Have you added an updated kms client key? Can’t remember if this was what we initially experienced when we hadn’t updated it during one of our deployments?!

DDOS Protection / Mitigation Software
gaz350b replied to edie209's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
For our 100mb a few years ago they were quoting us £15k for ddos mitigation no idea if they made it cheaper since -
My guess is a driver issue probably something to do with intel graphics and a program failing to launch and hits a 10 minute timeout. I’ve seen this on 1709. Might have been 1703 not sure.... As for the 1st time after a reimage I’m going to say it’s probably creating the default profile.

Hi all we’re looking to replace our aging Cisco firewall, anyone got any recommendations?
-
You might need to add a restart step before installing the applications.

Can’t test it but can you put an item with negative cost and then issue that in the webcashier.

If your not going to replace the pc yet and go the upgrade option....... invest in some nice monitors. We have dell 23inch screens on all our pcs as standard and this has made a big difference. Plenty of room for dual applications on screen at once. I did this as part of our last refresh cycle with the plans of not needing to replace them next time!

My wife is a spoons pub manager and I know from her experience that they focus on complaints made via trip advisor and communications made direct to head office. Each complaint they do act on! At least in both pubs she’s been on the management team have followed this as a rule. Never have I heard her having to reply to Facebook/Twitter complaints. -
We block all access to the windows update servers except our update servers at the firewall. If we need to go out to them we can add client ip addresses to the firewall on a case by case basis. We do this because GPO’s take time to apply and when we were imaging on mass in the early days we found our connection was getting hammered.

Try just running gpupate from the start menu no need to open cmd etc. You will probably find it will add the printers just fine. It’s somethting to do with the login process.

Try the osd option above and not sure if win 7 is supported on the latest ADK I think support was pulled in the 160* series. Doesn’t mean it won’t work though. When you are up to date there are some nice premade Task sequences and health collections at https://github.com/winadminsdotorg/SystemCenterConfigMgr

Hi Nathan, 1st of all what version are you running? The fact you say 2012 sounds like your config manager (sccm) is running an old version. You really should be running at sccm at the same version levels as the os you are deploying. For example 1709 you should be using config manager 1706 but 1710 is recommended. You will also need to ensure you are running the correct version of the ADK that is supported for he os. Of course as you might need to upgrade your sccm you will also need to upgrade SQL along the way to ensure it’s running the min support versions.

Most of our services have someone who is responsible for maintaining that service (Panning changes, ensuring documentation is up to date etc) then another person in the team will have that role as a sub responsibility reporting to that person. This obviously all depends on your team size and skill set and changes over time.

They’re wont look at it. I assume you have each department charges going to a specfic account? If that’s the case just send them a pdf report automatically each week filtered for each printing budget. Takes a little time to do but they will actually read it. -
I've seen this usually when printing PDF's from EDGE

Same Kyocera here. We actauallu have someone who ensure they are all filled up each day and he also restarts them to reduce the chances of his happening.

Anti-Virus / Anti-Malware - What do you use?
gaz350b replied to Nausing's topic in Enterprise Software
Sccm with defender + credential guard + whitelisting applications. In the new year we’re looking at defender ATP licensing too. Apparently you can also turn on/configure ATP with defender/sccm but you don’t get access to the reporting without the license. -
Anything that isn’t Ltsb then

Phasing out 1607 (30 to go) currently on 1703 550+ devices and currently piloting 1709 although we’ll probably skip 1709 as our main deployed image and use the next build. Not a perfect answer but you could say we are current branch as much as possible but it depends on stability and features we require.

Send to Mail Recipient broken on Latest ver. of Win 10?
gaz350b replied to asm's topic in Windows 10
Are you doing 1709 as an upgrade? I’ve seen it durig upgrades but my b+c image seems fine. Easiest fix run a repair on office 2016. -
A FYI ..... Looks like 1709 upgrades are breaking sendtoemail across the OS. Repairing office seems to fix the issue. My build and capture image is fine. Removing and adding app associations doesn't seem to fix it either.

The tpm flaw only effects chips from 1 tpm chip supplier and as far as I am aware dell don’t use the tpm chip affected? Re-reading this it’s a separate software issue.. -
All I did was duplicate the TS and link to the new WIM. Other than a few gpo changes all was good. Probably just needs a few new apps removing before we deploy it everywhere.

Multiple ways really. Any multi user systems where no one really uses on a day to day we are planning on the good old fashioned way. Our build and capture is fully automated except browsers and plugins which get deployed at deployment. So wipe and reload on 80% of our devices. Any devices that have a few users (offices and laptops) we are doing in place upgrades via a task sequence in SCCM. We might move away from using a TAsk sequence in the future but it allows us to make any modifications each upgrade may or may not need which other in place methods don’t have.
