Hi Everyone, I have a verystrange and annoying issue. Pupil home folder is fine, all present and correct. When the pupils logs in, it disappears... From the server! I restore the folder, check ACLs and it reappears (usually without them having to logoff. I'm not sure if this is just a one time thing, as it seems to be only happening once per user, but we have over 1200 pupil accounts. I have recently descovered that our setup of DFS-R sat in a 2012R2 VM stored on a CSV could be an issue, but i removed the DFSR last week. Any help would be great.

Hi all, We have an issue with Capita SIMS. Basically when we open SIMS there is a button in the top right corner named 'Documentation'. When we click it, an error appears in the bottom corner telling us that the Index file is missing. Has anyone seen this before? If so any advice would be very helpful. Thanks, Rob

One of my users (in fact the headmistress) told me today that all of her documents have disappeared from her ‘My Documents’ folder. Sure enough, they are not there on her machine, or on the server. Each user (on an XP machine) has their own ‘H:’ drive, which maps to their private area on the server (Windows 2003). By opening up the ‘My Documents’ folder, the private H: drive files can also be found. Is there any way that these files could have been misplaced somewhere else through some mappings or something? We have been having major issues with our backups recently so I have a bad feeling that I will not be able to restore all her files through a backup if it comes to that. Thanks for any advice.

Hi, really hoping someone can help! Using Edval as TT software and have synced and applied timetable. Y7 to 11 are all showing on the 'My Timeline' home page area view for teachers, but Y12 and Y13 classes not showing When I click into 'My Groups', you can see the teacher is a 'class teacher' for the Y12 and Y13 classes so they are in SIMs and also on the Staff timetable but not on the 'My Timeline' on the home page so it's trickier for teachers to easily do registers and see their week overview. They are showing everywhere else (curriculum assignment, timetables etc). Anyone know why this would be? How can I get the Y12 and Y13 classes to show on My Timeline? Thank you very much! From a very new data manager

I am creating a site using the Joomla 1.5 template. I have a drop down menu listing all the subjects (Art, English etc...) if I click on a subject, it goes to the page for that subject which also has a Menu on the left-hand side (curriculum menu), so you can access any other subject as well. It all works fine except for one subjet (Drama) which, when clicked, takes you to the Drama page, but there is no curriculum menu - why is this menu missing on just one subject? - any help greatfully appreciated.....

Hi all, I’m gathering peoples thoughts on the use of papercut, on one specific issue I have found recently. We are a school and have setup all departments with an 'account'. Users are either assigned to one shared 'account' or are allowed to choose from a list of accounts they are allowed to apply charges to. all print and copy jobs are charged to the relevant account enabling a scheduled report to run, emailing itself to our finance team with the relevant cost charges for each of our Departments (accounts). Additionally, webcashier is used to log special purchases such as reams of paper, laminating, binding, card etc. This has worked great until recently we have found an issue and papercut do not have a feature for this. Our reprographics lady accidently charged 100 reams of A3 coloured paper at a cost of £850 to a department instead of 100 single sheets of A3 coloured paper which would should have cost £1.70! We are all human and make mistakes. I happily went to assist and show here how to use the 'refund' option in webcashier > transaction history, to find there is no option. This is an option in the main papercut print / copy software yet not in the webcashier side of the program. I then went to webcashier > deposits and realised I can 'deposit' back to a user which shows in the logs but not to an 'account'. Whilst I have a work around, I feel it’s short sighted of papercut to not include this feature. I have been in contact with them and they say it’s not got enough requests to make the addition. They have said if i can provide evidence of others having the same issue or others are willing to contact papercut and raise the same feature request, then it will accelerate the option being developed, instead of being shelved. What are your thoughts? Have you had the same issue?

Students click "turned in" and nothing appears in their area, but they manage to then avoid having their work show up as "missing". How can I stop this? Also, I cannot change my settings to British English, so it says, "turned in" instead of "handed in" and I get "grading" instead of "marking". There seems to be a different set of Google classroom features that other people have, as our online trainer shared his screen and he had different terms and an ability to return work as "missing" if there was nothing there. Any advice gratefully received.

I've logged this with the Service desk. I know that there aren't many folk here use the Profiles module, but I thought I'd throw this one out while waiting for the service desk to get back to me. We are having an issue with staff inputting comments within the Profiles module. It appears that if they use Grid Entry to input all the comments for a student, then click next, before clicking Save, once they click Save on the "Do you wish to save your changes" dialog, the comment codes are stripped out of the boxes that they have been input into (except for the final set) - the comments remain in the free text box. In itself, this is not a problem, but the comments are also copying themselves from the first free text box into the botom free text box, so the comments are appearing twice as follows: Introduction TEXT A Commitment TEXT B Achievements TEXT C Improvement Strategies Introduction TEXT A Commitment TEXT B Achievements TEXT C TEXT D Frankly, it's awfully time consuming fixing this. It only seems to affect our ICT faculty - I don't know if they're the only ones who are clicking next before saving - in a school the size of ours I find that difficult to believe. Have you ever seen this sort of thing before?

Hi I am trying to create a shared folder that can be accessed from the domain but at the moment it doesn't seem to be working. If I create a shared file and add a word document to it I can see the word document fine in the C:\ Drive. If I access the shared folder by using \\SERVERNAME\MYSHAREDFOLDER it works fine as well. But im trying to access my shared folder from \\MYDOMAIN\MYSHAREDFOLDER the folder opens fine but then the files or word document inside it does not seem to show up. If I try adding another file to it a message is shown saying "Could not find this item. This is no longer located in \\MYDOMAIN. Verify the item's location and try again. Please Help! Thanks in advance

Since moving to Windows 7 RTM, we've noticed an issue with shortcuts created on the desktop. Most of our staff run a redirected desktop, and this works fine. However, the handful of staff who don't have a redirected desktop have started to notice that shortcuts they create on their desktops seem to randomly disappear. For instance, I have shortcuts to monitoring spreadsheets stored in my home drive on mine - and I noticed this morning that all of them had disappeared. In the past I've seen that a shortcut I created to Administration Tools in control panel had "wandered off" all on its own and I just assumed I had accidentally deleted it without thinking but with my spreadsheet shortcuts disappearing this morning, I'm thinking again - especially as it has been mentioned by another member of staff too. Is anyone else seeing this? It's fairly random and sporadic at the moment but regular enough to be noticed (if that makes sense!). Log on and log off seems to proceed normally. We are all Windows 7 RTM clients, with a mixed Server 2008 / 2008 R2 domain. The server storing the profiles is a 2008 R2 box. Thanks in advance! Jim
