    Well that all depends on which supplier you use. We bought ours through 4Gon Solutions and there was never any suggestion we should look at other brands.

    +1 for unifi here. Best decision we've ever made. We replaced 16x old Netgear WNDAP350 with 14 Unifi AC units (some lite, some pro) and have better coverage, better performance, and simple central management. The cloud key is a no-brainer as it removes the need to run the software on a VM or physical machine.

    I think there is an issue here as much of the content of the document is guidance, not hard and fast rules, so is open to a degree of interpretation and judgement as to how far you take that guidance. https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/550511/Keeping_children_safe_in_education.pdf For example, staff here are allowed access to youtube, but not children. Staff are told to pre-screen any youtube videos they want to use in lessons, however how many of them actually do that? What if an inappropriate video came up in the recommended videos feed at the end of a video? Fine if the staff member is in the staff room, not fine if they are in class with the video shown on the SMARTBoard... BTW The search term beheading is blocked here by default for everyone, we're using Surfprotect from Exa.

    We have twelve Netgear WNDAP350 Prosafe dual band wireless-N access points for sale. All in working order. We upgraded to Unifi before the holidays and I need to clear some space in my office now so these have to go.     I've only ever donated our old ICT equipment to a local company who use it to re-train ex-offenders, unemployed and others in need.     Glad you fixed it. Sorry for not replying sooner - this is my first day in school for a couple of weeks. The setting you were looking for is buried within the printer properties. If you go to the Settings tab, then click the 'Authentication Settings...' button the first two boxes on that page have to be ticked so that when your users print, it pops up a request for their username and password before sending the job to be printed.

    There's an easy, but slightly convoluted way which involves expanding the list in Outlook, copying then text importing into excel using semicolons as separators, then selecting the whole row and paste special-transpose into columns. Does that help?

    That projector is only SVGA (800x600) though, hence why its cheap.

    That model ceased production in 2011 so its definitely old. The Epson EB-X27 would be a good match as its XGA and a little brighter at 2700 lumens. https://www.avpartsmaster.co.uk/p-51557-epson-eb-x27-projector.aspx That would give you peace of mind for the next 3 years as well. Bear in mind though that the throw distance will be different so you may have to move the projector bracket.

    As @JJonas said, we need to know the make and model really. If its old and out of warranty, and you feel comfortable opening it up then I would suggest giving it a thorough clean inside. Particularly around the lens and any mirrors - be extra careful not to dislodge or move any mirrors though. If its really old, you may be better off with a new one - We've been using Epson EB-X27 recently and they are very reliable, but come with 3 years lamp and product warranty and cost less than £300.

    Welcome @jenatddm I think this is something that will come round very quick if we don't keep an eye on it - 25th May 2018 may seem a long way off but that doesn't mean we shouldn't take this time to get prepared.     Papercut - its not cheap but you have to weigh that against the potential savings of reduced colour printing.

    Couldn't you remove the PC from the network, log in as local admin and uninstall ABTutor?

    Has one of the pupils got on the teacher PC and set a blank screen?

    Have you tried Exa Networks? We've been with them for 3 years without any major issues (although typically as I type this there is an issue with the core network but its a rare occurrence) They've never bothered us with sales pitches, just sensible advice. We're in the process of upgrading form 40Mb FTTC to 100Mb fibre. Give Matt an email [email protected] to see what they can offer you.
