Our school has invested heavily into Pearsons' PowerMaths scheme. It is working great mostly BUT, we have introduced Benq Interactive screen RM6501K into school. It seems that the 'drawing tool' cannot be used with the Benq Touchscreens. The drawing tool just shows 'ghosting'. The drawing tool works on our older Smartboards. It's as if there is a 'layer' that is preventing the pen from working. I have raised this issue with Pearsons and Benq with no avail. If any one has any ideas I can try that would be appreciated. regards Lorraine

Hi, my RM Slate has just arrived, and for the most part, I'm loving it. I upgraded it to to W7Pro and joined it to the domain, but now I need to put my password in to login. The problem wit this is that when I resume from standby, the on-screen keyboard does not appear automatically, and I have to click the ease-of-access button, uncheck the on-screen keyboard option, recheck it and click OK for it to appear. This is a pain, and makes logging on quite a bit longer than it would otherwise. Has anyone else had this problem, and if you have a Slate or other Win7 tablet device, could you try using a passworded account and see if you get the same issue? Thanks, David

I have a setup with a main monitor and a couple of touchscreens. I have a problem that if I touch either of the touchscreens, my mouse pointer is repositioned to the touchscreen. This means that I need to move my mouse back to the original monitor to be able to continue working with it. This is not very convenient. Is there are workaround for this? I have checked all of the Windows settings but there doesn't seem to be an option which makes the touchscreens behave as intended.

Firstly, congratulations! You'll want to register the warranty to ensure you get the full 5 years (RE, RM, RP 65" and larger) - Warranty Extension IFP | BenQ UK In the unlikely event of your product being faulty, please contact our customer care team - BenQ Customer Support Our interactive displays can be used as large monitors, interactive displays or wireless casting screens, there really is no "correct" way to use them. We also offer a host of complimentary benefits that you may find useful: DMS - Device Management System (this has recently had a big upgrade at no cost) - LINK AMS - Account Management Service - LINK Broadcast - Messaging service - LINK Now all these cloud services do require internet connectivity, all the panels come with built in LAN ports or alternatively there is a wireless dongle that is available as an optional accessory for the RE03, RM03 screens; however it is included as standard with the RP03 screens. On our latest screens there is also EZWrite 6, a huge step forward from us with the built in whiteboard software. It is also available at no extra cost for PC & Mac - LINK I fully appreciate that that is probably a lot to take in, which is why we have launched the BenQ Academy - BenQ Academy Users can log in to their account (once set up) and they can track their progress through the various videos hosted here. We are CPD certified and are well on our way to getting the BenQ Academy certified as well. Should you have any questions or would like to arrange so training sessions for you or your staff please drop me a message. I'll do what I can to help.

Unfortunately I inherited these things from a predecessor. We have four NEC Accusync LCD 92XM monitors around the school, the idea being they will be used for kids to check homework, match fixtures, etc as they move about the place. I'm not sure they *do* get used for these but I'm just the techie ... To make things more awkward, they are wired into the walls, so any maintenance has to be done in-place (the PCs are mounted in the ceiling, almost impossible to remove without cutting wires). The problem is, although I can eventually get Windows XP to recognise the screens, the touch-sensor seems messed up. "Clicking" top-right moves the pointer to bottom-left and vice-versa; anything along the top-left to bottom-right diagonal axis works fine. I spent two days on these things over the Summer holiday, failed miserably and now I'm being hassled to get them going. Can I fix them or should I recommend replacement? I've never set up anything like this before and it seems a major PITA from start to finish, but maybe I'm missing something. Failing that, is there a better, more efficient way to run multiple information points around a school without a PC mounted in the ceiling? It always seemed a bit "old skool" to me and it's a nightmare to maintain them. TIA, -- Simon

Morning all TYIA Over the summer we rolled out Windows 11 to our Touchscreens that have an On Board PC in the OPC slot. During testing etc this was not an issue. However for some of our 30+ screens this morning I'm getting reports that on the login screen when they tap the username box the On Screen Keyboard is not popping up as it used to making them unable to sign in. I've changed a reg key to set the automatically show setting but this seems to have not helped. Has anyone else seen this happen?

