, its completely at random so replicating it is next to impossible. only effects PC that are duplicated, extended mode has not caused any issues (the powers at be have ruled that extended mode is not acceptable fix) there are 5 different models of PCs, 7 different models of CTouch and 1 6065 so there no correlation between hardware What we done so far since September 2015 Re-image machines Deleted profiles Change the cables revert back Windows updates (and disabled them) Updated the on-board graphics card driver Added graphics cards c-touch themselves came to see if there is anything wrong with the screen. Update the bios to the latest release(this update shows multiple displays feature on the bios) Enable multiple displays on the bios. Download driver for the monitor (digital driver) current band add is running a script that clones the displays at start up if anyone has any ideas please let me know
