Hi All, Firstly, my apologies if this breaks any of the forums rules - I had a quick look around, but couldn't find any specific do's and don'ts under the Classified Adverts section. Our School has recently had a WiFi upgrade, and we now have 80+ Mixed Unifi AP's which we're looking to resell. I've currently stuck them on eBay and the item number is: 112853997506 All the information regarding the item(s) and quantities etc. can be found on the description, but of course if anyone has any questions, please ask :-)

I'll do a better job in the future, but this may make it into the staff room. thanks to funkysod.

Hi All, Has anybody had any experience with the Ubiquiti UniFi Switches we are looking at them as a cheaper alternative to edge switches (Link to switch Ubiquiti UniFi Switch 48 500W - US-48-500W) Thanks in advance, Patrick

G'day In case some UniFi users are around and willing to post back their real life sizes of their UniFI controllers. I happen to see a not-so unimportant growth of my Debian squeeze based UniFi controller here with 40 APs (ecpected yet to grow to 60-70). We don't have many users yet (only teachers allowed right now) but the /var/lib/mongodb and /var/lib/unifi/db both occupy > 7GB after about 6 months of operation which I consider quite hefty simply for logging connections. Actually this urged me to expand the partitions to not break things. Also I haven't found a way to depreciate log data after a defined period, so my current guess is that the system keeps the logged data in MongoDB for like forever? *ouch* Anyone willing to post their number of UAPs and disk use of their controllers via some 'du -h /var/lib/unifi' and 'du -h /var/lib/mongodb'?

Hi there, I'm looking at upgrading our school's wireless infrastructure and I'm torn between Ruckus and Ubiquiti Unifi Pro's for our install. I'm wondering if there are any schools in Cornwall using Ubiquiti's Unifi products that I could come and see. I've seen loads of demo's of Ruckus kit but as yet haven't found a Ubiquiti install:( Any offers gratefully received

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone out there is using unifi for their wireless? I'm looking for some feedback on performance etc. I'm a secondary school with 1350 students no BYOD (yet). All staff have a laptop (180) and move room to room, building to building throughout the day. I'm particularly interested in knowing how it 'hands off' form one AP to the next. I have just purchased 5 AC HD units, with a view to trialing in our Sixth form building. Thanks in advance

Hi, Has anyone installed these UAP‑AC‑EDU? They are a Ubiquiti AP and a Public Address / Tannoy speaker combined. Ingenious! Our head is looking for a Tannoy system and I have had several expensive quotes for IP based and Analogue system. I preferred the IP based system obviously. We also do not have any IP phones yet as I am aware that you can build a Tannoy system on top of VOIP technology. Then I found the UAP‑AC‑EDU and as were have shortlisted Ubiquity for our overdue Wifi refresh it seems perfect for us. I have no ideas of cost though. Has anyone any experience of these? Main issue is that we would probably need more speakers than AP's as having a speaker in every class would be required if the class is being noisy a speaker in the corridor would probably not suffice. Perhaps this is more suited for Lecture Theatres where there would be one AP per Theatre.

Hi, We're taking on the management of an exisiting Unifi wireless set up. This is all new to me so I'm just looking for a bit of advice please. I have exports of the current setups (2 different sites). Am I correct in thinking we just need to restore those exports to a new controller, then point the wireless access points at the new inform URL instead? Both sites are miles away so I can't physically get at the APs. If that's correct, can anyone recommend some kind of cloud hosting for the controller? I don't have a spare server or a static IP available for use at the moment. Will I need 2 controllers, one for each site export? Thanks very much.

Good morning, Those of you that have the Ubiquiti EDU wifi system and use it as a PA system, what is it like? Our college would like to use it as a way to signal lesson changes, warn of bomb/terrorist/intruder threats, that kind of thing. Can you schedule it to play a bell sound? What is the interface like for interacting with it? Thanks James