Starting to begin the transition from the dated SMART board to interactive touchscreens but would just like to know what people are using. One of the schools is new and has the new C-Touch boards in, which are brilliant - but will definitely not be paying that much in the others. Price point is realistically < £2000 Anybody using the iiyama's by any chance? Cheers

Is there a way of booting from a pendrive on a Clevertouch board? I'd like to boot Windows 8

I'm looking for recommendations for hardware-agnostic interactive whiteboard software. Our current situation: Most of our classrooms currently have Hitachi whiteboards installed, running their Starboard software (I know they've now sold it off). As classroom projectors reach end of life, we're likely to replace with touchscreens. We don't want to get tied down to a particular brand; this is a very long term project and we don't want to find ourselves up a dead end. What we absolutely can't do is buy Brand X screens with their own software one year and then Brand Y with their own different software the following year and end up with different classrooms having totally different user experiences. What we'd like to be able to do is roll out one standard piece of software across all existing and future classrooms that will work on older interactive touchscreens as well as new touchscreens. We had a very unsuccessful trial of Oktopus on our first batch of touchscreens - the teachers hated it. We replaced that with Hero which they're getting on a little better with. Those using Starboard in the older classrooms get on OK with that but there isn't currently a site licence option available for that. I'd love to be able to say "Here's a list of the features that the teachers want in their interactive software" but that's not something I've ever been able to get out of them. Unhelpful I know! Smart and Promethean are not in the running because of their licensing arrangements. It seems like there's a huge gap in the market for a standardised piece of software available on a site licensed basis but I've yet to find anything suitable. Can you recommend anything?

Hi, We have 45x 4055 SMART Boards installed in different sites and OS's 7 of the boards are now experiencing random ghost touch issues. I've done just about everything I can think of to eliminate all possible causes relating to hardware installation and software but the problems continue. The boards use an infrared/camera touch technology and the only thing that stops the ghost touches is shrouding the screen removing sources of ambient light. The problem persists in low light rooms where all possible light reflection sources have been removed. Any ideas???

Hi all, I'm looking to fit a 65" or larger touchscreen into a room but have some concerns about durability. Budget is tight (approx £1500) but I don't really want to install a projector and white board if I can help it (because of the makeup of the room - ceiling hoists & light fittings would need alterations). Are there any large touch panels out there that would be able to take a reasonable amount of knocks, punches and withstand having various items being thrown at it - pretty much on a daily basis? Essentially, i just want to know if there are any large touch panels out there that can take a beating and if anyone on here can relate to this and share their experiences but also provide any recommendations. Thanks very much

One of our recently inherited schools has a GeneTouch Corp GT55MCQ-X Touch Panel in each classroom. Over the summer I upgraded all PCs to Windows 10. Now it turns out the interactivity isn't working correctly. The school uses ActivInspire, but when the pen (or anything) is chosen it stays on the select tool. Touch doesn't seem to be great at responding even in Windows either. I tested on Notebook and the same thing initially occurs - when trying to draw with the pen, the select tool stays. Strangely after a few random selections and taps the pen does work... I can't find drivers anywhere, Google doesn't even recognise that this particular model exists. There is a random IWB driver on the Gene Touch website but this doesn't work. There is a sticker on the front of these boards - VII Touch (http://www.vii-networks.com) but I'm almost certain these guys were the re seller and not the actual manufacturer. If anyone knows of correct touch drivers or has any more info about these boards I'd massively appreciate it!

Ok, these are just epic, sci-fi futuristic awesomness. Samsung has started preorders on its SUR40 Microsoft Surface table. Suspend your MS hate if you have any, this is too cool to miss out on finding out about. It works by integrating light sensors with every pixel just like an extra colour but in reverse, simply the whole screen is a camera. This means that the screen can see whats on it, it can track up to 50 points (software limitation) and instantly scan documents put down on it. The Samsung unit has a built in AMD platform powering it all in the same (40" or higher TV) form factor and runs MS Surface. Samsung LFD Monitors http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBUHjaZ2Uk0 Who want's one of these, I know I do! http://www.physorg.com/news/2011-11-touchscreen-table-sur40-pre-orders.html

Yep, you've read that right! I've got 100+ of these beauties coming into stock very soon. http://www.ict-direct.co.uk/refurbished-hp-8300-elite-all-in-one-23-core-i5-touchscreen.html They're really nice machines! With a 23" 1080p touchscreen, Quad Core 3.2GHz Ivy Bridge i5 3470, 4GB 1600MHz RAM, 500GB HDD. They're perfect for... Well.. Just about anything really. And we'll throw in two years warranty with them, and the usual keyboard and mouse (these come with HP wireless ones but we'll ship wired if you can't trust the little dears) So, the price. Well how about all of the above for a paltry £395?

Hello, We're looking at creating a small group room for our SEN department, the room is too small for a traditional Interactive whiteboard and Projector, and we were thinking of using a touchscreen LCD (probably 40" - 60") Looking on the Promethean website they don't seem to do a wallmount, only a stand-alone table. Are there any touchscreen LCDs available that will work with the ActivInspire software? Cheers
