  1. I rarely post on job adverts, but I have to say that the salary for this post is rather disgusting. Shame on the institution for thinking they can pull this off. Rant over
  2. I can't comment on NewLine kit, but I went down the Viewsonic route and I can't recommend them highly enough. I bought around 80+ Viewsonics of varying sizes over the past 9 months, - a few 65" in our smaller 6th form rooms, 75" in all of our senior school classrooms and a 98" for presentations. We had one dead out of the box but that was dealt with almost immediately. Apart from that all have been well received by staff. The built in ViewBoard software is decent, but we've directed staff down the MS Whiteboard route so we disable most of the built in apps / software. The screens are robust - no physical issues so far - and the screen quality and accuracy of the touch is excellent. Our models didn't come with wifi modules, so that may be an added expense if you want to network them for centralised management or use them as emergency notifications etc.
  3. Action1 for us. Free for 100 endpoints, decent edu discount available. Support is top notch We use it in conjunction with Intune to manage all our cloud endpoints. It just works
  4. An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the expanding IT Team at Stockport Grammar School. We're recruiting for a Network Manager to join us shaping the IT provision at SGS at a time of significant investment and ongoing whole school IT projects. Feel free to message me with any questions and I'll assist all I can! https://stockportgrammar.livevacancies.co.uk/#/job/details/65?target=frame

      • Thanks
  5. Been using Stonebooks here for many, many years. Never had any faults / hardware failures / warranty calls with them. Can't fault their build quality. They just work
  6. Recently moved from Xibo to Trilby TV. Couldn't ask for anything more from Trilby. Super quick to setup and 'just works'
  7. Bit of a trivial question... but can anyone point me in the direction of a supplier of Viewsonic panel spares - pens / erasers / remotes? Had a quick Google and only really come up with Viewsonic themselves. Any reseller / suppliers contacts would be appreciated. Thanks
  8. Do your staff use Presenter View when running the presentation? Try switching presenter view off, then running the presentation....
  9. Finally....!!! Our DT dept insist on students using it for their portfolio work.
  10. Intune - we manage all our Android phones via Intune and will be moving our iPads from Meraki to Intune over the Summer break
  11. I've been looking at RMM for a short period now... not wanting to get deluged with sales phone calls, I've not taken the plunge and touched base with any of the RMM companies recommend to me (Datto / N-Able mainly) What sort of pricing model do they tend to employ? Endpoint / per admin? Without asking for business ops information but what sort of figure is a ballpark figure for a secondary? (probably asking how long a piece of string is....)
  12. On the infrequent times that all the IT staff are out of the office / away from the helpdesk, how do you attempt to stay contactable? Do you have call redirect to staff (or even personal) mobiles? Do you have radio / walkie talkie comms Just curious as a good way to remain contactable when out and about.
  13. We got our Cambium kit via Stone, I think.
  14. Looking into the Viewsonic screen / hub.... do you know if it's possible to connect a touch screen via the USB? Any issues / gotchas? These would be rather handy if they could! We currently have a few rooms kitted out with Dell USB C hubs for staff with Surface Pros, but if I could find a stable solution that incorporated the hub and desktop screen in a single device, that would be a game changer for me!
  15. I'm currently looking into a bit of a puzzler... We have a few PCs that, after having Win11 deployed suffer from high disk utilisation, when I say high I mean 100%. The process causing causing the high disk writes is LSAS. After running procmon, LSAS is writing to C:\Windows\System32\Microsoft\Protect\S-1-5-18\User\Diagnostic.log continually. On some PCs the high disk util subsides after 10 mins, others it literally makes the PC unusable. We've done the usual checks for malware / nasties, disabled pretty much every service feasible, removed pretty much every bit of software we think may cause the issue. Removed pretty much all GPOs. Disabled Core Isolation, thinking it may be a TPM related issue - no joy. Reset profiles / appdata - no joy. Doesn't happen with Win10, only Win11 - a clean iso deployment via mdt. The high disk util happens on different makes/models of PC & hardware - HP Prodesks, Stone Desktops, HP Laptops, so it's not a driver issue. Clutching at straws, I remapped my home directory / profile etc to a temp share I created on a different server, not our usual staff/pupil file servers. The problem suddenly went away. Set the paths back to the original file servers, the problem re-appeared. This would lead you to think that it must be related to staff file server(s)... but it doesn't affect every user or pc. Any ideas where I should / could look at next? As any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks
