    Below is babble, I want to block all traffic in my RM filter list (I've done *.*) but I'd like to allow the text to speech or "Read Aloud" to work. Anyone know what url's I should allow for this? I've just gotten edge to obey the proxy settings (as the old commands are deprecated and the new way is syntax perfection or nothing... so I used regedit) I've gotten to the point where I have the edge browser going through a new proxy, that I have a filter list of everything blocked. (as I can't seem to set "no proxy" or proxy yourself in edge) urgh... My existing exam account just prevented edge from loading as I could never get the proxy info to stick.. or if it did google would still search, even if the links failed. (still too powerful in an exam)

    Just want to point out that if this didn't exist, I'd have to purchase the 48 port model for a few hundo more! or bought an additional 8 port switch Let me hope that no one wants another device over there!

    Loot, some SFP to gigabit RJ45 over ten years old but still useful. I grabbed a fist full of these once and twice they have bailed me out phew!

    This is why AirPlay is a head scratcher, devices have to be on the same network (so guest access is all but a no), Bluetooth has to be enabled, the AP must support multicast (and disable client isolation)and of course you need bonjour. That's a lot of prerequisites. Miracast is a peer to peer connection and is also an unreliable beast but has less prerequisites. Wireless video sucks..

    I ordered an ipad but got a book by david jason and 2 chocolate bars. I expect these items weighed the same. Mine was a pickup from Waitrose. The box was fine, so the theft happened at the Amazon warehouse. Chargeback using the chargeback form on natwest site (natwest cc) They gave me a conditional refund the next day! I then had to prove that, I'd returned the (wrong) item (and that I'd tried to get Amazon to do something about it). EDIT: Amazon did dispute the chargeback but I showed that they'd collected the "wrong item", then it went into limbo! (I waited 30 days for Amazon to sort it, Amazon said I had to wait a further 2 and a half months) Lucky I could find the return delivery graphic (for chocolates and book), through Amazons own robot helper (as it didn't appear in orders)... The order is still pending refund on Amazons site 4 months now..

    So the Java 8 I have on a server (for Unifi) says that on Java.com version 8 is the latest version?!? Ubiquity is telling me to use version 11 of Java (and not 12) the Oracle website has version 11..... What don't I know about Java?!??!

    Well, for a while I've felt the upload speed was not what it should be and I've been pinging my sales rep on and off for a while at RM. Today he got back to me to tell me their wholesaler doesn't offer the 1000/220 service I paid for anymore and put me on a lower tier 1000/115, & according to their T&Cs they can do this. I'm a little miffed...

    I have a DS218+ left over from a project.. I was amazed to see an entire O365 backup software suite and easy instructions (including letters for teams access) right there. Local device, costs very little and can automate backups on a schedule and restore items back to the source with a few clicks. (also you can browse the files and download them if you want) This also has a Gsuite tool which I'm sure is just as good. The device was, I think £400 at the time but as it's original project had finished, mine was effectively free. (was a time machine backup for an old mac suite) I may get bigger drives (2x2tb in a mirror) But I get email reports every week from the DS218+ and I'm really chuffed as online backups are stupid money.

    I have staff moving their shared folders to their departmental team groups. How do users verify everything made it? I can't just find the file count?! puckered bum frustration... ..

    My cottage is Energy rated G (although expired) and as it's awkward to reach with no parking. So I don't qualify for grants (gas or air source) and no parking so builders shy away!

    back in the day, I had a edge 48port 3com switch that had its ARP table fill and stopped DHCP... which even then was the silliest thing I'd ever seen.

    The switches are getting less features and cost more. but have a stupid touch screen now... not a happy camper here. I stated here treat them like they have no support and no warranty. Keep a few spares. The POE switches recently have become less powerful and they've quietly downgraded some models to half and half's.

    Inventor was a bit of a pain with the licencing and the server but it (used) to have good support. Fusion is hostile to its users and really hates administrators, technical support is a PDF produced 3 years ago. We're using Tinker cad but its hamstringed so you find limitations fast. I'd move to onshape but the education version also doesn't support federated logins and F1 is schools WANTS fusion.

    could be shorting out the sata connectors and preventing any sata device from working.

    I've never used MDT, I only use WDS.. So this was my worry. BUT if I can capture a Windows11 image using the win10 boot.wim to deploy it....fine.

    So Could I use keep using the windows 10 boot.wim to install windows 11?

    So I learned that I can't use WDS to deploy Windows 11... That's a pain as it does everything I need it too and (more importantly) I know how to use it. I was under the mistaken impression that the MDT ran on top of WDS... But I guess not.. anyone got a nice guide on MDT the microsoft one make my head scratch.

    this happened to us but unifi has a record of the mac address, so I could see previous names.. of the hotspot one being the pupils first name.
