Application To Automatically Reopen Another Application When It Is Closed
chazzy2501 replied to FN-GM's topic in Windows 10
Windows Pro has a KIOSK mode, just use that.... is this now called single app mode? -
Rather than the automatic drivers installed by Microsoft use the Intel GRAPHICS driver from Intel. (you may have done this, with you updated drivers) For belt and braces uninstall the old intel audio first (and delete driver) ALSO use the "show hidden devices" in device manager and remove any disconnected versions.

Direct Access - Expired https-ip certs
chazzy2501 replied to Theldron's topic in Enterprise Software
ok you need to select a new cert in step 2 of the config, but it seems that every solution on the entire internet assumes that I know how to create a new self cert for the job?!? The cert in there was magically created for me! I haven't a sausage how to make a new one or what requirements it has?! murmurs are that a second cert should already be in place a few weeks before expiration deployed then switched over... assuming you have a PKI or know how to do that stuff. -
Direct Access - Expired https-ip certs
chazzy2501 replied to Theldron's topic in Enterprise Software
eeps, hope this doesn't happen to me... maybe go through the wizard on the direct access server again, change nothing and it'll deploy (via GPO) up to date certs? -
New ActivPanel Nickel + Windows = ARGH!
chazzy2501 replied to Alex0x7F's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
check the active signal resolution is actually 1080p NOT the desktop resolution. (advanced display settings) I had to buy an edid emulator to trick my newline displays to showing only 1080p. also if that panel has usbc try a usbc to usbc connection..- 2 replies

I put back the dumb bulbs and sockets. (I still had most of them)

I stripped out all my Zigbee stuff. It became more restrictive in the end (its more work to say "turn on x light" than reaching for a switch). Plus I don't like the idea of 40+ cheapo mini power supplies running all the time creating electrical noise. (every device is always on, just not illuminated or active)

errr, any windows 10 above version 1802 should have that version of .net?

our school made over a megawatt of solar energy this month and we'll only pay the difference, so not a lot. https://monitoringpublic.solaredge.com/solaredge-web/p/kiosk?guid=08b64b50-4fac-46cf-bd04-4db23825b1cf

I leave my home amplifier on all the time and it takes 40 watts, that is £98 a year!
-
@mavhc you've mistaken watt hours with kilowatt hours... that should be £4/year I made it 8760 watt hours a year so in kwh 8.76 x £0.28 (28p a kwh) so £2.45 a year.

The clients (laptop) graphics driver and wifi drivers need to be looked at or reinstalled. Also Ryzen based (Vega) devices are really poor at Miracast.

£400 for the now 128gb base model in August. Still the best value VR headset around but you have 3 days to get a cheaper one for only £299.. I have one it's very good, you can use wifi to connect to your desktop for PCVR (which is how I played HL Alyx) if you were on the fence maybe time to go for it! p.s. I just bought a old but complete 64gb model for £160 on ebay! (works great) I can't wait to see what happens to ebay prices, it'll be telling.

[free] Multiple Monitor types due to upgrades
chazzy2501 replied to DrBeaker's topic in Classified Adverts
P2010Ht I've got 16 in recycling with another 10 to follow, I don't think they're worth anything to anyone but if there is any interest I'll look to getting them cleared for pickup. EDIT: pickup Dorset -
I've just started to use a VPN for my home use, I have a hybrid VPN on the router and all my clients go through that. (ultimately trusting the VPN rather than my ISP)

They have board issues most likely, power delivery or a thermal monitoring issue. (not just cpu but VRMs etc.) I've seen this with other laptops, no error thrown up just really poor performance. Check the batteries are good and that they have the correct power supply. (working PSU doesn't mean good or suitable PSU) ... I use a watt meter to check PSUs.

So we have to deploy a registry value, no ADMX yet or ever? -

Yes, disable smartscreen fixes the issue! now, why no whitelist?! All or nothing... -
These docks are always out of stock on the HP website, they used to cost only £150 now with shortages they're going for double. These are the perfect docks imho. The captive powercord and semi permanent cable means tampering (by well meaning staff) is less of an issue.

The projector has an HDBase-t socket on the back but a £1500 matrix device seems a little pricey..
