    I don't get these errors as I have Firewall alerts hidden from the end user. I don't foresee a need to update sims remotely or need the client to check in.

    I have this running now, I upgraded my windows from 1803 to 1903 and installed the RATS stuff from the software on demand instead.

    Thanks for that but the issue is stranger than that, all the computer GPO settings are applying just fine. (I even have a computer GPO ((assigned to the PC)) that has a user setting within it, that was denied (expected). But any GPO associated with the user was not applied or denied just missing.

    To save time I've run the Group policy Modeling for my user and the PC in question (a surface pro, upgraded to education from pro) The model says that the user settings should be applied. I do also have windows 10 wmi filtering on but the Group policy results, it doesn't say that the users settings were denied. it doesn't show in the results at all, it's like the PC is ignoring all user based gpo settings. I can find no mention of my missing user GPO or any error that would point to why. This means that any user who uses this tablet get no mapped drives etc. I'm at a loss as to how to resolve this issue.. For a sanity check I tried the user on another PC and everything works fine.. The only unknown is that I upgraded the pre-installed OS instead of installing a fresh one.

    I was thinking of loosing the exchange 2013 server we have that is only used for hybrid with o365. I haven't even used it in weeks. I was looking into going full cloud but I've been reading that this may not be supported whilst using the azure ad connect tool. I was really looking to dump a not used VM and not buying it a new MX cert next year. The only thing I can think I'd loose is the GAL.

    some kind of hardware fault, I'd swap and re-seat the memory modules.

    For testing I always like to disable all the hardware accelerated features usually labelled offload. This has helped with a range of strange errors over the years. Also force the link speed...because.

    Yeap, I had the first 3 checked, my current issue is with applocker, under no login on any PC can I get the AppLocker to open as the MMC crashes, when I tell it to list installed packaged app as reference it crashes. tried 2 servers and 2 accounts?

    I'm running Win10 Education (the enterprise version) I have a set of laptops I wan't the store and its apps disabled on. I've set the "Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Store" disable the store and apps unfortunately the store is disabled but the apps still work. are these appx programs not considered store apps? (I've tried app locker but it keeps crashing when I use it) I want to disable the windows remote desktop (NOT mstsc, but the appx version with the same name) and windows mail specifically.

    Yes, I have a (windows 10 education) 1809 rollout image with everything acceptable. I'd noticed a few odd desktops in the last few days and have discovered PCs running 1903. What?

    Had a desktop here with a 4 beep error and no post. I assumed bad PSU and swapped it but no luck.... Bad motherboard is the assumption but I had time and was not convinced. I saw a post mention that 4 beeps was actually an over current warning so I began removing things and POST! it was the accessories supply connector. In some HPs the power connectors for HDD, ODD come via the motherboard not the PSU direct. The ODD connector had been modified (from factory) that left one of the sata power connector with exposed ends, these must have shorted on the case after we'd removed the ODD power connectors. Anyhow, if you get the 4 beeps error unplug this from the mainboard and see if it recovers. I was lucky in a way swapping the PSU could have nudged this connector and cleared the fault leading to the wrong conclusion.

    as @Techie-v2 says, you'll have to inject the new network driver. (a pain) Oh, if you're lucky you maybe able to just get a more up to date winPE image from a newer version of windows and it has the drivers in it (the lazy way)

    ok, so after installing ancient prerequisites like .net 2.0 and visual c++ 2010 on all 3 of my domain controllers. I was required to disable UAC.. So far, so bad. I then had installed the password sync tool on all 3 domain controllers. Then the kicker, ALL USERS must reset their passwords for it to work.... This tells me that rather than querying the AD database its stealing passwords as they sync between the DCs! This horrible fudge tells me that if they couldn't be bothered to get ad integration right what are the chances that they skimped anywhere else. Are they salting and hashing credentials etc... I love the note that passwords can't have the "£" symbol in them, so they are no sanitising correctly either. if this is the level of effort they put into the software, I want it out. Which is what I'm doing now. if anyone whos used the M$ sync tool for O365 which can run on any normal domain member, this is the stark contrast.

    sticky foam pads, the luxury! I put them in loose or find a single hole (usually a grill) and screw 1 in.

    if the laptop boots, hold down shift when you press reboot to bring up the recovery options and do a factory reset.

    Hey I use edge! Check the credential manager and make sure nothing odd is in there for YouTube.

    we had some Epson projectors that did not have that freeze function on the remote, I found out from tech support that they sold a compatible remote that had the freeze on it. What I'm saying is email the makers of the touch screen and ask them.

    You may want to look into putting up a vapour barrier as the walls are bare right now. This'll stop your moist person hot air, condensing on the cold outer walls you can't see this is usually a basement fix though. I'd also make sure that your double glazing has the correct and working trickle vents too allow that air to pass. Some people block these or never open them causing wet and mould issues. Mine don't have them so I have to leave my windows open a crack all the time or the cupboard in my bedroom gets wet! There is a type of ventilation designed to combat black mould, called positive pressure ventilation. Basically pushes air into your house (usually from and attic) and forces the air out through gaps in the house. I'm not sure what the flat version would be.

    I've been doing what @mavhc does as well, I set the speakers at about 70% volume and let the projector remote change it up and down. I hide the speakers volume in the trunking. Reduces cabling and sounds cleaner. It does however mean that the projector has to be on for sound & the screen in extend or clone.
